I booked a Mother's Day Brunch cruise for my wife and our three kids. A well desevered Mother's Day that she deserved. It was a really nice and fun experience. From the moment we boarded the staff were so helpful and respectful. Thankfully it wasn't too crowded and we had on our own table with a nice view. There was a nice variety of food to please whatever you happen to crave for brunch and of course, bottomless champagne. We're a big breakfast family and we were all left satisfied with the food that was served. It really is a small world. It turns out that our server, Daniel, was actually my wife's student when he was in middle school. He was was super nice and attentive, took care of us the for the entire cruise. We ordered tickets via Groupon and confirmed our party size over the phone! I had a table of 10 for my birthday and we sat on the lower deck for the dinner cruise. For $107, the food was okay. Everyone liked the starters, the mains were okay. Steak was good, but sides and veggies were okay. Salmon was good but orzo was undercooked. Chicken was yummy but the sides were nothing to write about. Cheesecake was good but the other desserts were mid. Service was good throughout, but it was slow for ordering cocktails / drinks. What a wonderful opportunity for a brunch cruise! City Cruises knows how to put on a fun event, whether you're celebrating a birthday, anniversary, or just life. I recommend reserving a window seat so you can get right up close to the view. I am not a big drinker, so the complementary champagne / mimosa options are more than necessary for me. The brunch is served buffet-style. One floor has breakfast items, the other floor has lunch items. Dessert is on both floors. The food is decent - not world-class, but quite good and certainly filling. Go up on the deck for pictures early, ideally before dining begins - people will start hanging out there once they've finished their meal. Service is personable and efficient. This was my first time experiencing brunch with city cruise. A gathering for a friend's birthday and what better way than bottomless mimosas brunch with a view out on the water. The boat is docked at the Fisherman's Village in Marina del Rey. There's plenty of paid parking in the lot out front. Prices are very affordable for hourly or for the day. We did a Sunday funday for the first boarding time in the morning. There was already a few people waiting to get on the boat when we arrived. Beforehand, there's a photograph that will get your picture in-front of the city cruise with your partner or group. She'll come by later to show you the prints which are for purchase. We did pick up a good amount for the group. Anyway, once you board, they do ask to look inside your bags for safety reason. As you get on the boat, you are greeted with a glass of bubble. Seats are assigned which we had the lower level. There's two main dining floor and a third that's the top where you can lounge. Once we got our seat, you're free to roam the boat for a bit before the start time. This gives people time to get on and settle down. So it was nice to come a little early to enjoy the boat. Two floors for seated dining. Our floor was where the buffet was located which made it easier just to get up and walk over to. While the top level had to come down the stairs to get to the buffet. It was assigned which we were first to start. Buffet style with selections of breakfast items such as scrambled eggs, bacons, sausage, roasted potatoes. Then you get to the hot plate of chicken, salmon, pasta, French toast and the carving station. The two tables in the middle consisted of the cold items such a roasted vegetable salad, a mixed salad as well the lox station with bagels and all the condiments. And lastly, there was a dessert table with a selection of mini pastries, and fruits. It is buffet style so you help yourself. Just as the bubbles are pouring, help yourself to whatever you want. We had a big group which our floor was assigned to a waiter to take care of us. He kept the glass full which was great for a Sunday funday. Towards the end of the meal, they also did shoutouts for all the birthdays celebrations and other events being held on the boat. It was a good little gathering with friends to start the day off. For the experience, it was quite fun. The boat wasn't busy which could factor in the day we did it and time. Price was about 95.00 per person for the unlimited buffet and bottomless mimosas. We had the early time starting at 10:30am. The staff were all very sweet and welcoming. From the start with check in, to walking around the boat and checking it out. We had a nice time. It's assigned seating based on your group. Bottom floor where we were seated only had our party of 13, another party of 10 or so and a table of 4. Loads of empty tables left. The rest of the diners were on the second floor. Food was ok. Some dishes were just whatever but the hot dishes were good. Dessert table was just whatever. Nothing fancy which the dessert were probably frozen and thawed out. There wasn't anything that resembles fresh baked at the time. For the price, it was ok. If you like to drink, maybe you'll get your moneys worth. Food was ok. Our waiter what sweet. The staff were all friendly. It was great to arrive a little early to enjoy the boat. I'm sure you can roam the boat during the meal but we just wanted to eat and drink and enjoy the birthday girl. The whole experience was about 2 hrs long and went through the marina. It didn't go out past the jetty so basically up and down the marina. The day was perfect with the sun out so that made it for an amazing experience. Karri was our server and she really went above and beyond to make our experience amazing. She was so attentive and made us feel so comfortable. Giselle absolutely made our whole trip. Tip: skip the olive oil cake unless you enjoy stale and bland thick pancakes. We had to send it back. We had a good time at the dinner cruise. We also booked brunch cruise but they cancelled it a few days before the date. Food was OK. The chowder was good. The chocolate cake and cheese cake were both very good. The main courses were lackluster. The salmon was overcooked and lacked flavor. The flat iron steak was pre-cooked so it was not possible to have it medium rare. In fact, it was more like medium well to well done. Underwhelming. Our server might have been new. He seemed overwhelmed and was always the last to deliver the food compared to other servers on the ship so the food was lukewarm. Nevertheless, we left him a good tip - gotta respect someone who's trying hard. The experience was good overall. The scenery, music, and dancing and overall atmosphere made up for the disappointing main course dishes. Will I do the dinner cruise again? Brunch/dinner cruise in Marina Del Rey. Came here with my family for DineLA and had the Sunday brunch buffet. We checked in early (don't want the boat leaving without us!) and the process was easy. There's a parking lot that you can either pay for an hour and for four. Restrooms were available on the boat as well as on the shore. There were two levels; one had the breakfast foods and the other had the lunch foods. They ran out of the prime rib after an hour and other foods didn't get refilled so try to go earlier when getting food. They had live music and lots of people celebrating birthdays, so it's a fun vibe. There are chairs and couches on the outside deck so you can look at the view. They served us champagne/cider when we first came on board and our waiter was really nice. Service is on the slower side but you're there to relax and vibe, so just enjoy. I am so thrilled that i checked this place out yesterday for my birthday and we had such a blast. I love that they assign the seats so it avoids issue. I had a wonderful time on the bottomless mimosa cruise! The staff/service was amazing. My glass stayed full! They were also very helpful with anything I needed so it made the day even more pleasant! The ambiance was great simple, themed, no complaints. The reason I gave it 4 stars was because while most of the food was good, I wasn't in love with everything but they did have a nice variety! Some friends invited me on a City Cruises Marina Del Rey Bottomless Mimosa Brunch Cruise. This doesn't mean "bottomless" like the sailor suit Donald Duck wears. This means as quickly as you drink your champagne or Mimosa someone is there to refill your glass. The champagne and orange juice are served separately, so you don't have to have a Mimosa. I just had champagne. We were aboard the Entertainer. There are two decks with food buffets, chairs and tables. There is a different selection of food on each deck. It's all explained in the menu so it's easy to find what you want. There were all sorts of baked goods and desserts on both decks where there were buffets. There was also an upper deck that was open. Since the entire cruise was within Marina Del Rey there was no feeling of motion at all. If you closed your eyes you would have no idea you were on a ship. You don't have to worry about getting rocked around in the wake of a large ship since there are no large ships in Marina Del Rey. These cruises would be a wonderful adventure for a professional eater. There are vast amounts of food. Everything I had was very good. However, since I am, at best, an amateur eater, I didn't eat very much since I never eat very much. (Private Thought: City Cruises my wish all passengers were like me.) Wife, son, and I booked a sunset cruise on Thanksgiving. Very easy process from online booking to boarding. Special props to our waitress/server Macy, she was awesome! Sunset views were outstanding, especially from the upper deck. The DJ was playing some great post-meal music. The dinner buffet itself was filling, but could be improved. They actually ran out of ham and the mac and cheese was bland and cold. When the salmon was brought out, it very quickly ran out. I actually tried twice to get some, but had no luck. I went on a Sunday brunch cruise with City Cruises a couple of years ago, and it was such a great experience -- smooth vibes, classy music, delicious brunch and pastry selections, and amazing drinks. I had the best time and told everyone about it. So naturally, for my birthday last year, I booked a holiday dinner cruise, expecting the same charm. The boat was beautifully decorated for Christmas and I was ready to celebrate. But to my surprise, about 90% of the boat was taken over by a single corporate group. It was basically their office party -- and the band, DJ, and entertainment catered exclusively to them. As a result, my partner and I felt like background characters at someone else's celebration. Don't get me wrong -- they were clearly having a good time. But it felt invasive. The energy was chaotic, the music was too loud to enjoy dinner, and the whole vibe was miles away from the relaxed brunch I remembered. I left with a bad headache and honestly, disappointment. Our server was lovely, though -- super attentive and kind despite the madness around us. Suggestion for City Cruises: If you're going to book such a large corporate group that takes over the entertainment and ambiance, just make it a private event. Don't leave a few random tables for non-group guests -- it makes the group feel like they have to "share" their party, and it makes the rest of us feel like we don't belong. Nobody wins in that setup. Still holding on to my brunch memories, but if I book again, I'll be making a lot of calls in advance. read more

The food was what I expected from a nicer catering svc, which was good enough for what it is. I enjoyed the cleanliness of the boat; the bathroom is usually a good sign. This experience was amazing. From the moment you step in the crew gives you the VIP treatment. I loved every single thing about this cruise. The staff were polite, presentable and attentive. Our server name was Suzi, she made sure our champagne glasses were never empty. We were also celebrating two birthdays and Suzi made sure that they had a great time. The food was delicious. What a wonderful Marina del Rey "Valentine's Day Premier Dinner Cruise" celebration that my 76 year old boyfriend and I (71 years old) shared on Valentine's Day, 2025, for 3 hours--with over 100 loving couples (I'm sure we were by far the oldest), champagne, a delicious 3 course meal, roses, music, a ride around the marina, great scenery (we had a window view!), free access to relax in the lounge or roam around the 3 level ship, and more!!  City Experiences/City Cruises, the ship's chef, and the entire staff I dealt with were excellent at accommodating my "special needs" relating to mobility (I use a walking stick) and food (I have problems swallowing food as a result of the long-term side effects of radiation I had many years ago). I also am a vegetarian. Kudos also especially go out to our personal server, Jasmine, who went well beyond the call of duty, making sure everything was fine - everything was phenomenal! I even got to meet the kind captain of the ship who made an exception, allowing us to pre-board before the 6:30 pm scheduled time to get out of the freezing cold & keep warm. Prior to embarking, we had fun walking in the few opened shops along Fisherman's Village. Prior to booking the event, within a few hours, I always received helpful and thorough written responses from "City Experiences" to my many inquiries! purchased tickets on groupon for a saturday brunch cruise for my fam to celebrate my birthday my dad wasnt feeling well, so lost out on his ticket.. check in was easy via the groupon app, had to show the QR code we boarded 30 mins prior to the cruise time of 11am the entire staff were very accommodating and service was great our boat was very spacious and clean everyone was offered cider or champagne upon entering we were shown to our table (window seats) on the second level the logistics of boarding, checking in, getting up to get food and exiting went very smooth the speakers on our level were not really working, it was hard to hear anything, very muffled there was live music, one man band, singing all the tunes, again if the speakers weren't muffled, it would have been perfect i was not feeling well due to a bit of feeling sea sick, even tho i took dramamine prior to boarding, so after i ate i immediately went to the top deck to enjoy the scenery and get fresh air i wish we went out further, it seemed like we just sat in the harbor for a bit before returning to port the buffet was wonderful, a good mix of everything drinks: juices, teas, coffee, water ..all included overall, i was pretty pleased with my experience. def want to book again so my pops can experience it parking: Fisherman's Village Marina, 13755 Fiji Way, pay at the electronic pay stations. this time around the pay stations did not take cards for some reason, had cash on hand 0-2 hours = $2 2-4 hours = $4 4 - all day = $8 read more

What a great experience! Took my friend for a Champagne Brunch Cruise, and we had a wonderful time! Our waiter kept the bubbly flowing all cruise long. The buffet was filled with tasty treats, and there was a guitarist playing awesome music. We saw many seabirds, seals and pelicans on our excursion around the Marina. My mom booked the Champagne Brunch cruise for my sister's bachelorette party. Before boarding one of the crew members took commemorative photos of our group so she could remember this special occasion. As we boarded the Just Dreamin' we were handed a glass of champagne (or sparkling apple cider) to get the festivities started. The boat was nice, spacious, and was comprised of three levels. The top is the dining area, the middle is where the food is served. It also has a lounge area and bar. There is also another lovely lounge area and bathrooms located on the bottom level. I was worried about motion sickness but the boat travels at a slow speed, so it wasn't an issue. Once we were seated at our tables our fantastic server came by to introduce herself and gave us the run down. The food is served buffet style and each table goes down one at a time in order to avoid long lines. It was a nice assortment. Scrambled eggs, French toast, bacon, Danishes, croissants, roasted potatoes, pasta salad, fresh fruit, two different types of salads, smoked salmon, and a carving station. There was also a dessert table with cheesecake, petit fours, brownies, and lemon bars. The food was fresh, warm, and delicious. The dressing for the salads was on the side, so the lettuce didn't get soggy, which I appreciated. The roasted potatoes were so good. I loved the seasoning. The food was plentiful and many went down for seconds and thirds. During the 2-hour cruise we enjoyed live entertainment, took in the spectacular views, snapped photos on the deck, and enjoyed free flowing champagne. Our glasses were never empty. As we were leaving, one of the gals was on the dock with a platter of macaroons & petite fours, so I grabbed one to enjoy on the ride home. Everything was efficient and well organized. A special mention to Queena P. the event manager who accommodated my Uncle who was in a wheel chair and Kevin who assisted as well. It was a Thanksgiving Buffet, there was Turkey, Tri Tip Roast and Salmon. Salmon was tender well flavored, tri tip too. The mac n cheese had a white sauce that was light but good, I prefer a different style but it wasnt the worst. I really liked the salad and the green beans. The food overall was a 7.5/10 there were some highlights and some options that were forgettable but for a holiday meal it was great. What a magical experience! My girlfriends and I came to celebrate a fellow gal for her birthday! We were greeted with a group photo op and didn't have to wait very long to enter our awaited 2 hour excursion. Once aboard, we were greeted with champagne flukes and happy happy faces! Celebrated my husband's 60th birthday last night on this amazing cruise. Our servers, Dre' and JD, were amazing! Not only did they take care of us the entire night, they made us feel like they were family. Called us by our first names. We had our two granddaughters onboard, and they were so charming with them. The 3-course meal was amazing!! DJ Kelly Kel had our whole family up and on the dance floor. It was one of the best nights spent with my family. Thank you, City Cruises! read more
