We have had crawfish all around Louisiana for the past few weeks and our experience at Cajun Claws was the best yet. The restaurant is set up for boiled seafood. My wife had 5 pounds of boiled crawfish and I had 3 pounds of crawfish and a pound of boiled shrimp. The crawfish and shrimp seemed to be freshly boiled and the crawfish were selects and the shrimp were large. The crawfish were well purged and not over cooked. The crawfish shells were kinda hard - but peeled well enough. I think it's because it's a little late in the crawfish season and the shells are harder. We had a great meal and definitely plan to come again when we're in the area. read more

My sister and I have been traveling all over Louisiana and happened by this place. Walking in the door gave us an unfriendly feeling and our waitress Becky was so self absorbed when we ask her a question about a drink she said "if you don't know what you want I'll have to go wait on someone else" When I ordered I misstated crab for chicken and she says "I don't know what you're talking about, we don't have crab gumbo" and rolled her eyes. I sat and looked at her until she would listen and said "I'm sorry, I want the chicken and sausage gumbo not the crab and sausage gumbo, I made a mistake" She brought out my 1/2 sweet tea and 1/2 plain tea but it was all plain. I waited for her to come back but she never did so I took my glass to the hostess and she got me some sweet tea. My sister ordered crayfish etoufee and it was lukewarm. Becky never came back to check on us so my sister just ate it because she thought Becky would probably spit in it if she did take back to the kitchen to warm up. My sister wanted to know the ingredients in the Mardi Gras Martini but Becky didn't know and the bartender seemed confused on what was in it so she ordered a hurricane instead which was "OK" When Becky came back and gave us our check she again didn't ask "how was everything?" So my sister said "the etoufee would be better Hot" Becky said "why didn't you say anything?" My sister said "you never came back, who was I suppose to tell??" That did it Becky went into a tangent about how busy she was (4 other tables besides ours) and that she WAS NOT the manager. Meanwhile a group of 7 other waiters and bus people were standing around talking and arguing about their jobs. We won't go back or recommend. After being on the road 4 weeks in Louisiana, this was the our first bad restaurant experience so we are still feeling pretty lucky. PS... my chicken and sausage gumbo was delish ! read more

After leaving Oxford, we decided to treat ourselves to dive Louisiana seafood and Cajun Claws was cole enough to the interstate to try. We entered a very relaxed motif with a very welcoming staff. The bartender took our order and he too was very friendly and helpful. My son ordered 3 lbs of crawfish, and I ordered the fried fish platter! Both orders were ordered to go, and they were both delicious! My son experienced 3 lb crawfish bowl complete with potatoes and corn to-go, while I also enjoyed perfectly fried swai in our rental minivan. Eating there would have been nice, but eating the good in a rental was just as nice! If you rent a burgundy minivan from thrifty, be careful. It may smell like a Louisiana crab boil!!! Where should I start? I stood at the front door waiting to be seated (as the sign requested). The older blonde haired woman looked at me twice and walked in back without coming to seat me. A nice young black girl came and seated me at the bar and took my drink order. Great sweet tea. I ordered the Zip's Catch which was comprised of fish, shrimp, oysters, gator, fries and hush puppies. When asked what kind of fish it included, nobody knew! My salad was brought out at the same time as my dinner, not the best of timing. While I waited for my food about a half dozen employees just hung around chatting. When my food came out it was all quite light colored for being fried. I would soon find the color was due to being undercooked. The oysters were very loose and the breading fell off. I believe they were fresh but,again, undercooked. The gator was chewy and undercooked and generally hard to chew. The shrimp tasted ok and was the best part of the meal. The mystery fish was crispy on the outside and just a bit undercooked and I managed to finish both pieces with plenty of hot sauce. The French fries were undercooked and not salted enough. For the money it was very disappointing in general. I would recommend some other seafood restaurant if you like crispy breaded seafood. Other than the young woman that waited on me the rest of the employees seemed to have better things to do like texting and checking their phones especially the older blonde woman. read more

Another great local joint in Acadiana, this one easy on and off the interstate. Big open space that often has a guitar player during the week but the food is what keeps people coming back. All the usual suspects for Cajun cooking and of course crabs and the crawfish in season. Family joint. I don't think you'll be disappointed. read more

We travel clear across the country every year just for crawfish season in southeast Louisiana (well, and to escape northern snows). Over the years, we've developed a short list of boil houses we go back to again and again, but I admit, we visited Cajun Claws for the first time just because it was new and so convenient to where we were staying. But we keep going back because the crawfish boils are SO GOOD! Perfectly cooked and flavorful (we think the heavy garlic is their secret), served in a bright, clean setting with a special abundance of the friendly Acadiana hospitality that draws us back to this part of the world every year. By our third visit, Miss Sara was reciting our regular order to US once we were seated -- that's some great service. That short list? They haven't seen much of us this year. On our travels on I-10, my husband wanted legit seafood boil. This place is right off off the interstate. We arrived right when they opened, so I thought we'd have to wait for our order of 3 lbs of crawfish and 1 lb of shrimp. The food came out fast, and tasted amazingly fresh. My Gulf Coast native hubby said they had the biggest crawfish he's ever seen. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. Our 2 year old liked his chicken fingers and fries with their special dipping sauce that came with our boil. They had TVs on, but the sound was muted...a great distraction for the little one without being obnoxious. The manager came over and was SO nice, and showed me how to eat them! I also was interested in purchasing a tshirt and she was very helpful. GREAT service. You won't be disappointed. We will not be back. Good was grear but the service was horrible. We went in with a party of 21. Our waitress was all over the place. Getting drinks took a bit after awhile we were all ready to order and since our waitress hadn't came back to the table we asked a waitress that was helping a table on the side of ours if she can get a manager. She told us our waitress was the manager. So we said well can we get a different waitress because we were unhappy with our experience so far. The little waitress went ahead and took all our of orders right away. When she got to about the 18th person. The "manager" came and asked if was ready to order. I told her we already gave it. Her response was super rude and unprofessional. She told us that she was going to RETAKE our whole order because her waitress staff was all new and didn't know how things ran. We told her we would not give all our orders all over again. She walked over to the little waitress grabbed the sleeve of her shirt and told her she needed to ask before doing that again and that she embarrassed her in front of us. After the "manager" started removing things from our table. She put her "whole" hand over my mother in laws drink to move it so she could reach a dish. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!! Leaned over my father in law and never said excuse me. Her attitude was not as a manager should be. Our food took over an hour which in that hour she never came back to check on us. My fiance had to go tell her we needed refills. Which at that time everyone was so fed up they didn't even want her at our table. I had to talk 2 couples in our group Into not just walking out. After my in laws left early because they were frustrated. We got our food " which was good" while the girls was handing out plates the "manager " would say don't look at me for who's order is what because I didn't take it. We heard that multiple times.... OKAY we get it you didn't take the order so just call out what it is instead of bashing your waitress that was helping YOU because your big top wanted to walk out without paying. When we would say something her remarks were always that the staff was all new so she had to pull the weight of the whole restaurant. The little girl that helped us had plenty of experience and was super helpful. We are worried she will get in trouble but... our table had 8 waitress at it and I am a manager of a restaurant myself and I would never talk down to or about my staff. My whole party all said it was their 1st and last time going to your establishment. We are from crowley and know the Spalino family. It is sad to lose support of over someone that is in a management position. A poor leader will ruin your business. read more
