They replaced the pump and the reservoir and sent me on my way with the power steering still broken. I could not even pull into a parking space - I almost hit another car. The power steering when turning was still broken!!!! I called their store immediately and was told that - well, we told you there was still a bit of a glitch!! They then said it needed a steering gear and that would be another $1500.00. They charged me $2400.00 to replace the steeing pump. My daughter has been helping me get in touch with the owner. That was a week ago - she has tried calling back into the store and he is always "out":...but they said he is working on it. I diagnose your car and let you know how many things are wrong. They said I needed a new battery - my battery wasn't only 6 months old. They lie and take advantage of people and do not stand behind their work or the lack there of!! They have christian music playing in their shop. They are NOT christians.

I was told I needed new rear brakes, so I planned to replace them myself on Saturday, 12/29/25. When I went to start the job, my security socket was nowhere to be found. So much for my Saturday project. The shop was closed for the weekend, so I couldn't resolve it. I met with the owner, Dan, on Monday. He ordered a new set of security lugs in hopes that the key would work. It did not. The tech had misplaced my original key during the brake inspection. Needless to say, it was a major inconvenience--and I didn't receive so much as an apology from the owner. This was my experience as a first-time customer. A $50-off coupon will not bring back my business.

I called, and they suggested I really had to come in, which makes sense. They gave me options/pricing, and really tried to keep the price low. The dealership quoted me $4,000 (to be clear, dealer did say 'shop around') to repair whole system. I drove out of Muffler Doctor with a repaired, safe, car for just under $200.

Today I brought my Subaru in for brake pads and rotators... I thought easy fix. Well I was informed I needs calipers too. $900+ visit... after speaking with Tim, I remembered I had an extended warranty. After all was said and done, the Subaru dealership has to replace everything due to a manufacture issue. Tim was helpful through the whole process, and charged me NOTHING. When I asked if I could at least pay something for the diagnostics, he stated "oh no, I mean I would hope someone would do this for me in your situation." You do not find that kind of customer service anywhere now days. Most shops are all for themselves and how they can make money. It's great to know there are still good businesses and business people out there. Even the advisor at Subaru mentioned the guys at Muffler Doctor are good people. He doesn't have a fancy repair shop or a fancy waiting room, so if you need that this is not the place for you. If you can skip the amenities and want great service and prices he's your guy. Jose has been working on all my cars since 2011 and I haven't had a problem with a single repair. His prices usually come in at about half of what the dealership quotes. One of the repairs he did ended up in a recall. I thought oh no... Should have done it at a dealership... But I was wrong. His staff effortlessly produced all the paperwork needed, and because he was cheaper I was reimbursed 100%! I'm a customer for life.
