When I first spotted this place I thought it was everything you could want in a bakery so I patronized often. Along with patronizing I told everyone I came in contact with how much I adored this place because we all know word of mouth is the best advertisement. On Friday,Nov 17th I called to see if the bakery could do a one tier Super Mario cake for next day pick up. Now granted I knew it was last minute and with all the action this place gets I was super shocked they were able to take on my order at such short notice. I have my order and my budget was no more than $160 total. I paid for the cake over the phone. The young lady said everything would be fine. I was to pick the cake up Sat, I was not given a time. So being that I know they close at 5pm on Sat and closed the next day Sunday ,I get there by 230. The cake is not ready, a young lady says she stated she told you after 3. I replied no, she didn't. However I proceeded to buy two cookies and the young lady have me one for free for the inconvenience. So 330 rolls around I send my bestfriend to pick the cake up because I was working and get it's her son's b'day. She gets there and the cake still was not ready. She had to wait another hr. so for her inconvenience they have her some damn balloons and some other trinket. So I see the cake and it is horrible the foundation was fine. The character they created doesn't look like Mario, they don't have clean work, the tunnel that was on the cake was supposed to be standing up. It was later down to cover up the messy work of what they thought was Mario's arm. The eyebrows were on top of the hat. It was displayed so ugly. After seeing this I emailed them of course to let them know how disappointed I was. Renea stated that it was not like that when it left the store, so I guess we altered the characters face, huh. She then stated that they could've delivered it, which no one even mentioned they had until the email. She then when on to say we did what we could do within your budget. Wait one minute regardless of wait my budget was you took on the responsibility at that cost. If you and your " artist " could not complete the task why wouldn't turn the cake down versus getting a bad review and lose a customer. You basically stated that my hard earned money was shit. Great cupcakes and creative edible art! WE ordered two specialty cakes and were very pleased. Our guests could not stop eating the cake crumbs on the platter. Thank you Cake Crumbs Team for making our event most memorable. They are open on Mondays and the Owner is very detailed and caring. The store is so cheerful and they have classes and can host cake decorating parties for kids and adults (adults can bring in wine...I'm IN). My family loves their strawberry shortcake cake and cupcake! Most of their cupcakes are filled with delicious mousse fillings and they even make out of this world carrot cake. I stumbled upon this bakery in Southfield and was so excited they offer baking parties! We choose the Cupcake Wars party for my sons party! It was everything beyond amazing. They baked cupcakes and created food toppings like burgers, fries and cherry pie! The staff was very organized and patient with my group of 15 teenagers. Now, my daughter wants to have a cake decorating party here too. We can't wait to come back. The pastries we tried were to die for- german chocolate and red velvet cupcake were great as well. I am a cupcake fanatic! I stumbled upon this place one day last year on my way home from work. I think I stopped by there everyday leaving work for at least a week! Their cupcakes are delicious!! I even tried a maple bacon cupcake and that was delicious too! My all time favorite cupcake from Cake Crumbs is the Grand Mariner Carrot Cake Cupcake!! They are absolutely the best!! Cake crumbs made a cake for my daughters baby shower. The hall we chose had several hall rooms inside one building. People from other events were coming in to see my daughters cake. It was amazing and the taste of it was delicious. I highly recommend them for an event. And yes the diaper bag with the baby wipes and items situated in the pockets was the cake!! Amazing!! My boss surprised me with reservations to attend a class here. To my surprise it was a Macaroon class. We truly enjoyed this with Chef Renea! She was very informative and delightful!
