Stumbled into this cute spot while picking up dinner a few doors down. I was surprised to see them open after 7 but they were. The lady working the counter was sooo inviting. I am loving this bakery. It has been a loooongggg time that I have been pleased with a bakery. The cupcakes are very tasty and not too sweet. The perfect balance. There is always a variety. I was a little bit worried what I was going to do for a cupcake place now that Knudsen's Bakery closed. At least in Columbus I had Crumbz and in the Ann Arbor area there is Dom's, but now I have found one that is "diet dangering too close to my place in Southfield. I think BT will help all of us who miss those caramel cupcakes or those orange ones. I visited during the bad January storm morning and found a well stocked case of many flavors to choose from but once I saw the caramel one I had to try it. The cupcakes are a little larger than the ones from the places I have mentioned earlier with a price of $3 a cupcake. I can tell you that once you taste one, you will see that they are worth the price. They aren't miserly with the frosting like some places are. Nor did I find a well in the middle filled with frosting like some places do to just fancy up the cupcake - like those places don't understand that Hostess only does that to get us to buy week old cupcakes that will last another 2 weeks so we don't notice the preservatives they used. You can get more than cupcakes there, but I will stick to cupcakes and look forward to when the weather gets warm so I can try their orange cupcakes. read more

First things first. The cupcakes were ok -- just ok to me -- but my teacher and classmates did like them. Long story ... I was looking for a Black-owned bakery and neighbors on nextdoor recommended BT's Bakery. They were especially excited about the $2 Tuesday cupcake deal. I checked the bakery's website to verify this and their hours. So I went to the bakery to buy a load of cupcakes for my classmates and teacher. The owner became a bit irate; she practically accused me of making up the deal. She then calmed down to tell me that it was no longer a thing since covid complicated matters (for all businesses) the year before. That's all well and fine; I would have been understanding if she hadn't started with reprimanding me. I cannot return to a business with an owner like that. read more

First off, let me say I got a pineapple upside down cake here that was so incredible, it's worth 5 stars on it's own. But I also got 4 cupcakes, strawberry lemon, lemon, raspberry lemon and red velvet oreo. The cupcakes were delicious but that upside down cake is just incredible. Three words: German Chocolate Brownie!! They sell all their flavors in three ways: Whole cake, cupcakes and cake slices. the OMG cake (their version of Sander's Lumpy Cake) is just as good as the original, in fact the sponge is even better than the Sander's cakes you get at the grocery. Buttercream is great, not too sweet and not too much fat. Some bakeries use too much lard in their buttercream not these guys. There is another local "Butterceam" place whose buttercream is just a tad better, but not by much. Give this place a try, they need to be successful so I can keep getting the German Chocolate Brownies and OMG Cake!!! read more

I had no issues when I placed the order however, when I dropped off the image for the cake I was treated very rudely. The lady stated that her job was to just deliver the messages. I told her I was following the instructions that were given to me and she wouldn't listen. When she called the owner she realized I was being truthful and she was still very rude. Lastly she decline to have Happy Birthday written on the cake. When I picked the cake up the owner actually did it and apologized.
