Owned by a second generation baker and open at 7:00am seven days per week, Cake World occupies a small corner of the shopping plaza where the ceiling decorated in pinata feels as joyous as all the custom Cakes on display throughout the interior. Greeted by pleasant staff, prices barely changed in the past decade, Pan Dulce comes in a good variety from sprinkled Cookies to crisp Oreja and Cheese-filled Empanadas. When I ordered my cake, I purchased a few items from the bakery section. They did not taste fresh. I don't know if it was bad timing or what. Was looking for a bakery for a last minute birthday cake I could walk in and pick up. This cake shop really isn't for just "walk ups". I asked if they had any full cakes for sale and she only had a Strawberry Shortcake, all the cakes in the display were serving cakes by the slice. Again, not their fault. I took the Strawberry Shortcake and she politely offered to write happy birthday on it. The cake was $58 and I was like holy crap this better be the best cake I've had in my whole life lol! She didn't tell us the cake needed to sit out on the counter or anything. We got home, put it in the fridge, then sang happy birthday 4 hours later. The strawberries in the cake were all frozen in the middle so that was just weird. And it tasted fine otherwise but nothing to write home about. read more

I have used Cake World to make several cakes for me over the years. They're family owned and ran and do a wonderful job making your designs come to life! The cakes have all been fantastic and taste as amazing as they look! They even helped me get the cake settled into my car. On the cakes I added some dolls on the LoL one and a topper and some little figurines on the Stitch cake. The cakes are definitely expensive but you get what you pay for! Wy wife needed a cake for my granddaughters first birthday and wanted to make it VERY special. We went to every place we could think of to get a "strawberry shortcake" themed cake but no one could do it. We called Cake World and they were excited to show us what they could do. The front of the store was suspiciously clean and bright, almost to the extent that you believe that they were super sanitary. With their "A" rating, I know they are. They have large screens showing portfolios of what they've done for other clients and the cakes looked pretty cool! They do some awesome wedding cakes, custom made to your specifications. We ended up picking up our cake to save the delivery fee but we were biting our nails the whole way home. It might have been worth the fee! Cake World is my wife's favorite place to go for her Tres Leches cake. It is not cheap, I paid $72 for a round cake to feed 25 people. Yes, it is pricey but they have fresh fruit and the flavors are on point. If you're considering this bakery but are unsure, choose this if you know what flavor cake you want because that's the main reason we come back on occasion. Fresh fruit is another plus. My husband put in an order in person only a couple of days before I came home, and it was ready just in time. Cake World created just what he'd ordered, a beautiful custom design with buttercream. The coloring was just perfect. They helped him pick a flavor and size, which he chose a layered vanilla, chocolate mousse and cream. SO YUMMY! I was looking up bakeries in Las Vegas and Cake World had popped up on the search list on Yelp. I decided to stop by Cake World on a Wednesday evening. Cake World is located off of the 95/Cheyenne in a private plaza with spacious amount of parking. There are several small tables located inside Cake World. Cake World has a wide variety of sweet treats such as Cookies, Cupcakes, Cakes, Conchas and much more! We did pick up a few baked goods to go, specifically cookies. We had selected the Red Velvet, Oatmeal Raisin cookie, Sugar cookie, Chocolate chip cookie. They had a few flavors of conchas available. We picked up two, vanilla conchas. At Cake World, they do custom order cakes. It's my mother's 62 birthday, so we custom ordered a large chocolate cake with Oreo filling and chocolate covered strawberries on-top. It was short notice, but the team at Cake World was able to create the cake for the following Sunday! The cookies were super delicious! They were relatively small, but the flavor was great! The cookies were soft, not too hard. The oatmeal raisin was my favorite. The cookie had a good amount of raisins in it, and the cookie wasn't too large. The conchas was the best though! I ordered a Tre Leches cake for a birthday. When I went to pick it up there was no milk on it. I brought this to their attention and they said they only do the sponge. That is something they really should have said on the pnone while taking the order! I have never had any other Bakery do this when I pick up the cake! There was ko time to order from somewhere else so I took the cake and had to go buy the milks at a busy grocery and soak it. In addition to this the quality of the writing on the cake was poor and they decorated it in BLUE! I have no idea why but the frosting had BLUE food coloring in it which I had not asked for (strawberries had been ordered). I will be warning my friends away from this Bakery. Update: that nasty BLUE frosting turned our mouths and teeth blue! NASTY! It also stained my fingers when some got on while transferring the cake to a sheet pan for soaking.
