I've been to quite a few Japanese bakeries and truly the loaf is top tiered and I believe their salt bread is the best I have ever tried. I highly recommend their cookie butter salt bread and also their red bean one too (if you like red bean). The dough is the perfect texture of crispy on the outside and yet chewy and soft on the inside when heated up. They have such a great assortment of different japanese baked goods, and everything else I've tried is also good. I also love their japaninis. Their shop is small but there is free parking. I feel like they've also blown up recently so expect a wait, especially if you're going on a weekend- but it is worth it!

As such, I am quite familiar with discerning between a dry ensaymada and one that is delightfully fresh. Two of the three ensaymadas I sampled were wonderfully soft and fluffy. The third was acceptable, though it was noticeably drier than the other two. I appreciated the distinct flavors, and I will certainly keep The Ensaymada Project in mind for future potlucks. Their minimada offerings would make for a unique and pleasant treat to share.

I like to get a variety of cookies and pastries for myself and the kids. The girl working couldn't name all the pastries but her service and courtesy was great. I wanted to know the guava "cupcake/pie thing" to recommend, but that's okay. They also make fresh Aqua Frescas here, and I recommend the papaya for its flavor and consistency. I am glad that I opened the doors to this place. The cobbler was SO good. The banana pudding was SO good. I've read a few of the reviews that said otherwise and I just can't imagine why. The banana pudding was old school and perfect. One of the best I've ever had. The cobbler was so tasty that I realized. If Peach is in the name and they have something peach on the menu. You gotta try it. What I gotta do is try some of the cakes next time. A real sweet treat at Sweet Red Peach.

I had heard about this place through a few friends who had purchased cakes for various events. The owner has been baking cakes for years and just recently decided to open the bakery. I figured it was worth a few minutes to stop in and see if all the hype was valid. My friends were right...this place is amazing. The decor and vibe in the bakery was completely unexpected. Definitely does not have the feel of a normal bakery (which is a good thing). The girl behind the counter greeted me as soon as I walked in (more than I can say for the OTHER "well-known" cupcake shop in town). She explained to me which flavor cupcakes they had for the day as well as the cakepops (cake lolli pops) and chocolate chip cookies. I went with a carrot cake cupcake, red velvet cupcake, and a cinnamon cakepop. The carrot cake cupcake was such a nice surprise. Tasted just like carrot cake with the texture of a normal cupcake. The red velvet ranks up there with the best I have ever had. The cinnamon cakepop was something that was so original and delightful. On top of the great cupcakes, the atmosphere was awesome. There are couches and chairs set up kinda like starbucks. There were a few women sitting there talking while I was in there. They seemed to be having a great time. The icing on the cake (sorry I couldn't resist) was the Melinda, the owner, came out and greeted me and then went over and spent some time talking to the women that were sitting there. It's was nice to see an owner take pride in her bakery and the product she puts out (again unlike the "competition" in town). The ONLY complaint I would have is that there are high ceilings that cause an echo. It makes it sound a lot noisier than it really is but there isn't a whole lot that can be done about that. I ordered a engagement cake from here this year...expecting it to be amazing and taste phenomenal, especially since she did cakes for Giuliana Rancic and other major people. The price was a bit overpriced for what i received but that wasn't my problem because price was no option. my problem was the end design was not what we discussed and the taste wasn't anythings special; it tasted like Betty Crocker's out of the box cake. Especially the Fun Fetti cake. I feel as if I got ripped off and she made it seem as if the cake would be amazing and absolutely stunning. It wasn't. Finally what really got me mad was that i had called in to come in to check the flavors and see the design, so i went to the store and she would she i don't have it yet or she is not in today. Pissed me off. So the engagement wasn't that great so i will order my wedding cake from somewhere else. I don't think I would come back. Fun place to visit to see awesome sourdough being made. Nice restaurant on 2nd floor with great food albeit at tourist prices (too high for the value). The small museum is worth visiting for free (included with meal) but I wouldn't pay separately for it. read more
