Please do not order your wedding cake here. My sisters wedding cake from here came out completely wrong. Instead of a white wedding cake which everyone has, they gave her a yellow cake. Yes, she specifically did say she wanted white not yellow. Then the bottom layer she wanted lemon filling with the white cake and they gave her lemon bread. She was extremely sad and we ended up throwing the entire cake away because no wedding guests wanted any and nobody would take any home due to the whole bottom being lemon bread and nobody liking the frosting since it was extremely hard and thick frosting, like nobody had ever seen before. read more

Fantastic cake! We were visiting the smokys for my husband's 40th birthday. I ordered a cake a week in advance over the phone - Banana with chocolate icing. Picked it up on the morning of his birthday with no problem. The cake was GORGEOUS and absolutely delicious. Moist, yummy, real banana flavor and the icing hit it out of the park. We found this bakery on the way back from a cave tour and decided to check them out as we were looking for a cake for my son's birthday. Shannon was so friendly and helpful. We saw that cakes needed to be ordered ahead of time, so we settled on a dozen cupcakes. You choose your cupcake flavor, then the icing flavor and sprinkles, which is a really cute idea. She let us put in a quick custom order for a dozen giant cupcakes because she was temporarily oyt of one of the flavors, and called us when they were ready an hour later. They looked delicious and tasted amazing. Needless to say, they didn't last long once home. We were just passing through on vacation, but will have to come back if we're in the area again. read more

Incredible cinnamon rolls! My husband had a hankering for a cinnamon roll while we were in Pigeon Forge on vacation, and was planning to swing into a Cinnabon one morning. I found this little gem on Yelp and suggested we give it a try. First off, Google Maps takes you to some residence close by, so just make sure you don't turn off the main road, and keep an eye out for the sign. There is a couple of small tables to sit at outside, and one inside. My family of 4 was the only ones there at the time, so we had a seat inside. Very cute shop with lots of goodies and ice cream as well. We each got a cinnamon roll, and they were fantastic. The glaze is out of this world. I do prefer my cinnamon rolls a little crispy on the outside but these were softer. Regardless, still very good and it didn't stop me from eating the whole thing. We even decided to get some mini cupcakes to carry out for a family dinner we were going to later that evening. Those were great as well! read more

Fabulous little bake shop. Places to sit inside and out. Specializes in custom cupcake, you pick the flavor and she frosts it while you wait your choice of frostings, then....Wait for it....You pick the sprinkles. You can even upgrade to those little sugar dealies. Both big and mini varieties. Super fresh, too. And the owner is a sweetheart to boot. This area can be a little touristy for my taste, Bakin was a great departure from that feel. read more

When we travel we always check out the local cupcake places, this one is top on our list! Brunswick GA has a lady that might tie him but the Cake Bishop was great! I loved being able to pick my flavor cupcake and icing, and they decorate it right in front of you! The cupcakes were moist and the icing was piled high!! I added a cute owl sugar on top! I only WISH I had found this place on day 1 of our vacation instead of the last day. AWESOME cinnamon rolls!! The owner serves them hot and then ices them prior to serving them to you. WOW! I had such a GREAT experience with Cakes by Bakin Bishop. I ordered a birthday cake just a few days before a trip to Pigeon Forge. Shannon was amazing and was able to fit me in her schedule and deliver an incredible chocolate cake that was perfectly decorated. It was a huge hit with our group. When we picked up the cake, Shannon wasn't there, but Laura was and she was such a pleasure. We intended to walk out with only the cake, but couldn't resist the cinnamon rolls, cupcakes and other pastries. What a fantastic find! We will be back on our next trip. read more

Stopped in today to grab something for our anniversary tomorrow. We got a 16-ct mini cupcakes with various icing on each one! Let me tell you, they DID NOT disappoint! Stopped here while on a trip because I was intrigued by the "bakin bishop" concept, but disappointingly, the owner's last name is Bishop, not an actual bishop. There goes the chance of each one of these little cupcakes being blessed by the Almighty. What wasn't disappointing were the cupcakes and the price. You can customize the cupcakes as you wish, or ding the flavor of cupcake (lemon, yellow, chocolate, red velvet, etc) and then the icing to top it (buttercream, chocolate, mint, etc). It's a big decision, because you don't want to screw this part up. I tried the mini chocolate cupcake with mint, my dad had the mini orange cupcake with buttercream, and we both loved them enough to buy a 12 pack for further testing. What was equally enticing was the price, which, if I recall correctly was 91 cents per cupcake, and just under $11 for 12. Having discovered the gourmet cupcake movement while spending three years of my life living in Miami, FL, I am used to much higher prices, usually $1.25 a cupcake or more. Add on top of that the ability to customize (including sprinkles and drizzles) and these things rank high on the value. Sadly, upon further research, I found that I do not personally like their buttercream or cream cheese frosting. Not say they're not good, they're just not to my liking. I found all the cupcakes and the rest of the frosting options to be good. The owners are very nice, and I sadly forgot to go back the next morning and try the cinnamon buns, which looked fantastic. read more
