She has been established in the industry for a very long time, and her reputation speaks for itself. Her cakes are not only visually stunning, but they are also incredibly delicious. Out of all of the cake places that we went to for tastings, Cakes by Gina stood out because of their exceptional service and hospitality. Their cake designs are out of this world. They could design anything! CBG offers many flavors, but our favorites were the red velvet and bridal white cake. My husband and I love Tetris, and wanted to add that to the cake. CBG did a beautiful job executing that. We received so many compliments on our wedding cake! The reason why I knocked a star off is because the cakes are too sweet for me. If there was 30-40% less sugar, it would've been great. Asians like their desserts "not too sweet" lol. I've had too many dry wedding cakes in my life and the cakes here are consistently moist, which is a huge plus. The other reason why I gave this place 4 stars is because I had to send an inspo pic of how I wanted the flowers to be arranged multiple times to different people at Cakes by Gina. The day of my wedding, my coordinator asked me how I wanted the flowers to be arranged. I ended up explaining it to her and it worked out, but I'm surprised that a picture wasn't printed, or notes were not written down. I'm not gonna lie, they're pricey. We scheduled our cake consultation with cakes by Gina after hearing nothing but good things. Upon arrival, the customer service immediately stood out to us. We were met with mimosas and coffee and had the opportunity to tour the showroom as well as the kitchen and back freezer which showed the cleanliness and care which I really appreciated. The tasting was delicious and more than enough cake to make an accurate assessment for our wedding day. After a successful wedding with only a few bumps I wanted to back and thank all of the vendors who helped make the day go by smoothly. Cake tasting is one of those things if everything goes well (fingers crossed), you only get to do ONCE in your life. I mean when else can you call up places and set up appointments for you to get FREE cake?! The team at Cakes by Gina was one of the few vendors that had the styrofoam cake layers. It seems so simple but it goes a long ways to visualize how big your cake will be when stacked up. They also, have pages upon pages of past cakes they have designed so you can pick what you want. Their staff actually takes the time to draw you a representation of what they will create and the results are on point! Once, we decided on how big and the design, the most important part, the cake taste and flavor! We had done some individual research and scheduled other vendors, but almost all of my friend's got their wedding cakes here so we waited to try them last. The location is a bit far out, and the strip center is not what you would expect, but the results are in that first bite. After tasting their amaretto we were sold! This is one of their signature flavors and it's so good! We had tasted a lot of other places' strawberry filling and knew we also wanted that. Their strawberry rendition was up there with the others so we knew which 2 flavors we wanted. And when I say that their cake is delicious, let me dare say it's up there with Whole Food's Berry Chantilly! And if anyone knows me, that is the Mt. Everest of cakes in my opinion. The day of the wedding, the cake arrived and it was simple beautiful, a piece of edible art! The cake was so darn delicious, that I actually ate leftover cake as one of my first meals together as a couple. Cakes by Gina are very good and I like how they set up a cake tasting for you, while they are preparing a cake design. Though, I have to say the whole experience was awfully awkward. Upon arrival, I was seated with Stephanie, a sales associate. I was offered hot tea and a glass of water for my niece. I would say I was there for a good 45 mins and my hot tea never came out... moving on. However, I was reminded twice that it was coming. I showed Stephanie the simple designed I had wished and she sat there drawing the cake. It was rather quiet between all of us... and then she passes me a slip of paper to fill out which types of cakes I would like to try. I think I had tried about 5 different types of cakes. All of them were well made and very moist, which was great! The reason why I took away a star was due to the awkwardness. Sitting there trying each cake in front of a sales associate, she being there to watch our judgement... it was fairly quiet during the whole process. Also, the price quote was pretty pricey for the price I had asked for. Nothing fancy nor intricate. The fact that it's a $125 delivery for the nearest place... meaning that even if it was down the street (which it is) it is still $125. I thought this was fairly ridiculous. Arrived and was greeted immediately by staff, gave her the name and she was going to bring my cake right out. Place was crowded and newly weds all around doing tasting. I was here 10 years ago with my wife also for our wedding cake. The taste and flavors is still the same and we always get asked "where is this cake from?!?" Only issue when ordering by phone, they need to say exactly what something means, as we leave the baking up to the professionals. My wife was told if she would like "heavy icing" or "semi icing", well she went with the semi icing, because we do not like a thick layer of icing, and for heavy icing, there was an up charge Of $50. I got the cake and even questioned the person, why does it look like that and she said, "that's how it was ordered" I wasn't going to have them remake it anyways or want to get an extra charge, so I took the cake and left. Wife questioned it as well and I let her know what they said. Well how am I supposed to know this is what they mean?? But besides that miscommunication, the cake was fantastic!!! read more

The CBG team is amazing!!! Frances is literally the best, most creative and professional business owner, Baker, decorator, et al.... The CBG team did a fantastic job for my little sister's baby shower. I sent Frances Pinterest ideas and our color scheme, her team turned it around with their own creativity and knocked it out of the park. I highly recommend the macaroons!! Also, not every bakery will take the time to let you come taste test, offer mimosas or champagne and let you try whatever treats you want for free. Best part....I called about 2 weeks before the event, Frances was all booked the Saturday before for tastings. She opened early just to fit us in. Incredible customer service. Don't go anywhere else! This place is a hidden gem. I looked them up in Yelp on a Wednesday and had an appointment by Friday. Surprise surprise they're right down the street from my house. Yesenia was very helpful. I already had my design she gave me a few samples to taste. Yum!! The Vanilla Buttercream is AWESOME!! loads of flavor and the strawberry cream filling was great as well. We were seated with water and cake samples. She sketched out the design for me and we went over all the details. The appointment last for 30 min. I chose Cakes by Gina for my wedding cake and I am so happy with my decision. My wedding was actually exactly one year ago from today so I am currently eating the top tier cake that is supposed to be saved for the 1 year anniversary. I realized I never wrote a review for how wonderful my experience was so here I am. Overall the staff was very friendly. I never did get to meet Gina but the ladies that assisted me throughout the entire process from cake tasting, designing my cake, working with my last minute requests, and delivering my cake were all wonderful. Everyone at my wedding complimented the cakes design and taste and stated it was wonderfully moist and delicious without being too sweet. My only complaint would be the price. I'm very disappointed in my experience with my wedding cake tasting. I have celiac disease and it has been very hard to find a place that had gluten free cakes. Allegedly this place had great gluten free options... unfortunately I was only able to try their chocolate flavor. I made this appointment over a month ago and double checked that I would be able to try multiple gluten free options and was told they would have gluten free options ready for me to try. Upon arrival, I was informed that they only had gluten free chocolate to try but I could come back tomorrow to try the other options. She told me that she did not even inform the kitchen to have gluten free ready since they should just always have it. I live over an hour away so that was very inconvenient. The chocolate gluten free cake was dry and bitter. The icings and fillings were wonderful but I am very disappointed with the actual cake. I can't believe I haven't reviewed Cakes by Gina yet! We used them for our wedding (July 2018) for a wedding cake and groom's cake. From the cake testing several months prior to the cakes on our actual wedding day, everything was perfect!!!! They were able to incorporate the designs of both of my wedding dresses into the cake (one was a red ornate dress for our Hindu ceremony and one was a white lace dress for the Christian ceremony), it was so cool to do that! The cakes were DELICIOUS! And I am not just saying that. My mom had even warned me, "wedding cakes may look pretty but usually they taste awful"..NOT the case with Cakes by Gina! People still talk about how good our cakes were even a year later! Fast forward one year: On our one year anniversary I was actually in the ICU and I was so disappointed that we weren't going to be able to have our one year top cake tier (and it had gotten thrown away by the hotel) I emailed Cakes by Gina and they baked a brand new identical top tier for us free of charge! Now that is amazing customer service!!! I will forever be a supporter/customer of Cakes by Gina and refer all of my friends and family to them! read more

Went in there with my fiance a month or so ago to look at wedding cakes and perhaps it was the woman helping us but we had a horrible experience! I don't exactly remember her name but I believe it was Angel... First of all, she seemed like she was on multiple xanax and had the most monotone personality/voice of any "sales" person i've ever dealt with. She had no smile and no excitement about helping us pick our dream wedding cake and really made the whole experience feel like nails on a chalkboard and awkward for my fiance and I. Coupled with the fact that the cakes were SUPER expensive and the fees were outrageous (for instance, we were quoted $250 for a delivery here and ended up getting it for $25 at another cake place much further away) The cake itself is good and the storefront is nice and they have a cool instagram wall. But not worth dealing with someone who doesn't even seem like they enjoy being there or helping you with this special moment coupled with the high prices was really a downer. Maybe you'll get lucky and not get the same zoned out sales woman (sorry "cake designer") we got though. The groom's cake was a Maker's Mark bourbon barrel topped with a cigar box full of cigars. It was so life-like!! I think it received more attention the night of our wedding than the actual wedding cake. The design on the wedding cake was inspired after the the lace of my gown, and it was almost a perfect match. I loved the flavors and the designs. But after so much work on their part I don't understand how someone could have not caught that this is not ivory, not even close. It breaks my heart to see these photos and to know that it was something so easily avoided. Fantastic cakes and customer service. We got our bride's and groom's cake here. The consultation was great and they let us have more cake flavor's to taste than we got at others places. It really came down to the cake was awesome and we were quoted less than at the competitors we went to. We started off just getting the bride's cake, which we ordered two different flavors, marble cake and bridal white with raspberry filling for the different tiers. They were great when my mother in law decided my husband needed a guitar cake at the last minute. They created it from pictures that we sent to them. His mom didn't want it to be small so it was order with the same amount of servings as the bridal cake. See if you can compute this, with both of the cakes there were at least 500 servings. We only had about 200 people in attendance. We only had the cake that we ate in the wedding pictures. So we were looking forward to having some great cake leftovers, but guess what? There was absolutely none left! I would say those cakes had to be amazing if 200 people ate 500 servings of cake! Two friends at my wedding booked Cakes by Gina for theirs, so all of this has to say something! We were also very grateful that Cakes by Gina gives you a replica of your cake topper for your one year anniversary. It was great because ours did not survive a blackout. I still remember the cake tasting like it was yesterday because they were some of the most delicious, moist cakes I've ever had. It was really difficult to pick!
