Biggest critic was the lack of cinnamon in the cinnamon bun - this one is the opposite. There is cinnamon in every single bite - they even do the cinnamon-sugar on the bottom of the pan to ensure the crusty sweet goodness on their buns! This is definitely in my top list of cinnamon buns. The dough is so good and soft, the icing is to die for, and you know you'll get cinnamon in every bite just by looking at it! This is where I'll be going from now on when I don't want to make a batch at home! I also got the cookie butter cheesecake - how have I lived my life this long without trying this? Cheesecake, caramel and cookie butter in every bite! The cheesecake is super fluffy and I can't wait to try more of their flavors. I got my husband an ooey gooey chocolate chip cookie and we were both delighted with the flavor - it's the perfect balance of browned butter and bittersweet chocolate! He can't wait to give their oatmeal raisin cookies a try. For five in the evening, this place was hopping by the time I left. There was initially one person ahead of me and one behind the counter and as folks came in, two more came out the back to help! Everyone was super friendly and helpful! The shop itself is cute! I love walking in to see display case after display case of baked goods - all of them looking amazing! They also sell ice cream and coffee here! Definitely a bakery I will be frequenting often!

I was pretty taken aback by how many dessert options they had. Not only did they have a plethora of types of desserts, but they had sooo many flavors/varieties of each one. A dozen different variations of cheesecakes, several cupcake varieties, a dozen different kinds of macarons, several different cakes, tiramisu, tres leches, banana pudding, edible cookie dough, more cookies than I could name, brownies, eclairs, and more that I'm sure I have forgotten. If you can name it, I'm sure they have it. I've been looking for somewhere nearby to get a proper macaron (as opposed to a hard, macaron shaped cookie without the traditional texture) at a reasonable price point. This definitely met those criteria, so of course we tried a flower shaped macaron. It had the perfect, delicate cookie and that classic, light almondy flavor. We also had a brownie batter cookie, which was delicious and reminds me of something I would have saved on Pinterest a decade ago but never gotten around to making, much less as well as they do. Though there was a line inside, we were served super quickly by friendly staff, and found a nice seat outside in the sun. They also had abundant indoor seating. Maybe I'm the last one to hear about Sweet Dough and everyone else has been a fan, or maybe it's a true hidden gem. Either way, I will 100% be back.

This was disappointing, as I paid my extra for the oat milk, yes, but also because I don't really want a latte in general without it. Regardless, it was too late, so I just told them to do it with 2%. The latte was okay but I didn't love it. It mostly tasted sweet and like cinnamon. Which I guess is more or less what carrot cake tastes like? The menu said it came with a cream cheese cold foam or whipped cream (I don't remember which) but it came out with plain whipped cream. The espresso was a little bitter - maybe burnt or shocked. The macaron was gorgeous, but didn't have a macaron taste or texture. It was hard like cookie. A macaron should be light and airy, and the shell should almost collapse under a bite. I had to chomp through this one. I am not sure if it was stale, a bad batch, or if their "macarons" are just "macaron shaped cookies" by design.

I also loved the buttery crust. The White Chocolate Raspberry was rich and creamy, with the tang of the raspberry exactly where and when you need it in every bite. We stopped by their soft opening this week and everything was outstanding. The original High Point location is solid. It's very convenient to have one on the north side of Greensboro up here in Summerfield. The set up is super cool. It feels like you're in a baker's kitchen. The cabinets, countertops, and overall decor give it a homey feel. I spoke with the owner, who mentioned they're still getting everything ready and don't have all the options out yet. But even today, the selection was already huge: pastries, cakes, cookies, ice cream, ice box cakes, macarons, you name it. Plus a full lineup of coffees, both seasonal and classic. We went with a magic bar and a seasonal pumpkin blondie, both moist and super flavorful. Everything is made in house and completely from scratch. Coffees were delicious as well. A macadamia nut decaf latte and a banana bread latte, both tasty and mixed perfectly. Service was super friendly too. What was really unique is that they asked whether we preferred a crunchy end piece or a soft inner piece. A really nice touch. Since we're right around the corner, we'll definitely be visiting often whenever the sweet tooth strikes. Whether it's for a cozy breakfast and coffee or an afternoon or after dinner dessert stop.

I needed a birthday gift delivered to someone special in NC from all the way out here in Mississippi and My Mini Bakes was the bakery of choice. Here's why: The person I spoke to via Facebook helped me to arrange the delivery, choose the right sweets and made payment a total breeze! It was confirmed that the sweets were amazingly good and super delicious. Thank you MMB for baking the most yummy dark chocolate cupcakes and oreo/peanut butter cup stuffed chocolate chip cookies!
