Every time I've taken my vehicles in, I've always got very honest feedback and he's even been willing to show me what the issue is in person before they fix it so that you know what they're actually fixing because a lot of people think that mechanic shops rip off which a lot of them do, but I really like that he does show you exactly what is wrong with the vehicle. His prices are OK, but you have to keep in mind that he gets his parts from Napa or AutoZone and occasionally from the dealer if they're not available from there. For the fast service that they do the price is definitely worth it especially if you need to get to work without waiting for a long time. I referred friends family. We've probably had well over 10 vehicles there before and have never had an issue. And like I said, if you're unsure about what he's talking about when it comes to something that might be wrong with your vehicle, ask him to show you. Keep in mind if he says something needs to be replaced soon in your vehicle. He's trying to make sure that you're aware that something is going out or wearing out on your vehicle and needs to be replaced soon. He's not necessarily saying you need to replace it today or your car's gonna break down. But like I said, I would 100% recommend him to anyone else you could take your car in any day and almost every time get it back same day or even next day. read more

Needed some repairs done on my class c motor home and was having trouble finding a mechanic that would work on it. Took my car in for an oil change and transmission flush. I was surprised I was outta there in an hour. I would have given more than one star, but.... They told me my front and rear brakes pads needed to be replaced and my rear struts were leaking. They said that the pads were at 10% and needed to be replaced before the metal hit the rotors. Total estimate was near $1000, this was including the oil change and transmission flush. I had taken my car to another shop to get a second opinion. They took a look at the brake pads and showed me there was still 40-50% left on all of them and they did not need to be replaced at this time. The "rear struts", which my vehicle has rear shocks, were not leaking as bad as Cal Automotive had said. Never again will I take any of my vehicles back there. They just wanna replace parts when they don't even need replacing just to make money. read more

I called this place for an estimate on my car. The person I spoke to somewhat arrogantly told me to hold on the phone for the estimate. When he came back on the phone he gave me a figure which sounded a little bit outrageous considering I had already researched the part which was only $158 from AutoZone. I may have been born at night but it wasn't last night and I'm not going to pay $850 for something I had done down the street at Ricks for $500 even. If you want to get ripped off for 40% more than what it actually cost to fix your car go to Cal automotive. Total rip off. read more

Just make sure to be very specific. I went here because I had an oil leak. To my knowledge, they fixed the leak. But my car takes fully synthetic oil and according to them, they put conventional oil in... Because I didn't tell them to use synthetic. This is semi-understandable.. except not really. From a business point of view I would think that they would use synthetic (it's more expensive). And if an engine is capable of using two different types of oil, I would think that a mechanic would specify with the customer. Guess not. I am not impressed with the lack of communication (on both ends), but I believe that they should have double checked with the consumer. read more

After a misdiagnosis down the hill at the GM dealership, I was able to coax my suburban up the hill where Cal Automotive diagnosed a bad fuel pump on a five minute drive. They have now worked on two of my vehicles. They are professional and reasonable. Cal Automotive is the company that will be servicing all of our vehicles. read more
