I came in today, last minute, on a recommendation from my cousin, and I couldn't have been happier! Last week I had a noise sound when I would drive my car. I was told by one mechanic it was the axel so I took it to Les Schwab's and they told me it was the transmission. My brother told me to bring it to unique auto care he's taken his daughter's car here and they fixed the problem and didn't even charge him full price. So I came in left my truck and they got back to me same day and found out the problem was the starter. They said my transmission was good...they even waived the diagnostic fee and just charged me for fixing the starter. Javier and the guys were super friendly and took care of me and made me feel safe bringing my truck here especially after I have been done dirty by other mechanics in the past. The worst part of relocating is finding a good and honest mechanic!! :( I LOVE my car! And I LOVE my L.A. based mechanic that I've had for about half a decade who is the most talented and experienced mechanic I have ever met... who is just about as honest as Jesus...and has actively PROVED that fact to me time and time again! But NO, I'm 100 miles from my usual guy in uncharted territory, so I just had to jump right in and TRY someplace NEW....which is probably why YOU are checking out yelp for yourself...right now! Am I right??? He he! Fear not....you are on the right track! ;) Javi is the Tec who helped me out...great smile! :) Lol! Still, I was VERY hesitant. My husband tried and tried to fix his AC on his 2007 truck that would not blow air for shit. He bought a new blower and troubleshot for abt a week and could NOT figure it out! So we dropped it off. Meeting Javi for the first time I looked him dead in his eyes and let him know that "I'm a good person!" ..."I give to charity!"... "I ain't never hurt nobody!"...(all true!) PLEASE don't rip me off! Lol! :p I let him know that I'd be a loyal fan FOR LIFE if they would only be HONEST.... and I meant it! Granted.... I did NOT like the diagnostic fee as my long-time mechanic who is also Certified and based in Torrance ( an expensive area) NEVER charged me anything to tell me whats wrong. Still, I notice a LOT of shops up here charge a diagnostic fee... and I DO understand how unfair it would be for them to work hard to find out your problem for free... only for you to just up and Jet afterwards!! So I cautiously rolled with it...said a couple of prayers...and dropped off the truck. About 3 hours later Javi called us back! And after a thorough inspection it turned out to be a simple burnt out fuse that my wonderful husband overlooked! (Eye roll) Such a simple fix and a BIG mistake on my husbands part BUT nobodys perfect! (Especially my husband! Lol!) What I greatly appreciate is the shop being HONEST with us! Because they could have easily added or invented any little thing to jack up the price. BUT all we paid for was the diagnostic fee and a fuse! That was FAIR and were HAPPY! Afterwards, I spoke to Javi about my DEEP hesitation with trusting a NEW mechanic. I told him I believe in KARMA and religion... and I believe in just treating people right in general and being a good " human being" when he revealed the several Bibles stashed around the shop and how they also believe in Karma and religion. Pretty DOPE stuff! :) As some people dont believe in a damn thing except money and are inherently bad people! ( who will burn in hell hopefully, lol) Our conversation was quite refreshing and he is a very personable person if I must say so myself! Dare I say, "trustworthy?" He he! ;) But for real...My HEART will ALWAYS be with my boy Alex of L-Spec as he is a literal piece of car fixin' white gold! I had my brother's car serviced as I have used it for a very long trip and it is indicating a need for a service maintenance. I did ask a family's mechanic to take a look at the car at his home. Thinking about affordability but undermining the quality of work. I called around and was referred to Unique Auto Care of their ability to address on the car's electrical issues. They checked the car's problems and provided me a quote which is not affordable - I mean the auto parts are cheap but not the labor. The quotations were laid transparently in the bill afterwards. Took my car to them to fix, while I waited they were so nice, they went beyond on helping me with getting info for my rental . They were stuck on phone with insurance for over an hour, and still did everything they can to help. Insurance kept hanging up on us after they had us on hold for over an hour and unique employee was still calling to help me get what I needed. Employee went out of his way to take me home and also took me to get Rental. They go above and beyond for there customers. I for sure will be bringing all my cars to them for now on. read more

These people are the most dishonest in the industry I took my car to get the freon refilled they charged me about $350.00 and said the freon didn't take that there was a code showing and it could be the hybrid batteries and that I needed to pay them about $750.00 just for the diagnostic alone so I took my car to a reputable place where they ran the diagnostic for FREE and there was no such code they checked the entire A/C system and found no leaks no malfunction it was just empty and only charged me $150 to refill the freon now my car's A/C is perfect Unique Auto Care did absolutely NOTHING but robbed me of my money PLEASE, PLEASE don't take your vehicle there they're just THIEVES!!!!!!!!! Relatively new to the high desert and was looking for a place to get an oil change and my brakes checked. After calling several places I stumbled upon this location and I'm very glad I found it! I talked with JAVIER who was very friendly and very informative throughout the whole thing! A few months before bringing my car to this location I took it to another shop where they supposedly put new brakes and fixed everything. But clearly that wasn't the case since it still had issues. I let Javier know this and after inspecting it he explained why it had those issues (lazy work, cheap parts. Got ripped off). He gave his recommendations and got to work on the car. First off, the guys here are really nice. So I was very disappointed to find out I got ripped off by them. They did a power wash on my car and replaced the belt for $700. Then they said it would cost $3,000 to fix all my oil leaks. I found a local mechanic that just finished my car this week and only charged me $560. My car is running like new and I have no more oil leaks. Not only was the power wash from Unique Auto Care not good, I shouldn't have been charge anything near $700 for the little amount of work I had done on my car. We brought our car to them because it had a water pump leak. Charged us 850.00 They claimed to have repaired it but one of the guys working there said if we tried to drive it , it would still overheat! They claimed it has 2 leaks..So it wasn't fixed at all! Then we paid an additional 750. 00 for a water "leak" repair and low and behold it lasted 2 Weeks! Never gonna go here again. I recently went in with my friend to Unique Auto Care because he needed his car to be checked out. It was making a funny, squeaky noise every time he touched the brakes. So I bought a 1956 F100 in Big Bear and had lofty aspirations of driving my newly acquired vehicle back home to Oregon. What is it that John Steinbeck said, "The best laid plans of mice and men... often go awry!" Man could that not be more true. I started having over heating issues coming down the North side of Big Bear. I was able to limp it to Victorville and on the tip of a local I had my truck towed to Unique Auto Care and met Alberto G. and his wife and the crew of Unique Auto Care. Great bunch of guys. As a traveling guy finding a shop that you can trust feels like picking winning lottery ticket numbers. However, lady luck smiled on me and Unique auto took awesome care of me. They treated me like family from the get go. They realized the situation I was in and were kind enough to drive me to a local hotel and also pointed out some local eats I should try out (Thanks for the tip on Apollo's Burgers - What an absolutely legit burger). So Alberto told me what all he was going to do and kept me apprised of the situation at every step and there were no surprises at all. Talk about a straight up guy. I was pretty much between a rock and a hard place and Alberto and his crew took amazing care of me. I wish he would move to Oregon so that I could have a shop I trust emphatically up here but that is me being selfish.
