I know this place may not seem very fancy but it definitely got the job done. I called ahead of time and ask them how much it would be to cut my hair that it was mid length my back for a trim. They told me $35. When I got there, they cut my hair and gave me the same price. They told me over the phone. I respected them for doing that because I hate when people say one thing but then change it when you're there in person. I only got a haircut. No shampoo or styling. Just the haircut itself. my adult daughter & I went to get our hair done: I specifically asked Nancy to keep the length as long as possible, apparently Nancy decided I need approx 7 inches cut off!! so, now I have short hair. my daughter went to Mary for hair color, which started off slow & ended up completely wrong, Mary took so so so long to get started 1 1/2 hours to put 1/2 the head of foil with dye, finishing a very long 3 1/2 hours later, she told Mary that she was very unhappy with the color, it was not what I had asked for. Mary did not listen, she continued to take her sweet time & not listen. She charged extra $$ for her mistake. it was a completely awful experience, Nancy, came over and looked at the situation & told them to discuss it. I am sure she touched my daughters hair with the same comb she was using on another customer. my daughter was in the chair in crying & Mary said nothing. overall - HORRIBLE - shameful read more

I feel like I'm in a library...but...I'm reading peoples heads Some hairstyles look like they don't belong on people.. In one photo..hair is all tied up in knots.....What? Like for a dog....or maybe a horse...who knows??? And Just who ties their hair in stylish knots anyways? Back to my friend's head....geeeez...why me? I love this place. The owner, Nancy is so sweet and professional, but most of all she can cut men's hair. I will admit, I was nervous at first because I'm use to young barber dudes cutting my hair, but when the pandemic kicked in, I could not get an appointment at my regular barber. Nancy has been cutting my hair for 1.5 years now and I won't go anywhere else. She can fade, taper, and she gets down with a comb over. Giver her a try. You won't be dissatisfied. read more

Worse location I've tried so far. This is the first and last time I will get my hair done here. I know hairstylists have their own likes but I do believe they should also know what the client wants and needs. My hair was super long before getting the cut. I wanted to go really short. Therefore I started telling her what I want and like. I even show her a picture of my own past cuts. While telling her my needs and wants she gave her thinks/suggestions, which at some point I will call it communication but I did tell her to please go with as close as possible with my picture. But obviously she decided to stick with her own design. She stated that she will cut it a bit longer first and If I wanted shorter she could do it after. I understand that once you cut it too short there is no way of going back. She cut my hair 2 times and refused to cut it even shorter. She was complaining when she was cutting the 2nd time. Is she not good at cutting short hair? Or is she not professional? My hair now looks awkward/weird and uneven! One side is even sticking up. This review is for your own reference only. Hope it helps you finding a good hairstylist. I wish there is a 0 star rating I could give! Looking for another hairstylist that could fix my hair now! I came to this place twice. The first time, Nancy took me in right away without an appointment. The second time, I made an appointment and I did not get seen until half an hour later! When Nancy finally came to get me and apologized saying she did not want to make one of her client's friends wait even though the friend did not have an appointment. I was bewildered at how she would let someone who did not make an appointment go before someone who took the time to make one. I had a lot to do that day and purposely made an appointment so I wouldn't have to wait! Guess that was useless! Not only do they not honor appointments, but the floor was gross with hair all over. I had to walk over the hair that was cut right before me. Not coming back to this place. Supercuts treated me better. read more

My old hairstylist moved to Washington and I didn't know what to do. Finding someone you trust with your hair can be scary! I called and was able to make an appointment the next day with Nancy and she welcomed me with the biggest smile. She took her time to ask what I wanted and even cut less to make sure I still wanted to go shorter, then proceeded to cut to the length I desired (ended up cutting off 6-7 inches). Very thorough, and made sure to ask for details before going to work. The salon is clean, everyone was friendly, lots of parking and Nancy was wonderful! I enjoyed having a hair lady that I texted or called for appointments. Though more expensive than necessary for my purposes, I fancied we had a little history (6 or 7) years, though for most of that time I only got about 3 haircuts every two years. So that's why it didn't matter much that it cost more than a basic cut. But I decided I had to bring it to an end when I made the mistake, after she had run late again, and I was in a bit of a hurry, of asking her about her meatballs, and she stepped back from the chair and did about 8 minutes of material on the meatballs before returning to my noggin. Honestly, I wish it were socially acceptable to close my eyes and say no words throughout a haircut. Enter Cal Hair Salon. I did not close my eyes and say no words, but my first haircut here was fast, and the only words exchanged consisted of "like that," pointing at a photograph of another dude's head, after my instruction, "shorter," was held to lack sufficient detail. And then, "that's good, thanks." Meantime, I enjoyed quietly while the somewhat matronly vietnamese lady made me less shaggy. The more recent time, a different, somewhat matronly, yet more talkative, vietnamese lady did it. But though she talked more, she snipped fast. Real fast. Quick, easy, and they won't tell you about their meatballs. And for a feller, I think it's 12 or 13 bucks. Not bad! read more

This is the first time I have ever gone to this hair salon! I was already in the neighborhood visiting my optometrist and my hair was dead and in deep need of a haircut. I walked in and they took me right away. My hairstylist was named Theresa and I asked her to give me long layers with a V shape haircut, and to cut off any split ends I had. After she was done, I was so impressed! She was extremely friendly; both of the ladies who worked that day were, and I LOVE my hair now. I have relatively thin hair, and she did a great job making my hair appear thicker with the layers! I will definitely be coming back! I highly recommend this hair salon! read more
