Forced to use CHC due to my warranty company. First time they came a year ago they never fixed the toilet because they were waiting on parts. When I followed up they said the ticket was closed. Now I placed a service request with my warranty company and they send CHC out again. Joe was really nice and nothing against him but their office is hard to get a hold of anyone. They do not return messages within 48 hours. Now it has been over 2 weeks and still no parts. I can't believe that there are no parts when I can go to the hardware store down the street and see an aisle full of 3 piece faucets and shower diverters. read more

This is the worst company I ever worked with. If I could I would give them 0 stars. They said that there's a lot of water in our basement (there were, but the water drained by itself to the soil) and we need to drain it with a restoration company, before they start working on our leak. We stopped using water and when restoration company came, they said there's nothing to drain. They can only do some sanitization to prevent molt, which will cost $700 and it's not covered by home warranty. So they tried to force us using this restoration company. At the end the plumber from this company Joe told us do not use water for 3 days and after that he'll come and fix the leak. But he never showed up, however he promised and even asked us to by a shield for him, so he can lie not on the ground. I recommend all who reads this review to avoid this company! Our problem is still not resolved and no one even cares that we have at home 2 newborn babies. They just ignore us!!! read more

Worst company to ever work with I would give a 0. they missed reported to the home warranty company tomorrow morning telling me one thing and doing another Max even offered to come back if I would pay him cash to do the work if the company didn't approve it. And when I asked him to put in what he told me he still didn't saying sewage would damage when the toilet did drain everything out of it and there was no sewage. Now I've hired a new company to put clean outs in. If they were a good company he would've gone that business. Do not pick them. read more

My shower and toilet started to leak at the beginning of California's shelter in place due to Covid-19. Being the paranoid person that I am, I did not want anyone coming into our home. A month later they were still leaking and then a second toilet starting leaking. So I gave in and called my warranty AHS. CAL-HOME called me the same day to set up an appointment for the next day. Tony came and accessed the problems and let me know he would fix everything during this visit. He left to get parts which I appreciate because in the past where ever I deal with contractors from the warranty company they always say they need to order parts and then return a week or more later. I also appreciate that he wore shoe coverings, a mask, and gloves. Overall we had a great experience with Tony. read more

If I could give ZERO stars, I would! These guys came to fix two running toilets. One toilet was fixed, the guy said he would need to come back the next day to fix the other one. (he had to get a part) My husband took the day off from work and the guy never showed up! I called at least 5 times which their phone goes straight to voicemail, always. I asked them to leave me a "detailed phone message" since I wasn't able to reach anyone live and also because I work and could only talk while on break or my lunch. She called back once and said she was returning my call and that was it. Two weeks later with NO additional communication whatsoever, even though I had left multiple messages. I finally get a second call from this company while I'm at work. We set an appointment for 3/18/19 4pm-8pm. Well... I took time off from work (I do not get paid) and again, a NO SHOW with no communication whatsoever! This is the WORST company ever. So unprofessional! Buyer Beware, Stay away! I had a leak from the cold water valve in my shower. My home warranty company assigned Cal Home to do the repair. The valves are very old, and I had fears that the tile would have to be broken out to make the repair. Max showed up on time, took one look at it, went out and got his tools. He had in taken apart in no time, and the parts were all terribly coroded. He had a replacement valve on his van and quickly installed it. In removing the valve handle, it was destroyed. So he went to Home Depot and got a kit, replacing both handles. He cleaned everything up and left it very clean. Highly recommend Cal Home. read more

The worst plumbing contractors that I ever had to deal with. I waited several day to find out from another source that my home warranty did not cover my toilet install, it would be an out of pocket expense, which I would be willing to pay. The plumber Tony arrived at my home and said that he did not have a part to install a new toilet in the main bathroom. The floor installers could not put the original toilet back on. I bought a new toilet because I was going to replace it anyway. Tony told me when he get the part he would call me to reschedule the install. A waste of my time waiting between the hours of 11 - 3 p.m. and $75 service fee. I thought that was shady anyway because I never met a plumber that does not have a part on hand or can get one quick, six days later and still no toilet installed, calling their office twice to find out a status and receiving nothing but a voicemail and no return phone call, I called my home warranty company to report Tony and Cal-Home Construction. read more

The rave reviews about Joe on here are completely true, he is most definitely an asset to this company! He showed up on time with a friendly, professional and positive attitude, making it clear that he would do everything he could to get our clogged drain unclogged. We have been without a functioning kitchen sink drain for ma week and a half, having a different company out here twice, leaving our issue unresolved. Working on the most obvious area first, Joe fixed our clogged drain in a minimal amount of time. He also didn't leave until he was sure the water was running through and not backing up. I can tell Joe takes pride in what he does and truly wants to help his customers. Customer service, like common sense, is a dying concept these days and to people like me that still value such things, it was refreshing to feel like our issue mattered to Joe and that he genuinely wanted to help and do the job correctly. Max from Cal-Home Construction is great. Had a service call with AHS with multiple plumbing tasks. Max fixed some and had to return for others due to parts needed. He is very friendly, detailed oriented and patient. Not only did he fixed all my problems but also explained many other plumbing questions, and even showed me how to DIY many things with a channel wrench.
