Carlos (LDS) came by the same morning we contacted them. Our water bill had increased significantly last month over our normal monthly averages. We suspected a leak. Carlos went over the potential issues and after a while we concluded that there was no leak (main water meter did not move at all over a test period), we let the hose on a bit and the meter moved, then stopped when we turned it off. Basically a game of waiting and inspecting both inside and outside our house. We will be using his report to send to EBMUD indicating that we think a error was made by the meter reader. Woke up to a cold Water Heater with a malfunctioning gas valve. Hopped on Yelp at about 7 AM for recommendations and Yelp's system recommend 5 local services. 1 Responded with "Unable to Service" 2 of the services responded with "call us" (ugh) The remaining two engaged via my chosen platform and Romeo was by far the most responsive. (still waiting quotes from the other) We worked through the issue, discussed repair options (this part was under warranty but would take several days if i took that route) and chose to go ahead with the repair not using the warranty. Within 4 hours, Local Drain Specialists had acquired the part and Carlos (and helpers) arrived at my place to start the install before noon. Carlos was very thorough and obviously had a good eye for this work. He professionally replaced the defective part, flushed my system, and answered any questions I had with the appropriate amount of technical detail I wanted. I ABSOLUTELY will have Local Drain Specialists on my short list next time i need plumbing / drain work done.
