Very unprofessional, was given a price of $80 for my smog, I was told if it doesn't pass I have 30 days to fix and bring back. After he was done with test he told me my timing was off and after market cat didn't have numbers so it failed, even tho everything else passed. I was charged $71 because no certificate was issued and was told to fix and bring it back and I'd only be charged $45 after. Terrible way of doing business! If there was a fee after, that should have been said before hand and not lie to make an extra buck. read more

The technician broke my glove box trying to get behind it to pug in a U shaped bent wire to check the timing. After braking my glove box and having full access, he didn't find what he was looking for and ended up using a timing light, like all the other smog test shops I've taken that car to over the years. He also had trouble determining what size the motor is and the timing setting and asked me as if I would know the timing setting. The technician denied braking the glove box so I called the owner and left a message. He has not called me back. Three thing are true. They broke my glove box. The technician is incompetent and dishonest and he owner has no honor. Avoid the place and use the other smog test shops in the area. read more

I was got my truck ready to pass my smog test at Brake Masters cause my check engine light was on. I was going to stop at the smog station just up the street but as I pulled in they needed to move a car out and so I had to pull back into the street to let the car out. So, I just went down the street, and was I glad I did! I arrived and there was no one in front of me, so I got right in. I had recently done work on the car, and had cleared existing codes from computer, unaware the car needed driven at freeway speeds to gather information needed for the test. If I could give them a 0 i would. Do not go here it is a rip off!! Had a smog check done here and everything passed but was still failed because of a "bad hose". After I left I also noticed that they had overcharged me as well. I took my car to the mechanic the next morning and the mechanic said the hose was perfectly fine and that if that hose was bad that it would set off a sensor. When I went back to retest and ask for a refund on the money I was overcharged I was told I had to wait until the guy that failed me came back in 3 days so they could decide on what to do and when I asked to speak to a manager I was told that she was never there and didn't want her phone number given to customers. I ended up going to another place for a second opinion that same day and my car passed. I'm currently filing a report with the state. read more
