When I explained that the engine was running smoothly before the oil change, I was again encouraged to leave and handle it elsewhere. After requesting to speak with a manager, the technician who had performed the service finally inspected the vehicle and identified the problem: the oil cap (oil capsule) had not been properly secured. This oversight caused a significant inconvenience and disrupted my schedule. While the technician who worked on my vehicle did apologize once the issue was discovered, the original employee I dealt with showed no accountability, offered no apology, and made no effort to resolve the situation.

I paid my bill and made an appointment for other problems I noticed with my car. It's nice to go to someone that cares about your safety with the quality work that they do at Del Mar Auto. Visited today 3/17/2026, after speaking with Matt the day before. I brought in brand new 21 inch Tesla rear wheels and Michelin PS4 tires for installation on my car. I drove over an hour from Chatsworth, California to this location so that they could use the Hunter Revolution machine, specifically to avoid damaging my wheels. Nevertheless, Matt, if it's his real name, severely damaged my new wheel near the wheel center cap area with the machine that was made to avoid this. How incompetent!!! He lied to my face and gave dull, illogical, dummy excuses about what happened. Bottom line: He damaged the wheel and would not acknowledge and take accountability for his actions. I had to call the police to make a record of this issue because I will be suing. The damage was caused because he did not apply the machine's plastic adapter when he clamped onto the face of the wheel; he clamped to the face of the wheel with metal to metal contact and severely damaged the paint.
