I found All Smog Test Only in an online search for a smog place near me. All Smog is located at a Shell station and it has one service bay/stall next to another that does oil changes. I got there around 9:30am today (Thursday) and was able to drive right up. Gary was very professional and the service was very fast - maybe 15 minutes from pulling in to leaving. I remained in my car during the service. The cash price was $49. When the service was completed, I received a coupon for $20 off any smog check. Overall, this was a convenient option for me and a very pleasant experience. I wouldn't hesitate to return in the future. read more

This place is great - not counting my small talk with the owner (Gary), I'd say the job was done in probably 10-15 minutes tops, and there was fortunately no wait when I arrived (no appointment). Because this facility is located within a gas station, maneuvering my car in and out for testing was not challenging at all. Only $45 cash (out the door) for the smog check (4D mid-size sedan), and unlike a nearby competing shop (that shall go unnamed), the owner of this shop did not attempt to elicit a gratuity (said unnamed competing shop also charged quite a bit more in 2023 for a smog test of the same vehicle - $58). Electronic submission of my passing smog test result was confirmed by DMV the same day, allowing my registration renewal to proceed unhindered. Found this location near me when searching on apple maps with great reviews. I came to have a star certified smog test to renew my vehicle. It is kinda connected to a Shell gas station. I came 30min before closing and asked first if I could get taken in and he kindly agreed. Gary really cares about people and has outstanding character. He values honesty and fairness. I went to get a SMOG test today at "All SMOG Test Only Star Station" located at the intersection of San Gabriel and Colorado Blvds within the Shell gas station. I was told it would cost $48 (via credit card) for the test and after about 10 min, the test was complete. The attendant wanted me to make payment, but I noticed that the report said that I needed a retest. When I asked why I needed the retest, he was unwilling to explain and insisted that I make the payment first. After some back and forth, he said the computers would not connect and that was not his problem (which made no sense to me). I looked at the report which indicated that after driving 50 - 100 miles, I could retest for another $35. It almost seemed orchestrated that he was trying to get more money from me from the get-go. Reluctantly, I still made the payment (even though I felt that I shouldn't have) but we exchanged unpleasantries and he told me not come back. I got charged $39.75 for nothing - I guess the cost is $8.25 less if you have to retest : 0. What a rip-off! I would give this SMOG station "zero" or even better "negative" stars, if possible. No way to run a business IMO. It would've helped if the guy was able to communicate in English properly. read more
