They offered an on-line, cash only coupon which made this PITA Calif process a breeze. One Prius ahead of me, waited in their outdoor sheltered lounge. No shenanigans, in and out in maybe 20 minutes total. Since I was in this part of town and saved a little money on my smog check, I also went to Louisiana Fried Chicken around the corner for a quick cheap lunch. After I left, I noticed that he actually charged me a couple bucks more than the coupon noted, but since I was already gone, and only need to get the car smogged every 2 years, it wasn't a big deal. Still a decent price for the smog check and love the convienece. Although I think our CA regulations of these smog checks are ridiculous, this is clearly not the fault of the venues. Rude: Very disappointing experience. The technician was rude and unhelpful. Unlike other places where techs run a preliminary check and offer advice to help you pass, this technician failed my car immediately without any guidance on how to fix the issues. Lacks Basic Knowledge & Consideration: This is bad because once a car fails, other techs often won't smog it, forcing you to return here. Re-Charges for Re Smog & Coupon Screw over: Re smogs after fail should be free if it's re smogged in 30 days. But, he said because I used his coupon from his website, to get smogged at his station (which initially saved me $30 bucks). He said he is re charging me for a re smog even though I brought it in literally a week later. He charged me another $40. For a re smog. Money Hungry: This "policy" seems designed to take advantage of customers. This smog tech clearly either lacks understanding or is just in it for self and financial gain. No consideration for a customer's needs. I hope future customers have a better experience, but I won't be returning. read more

We brought our vehicle in for testing and showed the cash only coupon from the website for $40. Our car passed the emissions part test but he could not test the computer because we had recently replaced the battery and it had not reset yet. He charged me $31 for the test and very clearly told me I needed to drive it around for a few days and bring it back to retest the computer (highlighted on receipt) and I would only be charged for the certificate, $8.75. We returned 4 days later, after driving 75 miles, and after the test passed he demanded $40 and claimed he never told me that. There are lots of convenient places to test in Pasadena, I would avoid this location at all costs, a total rip off and a dishonest business owner. I know what was told to me, and this is a complete bait and switch, after the fact. read more

When I first came in, I was under the impression that my fee would be $40 to pass the test. He charged me $31 for his work after my car failed the test the first time. I thought that after I did everything he said he would just charge me the remaining $9. Well, when I came back, he charged an ADDITIONAL $40. I showed him comparison coupons of other smog centers in the area, which showed that those companies would give a FREE retest if they did not pass the first time. The gentleman who assisted me was incredibly courteous. I had an online coupon that I did not read properly and when he finished I mentioned it to him. The coupon said to show it BEFORE service began. I admit that I was rude and entitled when asking him to allow me to use the coupon anyway. This man was a true gentleman... he never allowed my attitude to sway his own calm demeanor. He honored the coupon, stood his ground gently and firmly, and even turned my car around in the tight space it was in to make it easier for me to leave.
