As many here have reported, Gunder does excellent work, efficiently, with care for your property and at a reasonable price. The task I asked him to do today was to repair a bi-fold closet door that was stuck in the open position. Many door repair companies do not work on bi-folds, so I was very happy that Gunder approached it with confidence, quickly figured out the issue and successfully repaired them. He also repaired an interior door that wasn't staying shut. I am very pleased with the work he did and am already planning my next projects... Make sure you get the agreement in writing. We wanted a complete job, including materials/labor. Halfway through, Esau said that he needed more money for a "complete job." Esau gave one price, and then halfway through said that X, Y, and Z are not included.  The first day was good: Esau came for 1/2 a day, was early, and the start of the job looked like a clean job. The second day was going well. Since it was BEFORE HE GOT THE FIRST PAYMENT. I even bought lunch for Esau and another guy that was here doing work. At the end of the day, I asked Esau how he was planning on moving the appliances himself. He looked at me and told me that it wasn't included. Apparently his quote included drywall but did not include wall texture, trim, flooring (work or materials), painting (we said we had paint, so wanted labor only), or appliance setup.  I specifically remember telling him that we wanted flooring/painting done because we told him that paint did not need to be included in the cost since we had paint. I also remember telling him that we already looked for flooring in our storage and we could not find it, so we would need him to buy flooring that was similar to the flooring we already had installed. The claim that the trim/paint/texture not being included was strange: if you are extending a wall 8 inches or so, wouldn't it be logical to have the new 8" match the rest of the wall? He said that he was able to finish the job, but needed more money and that he would come back tomorrow morning with a new quote. I told him to not come back without an estimate of how much he would need to finish the job.  He agreed to text a new estimate that evening.  After we received the estimate, my H called Esau, and Esau said that whatever he charged was too cheap and he needed more money to finish. My H told him that what he was doing was not right because we remember discussing certain things that were now no longer included (flooring, painting) and to come get his tools that evening. When he came, I was listening to the conversation from the other room. Esau assumed we were Israeli and stated that "Israelis never wants to pay more." I was really bothered by this and tuned out of the conversation. I texted my H from the other room to tell him to not finish the job and find someone else. My H is much nicer than me and thought it was a miscommunication. The two of them made a NEW agreement on cost/materials/work.  Esau came for a third day. My H was not home yet when the job was done, so I showed him the work on FaceTime. He asked Esau to clean up the flooring job since it was sloppy. Esal said that the appliances would cover the sloppy flooring. My H paid him in advance for molding but he did not do molding in the inside area, where the "appliances would hide the walls." We asked Esau to fix the floor. ESAU said "job is done." We offered $100 less if he was not going to fix the mess or do the molding. Esau would not fix the floor and refused to leave so I called my H again. My H called him and told him to wait outside until he came home from work to discuss. Esau stood in my living room and told me he had to go home because he did not have lunch, and to send him the money. I told him to go to the garage and wait for my H and talk about it there, but he just stood there and wouldn't leave. When my H came home he refused to fix the work and then he finally left. That evening Esau sent my H a threatening text about "our people". Overall, a messy Slopasaurus Rex job. We had someone come today to do the molding and he pointed out that the wall Esau made is curved, which makes it hard to do molding. We gave money for some materials that were never purchased (molding for inside closet, rubber pads). See photos. This guy would probably be OK to change a light bulb, but not much more. read more

I made an appointment for him to repair my door and a curtain hanger after getting all the quotes. In the morning he is supposed to come, I asked him to confirm his arrival and he told me he can't make it. I rescheduled to another day and when the time came, he did not show up or gave me heads up that he is not going to make it. I called him and he said he's busy and won't be able to come and hung up on me without even rescheduling. Horrible communication and management to stay on top of his projects. We recently had our house treated for termites. Once the termites were gone, we needed to repair all of the damage they had done mostly around our widows, doors and garage. We've had Esau come by to help fix a few things, and every time he's been fantastic. First we asked him to help replace some floors that had been water damaged and a drawer that had been broken when we moved in. He came by to do an initial inspection, and gave us a quote that evening for materials and labor. The very next day he was back, replacing our bathroom floor. Since he was working by himself, it took parts of 2 days, but came out looking great. He was very communicative about when he would start each step of the process, and how long it would take. The drawer was a completely custom job, had to entirely build a new drawer. He managed to match the wood in our kitchen almost perfectly, and was willing to take the time to make minor adjustments to the drawer to make sure it fit perfectly. The price overall was very reasonable, and I'm very happy with how everything turned out. After this work was completed, we realized we needed to replace 2 windows and repair a third. Esau brought in 2 other guys to help replace while he repaired. All-in-all it took them less than 2 hours! Especially during COVID, it can be worrying to invite folks into your home to do work. Esau was always very respectful of wearing a mask and maintaining a safe distance. Overall, I'll absolutely be asking Esau to come back if we need any more work done in our home. 5 stars might not be enough to express how happy I am with the work done! read more

We contacted Esau on Friday for a simple window AC install and he/I both agreed of Scheduling it for Saturday 1-2pm. Saturday comes and we then get a call from him to push it up to 2-3pm. 3pm come and goes and this time no call/no show. After wasting the entire day waiting, we go about our plans and then he shows up out of no where at 5:30pm. Ok, so he's here and yes we're a bit bothered, but we need the install so we decide to proceed forward. After explaining to him on Friday (and texting him a photo of window) that it was a second story window and he needed a long enough ladder, he then tells us that the ladder he brought to the job site was not long enough, Lol. He then reschedules for a third time to the following day, Sunday 8am. It's now Sunday 9:20am we rearranged our existing plans to once again accommodate and for a second time NO CALL/NO SHOW!
