I absolutely loved having tea at the Calabash Garden Tea Room. From the minute I saw the little group of shops it's located in, I knew I'd enjoy it. It's adorable! We made reservations for the ultimate tea, and our table was ready for us when we arrived. Each person got a pot of tea (so many choices-- my mom had passion fruit and I had the caramel vanilla cake black tea. We also got a salad with the amazing homemade dressing and a tier of treats -- tea sandwiches, chocolate-covered strawberries, raspberry macarons and maple walnut scones (still warm!) with lemon curd and cream. These were the best scones I've ever had. It was $32 per person and the reservation required a credit card to hold, but it's cash only when you arrive. You could add soup for an extra charge. When I come back here, I will be taking the dressing and lemon curd home with me -- it wouldn't have fit in my luggage this time! While my mom and I were there, a group of moms with their daughters having a tea party with hats and all! So fun.

Visited with girl friends and wasn't exactly sure what to expect... We were greeted and seated as soon as we got in (I called in advance to make a reservation). We were asked to choose a tea and they have a lot of variety! We opted for mocha rocca, caramel, and blueberry. While waiting to be served, the lady told us we can pick out a hat to wear during the "tea party". We were all giddy choosing the right hat for our outfits! Once we were settled, we were then served with a small plate of salad, it was refreshing and tasty, perfect for that summer day. Then came the teas, and the 3-tier platter with goodies: sandwiches, scones, chocolate dipped strawberries and french macaroons. Everything was delicious!!! Service was awesome! It was such a lovely experience and I would love to come back!

Absolutely Tea-lightful! Every other review is spot on. My mom had been here before and she took me for the Ultimate Tea. The only other tea experience I had that was on par with this one was at The Grand Floridian at Walt Disney World. While similar, this experience was much better for a few reasons: the setting is much more intimate and quiet, the cost is significantly less, but most notably: The Calabash Garden Tea room has a closet full of fancy hats and they let you choose one to wear during your tea experience. How fun is that?? The menu full of tea selections is kind of daunting. I had a hard time deciding, but ended up choosing a spicy African blend, while my mom went with a more mild and fruity tea. Both were delicious and went so well with the courses of finger foods that was served with us. While we enjoyed all the little finger foods that was served to us, I can not stress enough how outstanding the scones were. They're served with both a delicious sweet cream and fruity preserve to spread on the scones, but they are perfect by themselves. They're located just off the main road in a woodsy area with some other cute little shops worth checking out. I can not wait to visit Calabash again and have another unique experience like this.

A hidden gem in Calabash! Be sure to make a reservation and go hungry. We were served a delicious tray of tasty tidbits, finger sandwiches and unique desserts along with the perfect selection of teas. This was the perfect way to spend some quality time with my mom in a lovely setting

My granddaughter, who is now 15 and myself enjoyed our tea lunch so very, very much! We used to go to a tea house in NC where she lives when visiting but unfortunately. Needless to say, being able to attend tea again here near my home in SC was great. Marie was a fabulous hostess and we loved all the food, tea and atmosphere. I will definitely return and encourage all visitors and locals to try this business! Thank you very much for a delightful afternoon memory.

My family and I visit Oak Island every summer, and we were devastated to learn that the Southport Tea House had closed. We decided to drive a little bit out of the way to try the Calabash Garden Tea Room, and we were not disappointed! What a relaxing and special experience. The venue is quaint, and the decor is adorable. We scheduled the ultimate tea, which was perfect. The food was absolutely delicious, and the presentation was beautiful. I highly recommend trying the Rose's Garden tea. We will be back soon, and this will become one of our new traditions!

If you have ever wanted to experience the existential dread of walking into a hoarder's basement…read morethat somehow serves overpriced caffeine, Then Beach Dreams Coffee Shoppe in North Myrtle beach is your destination. Stepping inside feels less like entering a local coffee shop and more like trespassing in a hostile, dusty museum dedicated entirely to one woman's deeply specific grievances and craft hobbies. The sanitary conditions are, to put it mildly, a health code violation waiting to happen. Sticky tables wobble on uneven floors, the espresso machine looks like it hasn't been descaled since the Obama administration, and the air hangs heavy with the scent of rancid oat milk and desperation. Of course, getting a coffee is practically secondary to the retail trauma. The counter is entirely overrun by a chaotic bazaar of questionable inventory: A baffling "plethora" of lumpy, unevenly cured homemade soaps that smell like regret and essential oils. Dusty shelves of over-priced CBD tinctures of dubious origin. Rock-hard muffins that appear to have been baked during the Mesozoic era and preserved strictly out of spite. The true beating heart--or rather, the throbbing vein--of this establishment is the owner, a chronically furious lesbian who treats every patron like an unwanted intruder. She patrols the room with a permanent scowl, aggressively policing the premises. She proudly displays her identity by wallpapering the joint with vintage vinyl records of various queer icons. Naturally, she keeps a public turntable right beneath them as a cruel taunt, because the moment you reach out a finger to admire or actually play one of the records, she materializes out of thin air, screams bloody murder, and threatens to banish you to the shadow realm. You cannot touch the records. You cannot enjoy a fresh muffin. You can barely breathe without triggering a glare--except for the absolute saving grace of the entire operation, Makayla. Makayla is a bright spot in this fluorescent-lit purgatory. Incredibly smart, effortlessly funny, and razor-witty, she somehow manages to pull phenomenal, expertly crafted coffee out of a poorly filtered machine while keeping her sanity intact. More than just a great barista, she is a joy to sit and hang out with, making you almost forget for a fleeting moment that the owner is lurking in the corner like a gargoyle ready to pounce. If you go, tip Makayla heavily, drink your coffee fast, don't look at the soaps, and don't you dare touch the records.

And y'know what: you can't get "overwhelming" selections of spices, teas, and sugars virtually anywhere else, so that's a GOOD thing. Every one offers a glass jar that you can open to "smell" the sugar/tea/spice you're thinking of buying. In the case of the teas, they will make you a hot/iced version of the tea (and charge for it, but it's surprisingly affordable) to try as well. After awhile, all of the scents kinda blend together (especially for like, hickory or smoked scents), but it's super cool and a ridiculous level of selection. They have smaller pouches, larger bags, or containers/jars for most items, letting you buy smaller quantities to try. I wanna say smaller pouches were starting around $6 (September 2025). They had quite a few blends of demarara sugars that are going to be great for cocktail garnishing. (Salted caramel sugar? Burnt espresso sugars? mmmm!) And my meat-loving friends picked up a ton of different stuff. Expect to spend a bit in here. There are SO many things to see. The basics are divided into various walls (teas separate from sugars, etc.), but their display tables of seasonal merch in the middle of the store require some careful perusal too. Staff was friendly, and they definitely know their stuff, but they clearly know people get overwhelmed and left us alone. I did not expect to pop into the store, but honestly, I'm super glad I did.

I have given it many opportunities, but it just keeps leaving me disappointed. 1) The service is usually extreeeemely slow. I once waited 35 minutes for a couple sandwiches and coffees. And the place wasn't even mildly busy. The staff just didn't care to prioritize the food orders. I almost left without my food I was so mad. But I still gave it another try! 2) The food is WAY overpriced for what you get. It's insane to have to spend $40+ on super basic cafe food. The crepes are also flimsy, inauthentic, and melt immediately, so don't bother getting them to go. 3) They don't even open until 9:00 am! Um... do they not know they are a coffee shop?! I've tried to go in the morning (when people drink their coffee), and they're closed. Insane to me. Overall, I think this place has potential, it just needs to step it up. It's in a GREAT location!
