Amazing prices on steaks and roasts. You can also get pre made beef meat balls, chicken breast, season chicken wings, pork tenderloin and fresh fish too. They have a freezer that also has frozen meats and packages of chopped up bacon bits for under $2!!!! I often get there jerky... again you cannot beat the price for the quality. The only down fall is they are not open during the summer so check there website to know when the start of the semester is!

They have a great selection of fresh meat, occasionally, fish, some sausages, some pre-seasoned options, and as well, in the past year, they've also had a variety of cheese. I love stopping in here because the meat is always fresh and prepared that week by the students in the retail meat program. And if you ever have any questions, the students and instructors that work in the shop are very knowledgeable and helpful! This is a great place to go if you live alone or just don't need a large portion of meat at any given time, as they do carry smaller portions of steak, ground beef, etc. I really enjoy their bacon, as it tends to be sliced a bit thicker than the ones you would typically find at the supermarket.

I would estimate there were 3-4 dozen people in line the entire length of the store and then snaking along the back wall. Then the GF cafe seating area reassembled a Costco food court, not a seat to be found. The line to the GF Cafe/Deli counter also had about 2 dozen people waiting. First impression.. unlike the old location,there's plenty of parking .. and the neighboring businesses are closed on Saturdays so there's even more available. Second impression.. when you walk in , unlike the old place , it doesn't have that butcher smell .. though I love that smell. It's a lot roomier and everything is spaced out to walk by . They have a good variety in the freezers and even some BBQs for sale . The butcher counter has a lot to offer and everything on display looked great . They even have a dry aging cabinet so you can see the aging process. They also have a coffee bar and a few tables to enjoy some coffee and a snack . Everything was reasonably priced . I went in for lamb shoulder for a stew. They only had leg meat left. The girl who served me seemed…read moreindifferent and not very helpful. When I asked if the leg meat would do for a stew she said yes it would and would be just as good if not better. I spent $75 on 3 lbs of prepackaged lamb leg (I only needed 2 lbs). Thankfully I researched the difference between leg meat and shoulder meat when I got home or I would have wasted a lot of that meat. Turns out lamb leg doesn't work as well as shoulder for a long-simmered stew. Shoulder needs to be simmered for a long time, as my recipe instructs, where as leg meat gets tough and chalky if simmered for too long. Why didn't she know this? Really disappointed in this place. Overpriced for a butcher that knows very little.
