This is the disclaimer that Calavan Jeep snuck onto my service receipt. Shenanigans!
Alison S.

If dgaf had a twin it's this place. Before they became Calavan Jeep, customer service meant more to the team here than now. And I haven't just had 1 bad experience that left me with this impression. It's been a slow decline of decent level service over the past 36 months. I took my Jeep in for an oil change on a Saturday morning 6 weeks ago and while changing my oil the mechanic cracked a component that houses my oil which resulted in me having an oil leak. No one from the service department informed me of any issues occurring and I discovered my oil leaking on my own from the huge spot in my driveway. What they did do though was place a disclaimer on the back page of my receipt (shown below) stating that the dealership isn't responsible for any cracks, etc. or anything aside from the requested service. This statement has never appeared on any of my other service receipts and I've been loyal to this dealership for 5 years plus. I'm a realist and I understand that mistakes are inevitable but my patience is nil when deception comes into play. I keep my maintenance up on my truck so that I remain independent because I'm a disabled woman. I made several attempts at trying to get a service advisor on the phone to discuss this matter and got nowhere until I filed a grievance with corporate. The service manager, Mr. Whitehead, upon greeting me opened the dialogue by asking me, "What happened to me, and what do they call it, Muscular Dystrophy?" He was referring to the way that I walk while using crutches, which honestly has no bearing whatsoever with the matter at hand. His question caught me off guard and I simply told him I'm grateful to be alive after being in a bad wreck years ago. He went on to let me know that the disclaimer printed on my service receipt, is also on all service write up receipts that they do, and that this wasn't an isolated case and concluded by telling me he had several other vehicles in his shop that now have a crack resulting in an oil leak as mine does. This type of thing happens all the time and Jeep won't fix it at no charge to me, and that this is a common issue that comes with older vehicles. The next day he called me with a quote of an amount in excess of $1600 and that was after he'd taken $200 off the original estimate. This is a stressful situation for me now and I still have an oil leak that must be resolved soon. But why would I entrust Calavan Jeep to do the repair, when they weren't honest with me prior and allowed me to leave after paying for an oil change, and my truck is leaking oil? All trust is lost.

My Jeep

DO NOT GO HERE FOR SERVICE! I took my 2021 (2.5yr old) Jeep Wrangler Sport into the service department because I had been experiencing the engine fan revving, which led to the overheating light coming on twice. They came back after a very short period of time and said I need to replace my entire engine and it would cost me $16,000. That's right sixteen thousand dollars. They said my radiator and condenser was clogged with mud which caused my engine long blocks to overheat and warp. They said because I had been Off-roading the warranty was voided and I would have to pay out of pocket. Mind you I hadn't touched an Offroad trail in over a year and this problem just started. On top of that I am super meticulous about keeping my baby clean. They didn't look at the thermostat or water pump. They didn't suggest replacing the radiator first. They went straight to engine replacement. I then asked for photos of the clog. They basically lifted the hood and snapped 2 pictures of my engine bay, which I will admit has dirty water residue from Off-roading on it. NOT thick mud. They never took off my grill to look at the radiator. They didn't take anything apart to look into the engine to see the long blocks. I pushed back and said I'm not replacing the engine and asked why we wouldn't just replace the radiator first. The tech said let me ask the mechanic and call you back. I NEVER HEARD FROM HIM AGAIN. Side note, I did notice before I took it in that the 2nd coolant reservoir was empty but I didn't touch it because I wasn't sure what to do with it. I didn't tell them that. When I picked up my Jeep later that day, I noticed they filled that reservoir. I haven't had an issue with the fan or overheating since and it's been 2 weeks. No one from the service dept was there to talk with me when I went to pick it up. These people tried to charge me $16k to fix a coolant issue. Luckily I was smarter than that. But I still had to pay $200 for the dam diagnostic which was a rip-off. They still have yet to contact me and ask about my experience or my vehicle. Tony Hooper at Calavan was cute but only helped to give unsatisfactory service and try and scam me. I will never go there again and will tell my 900+ Jeep Wrangler/Gladiator community to never go there as well. Moral of the story, do your research and don't trust the dealership.

Service Dept. lackluster,…read more Brought car in for recall service on a Friday. Fred advised vehicle would have to be driven to lessen fuel to complete repair (as opposed to siphoning existing fuel and replacing it). Then suggested he would have mechanics drive fuel down. As of following Wednesday, nothing had been done at all and they failed to even call. I had to call and then he insisted that I pick it up to drive down the fuel level before he could perform the recall that could repair fuel problem. Took the vehicle back on Monday. As of Thursday (today) still "haven't gotten to it." I sent an email previous Saturday asking for rental car and Fred admitted he received it and did not read it. I have been without my car for over a week collectively and the service is unacceptable. Fred is a salesman. He is great with pleasantries, smiles and suggestions for one to spend more money. Fred is not a serviceman. He does not follow through, act proactively, return calls as promised, under-promise, over-deliver, go the extra mile, exceed expectations, or show his true loyalty to the customer. What is paramount is not making the sale, no, the true top is customer retention. Nissan of Lithia Springs Service should focus on keeping the trust of customers for the life of their car and free water is not it. I would feel great if a dealership inspired by truth and safety would tell me "Sir, your car's in great shape" and call me with updates before I have to call them begging for an update.

I literally had to find my way to the service center because no one was there to direct me. I scheduled a 8:45a appointment but the advisor told me I'd likely be sitting for 2-2.5 hours. So what's the point of scheduling an appointment? You would think when you speak to a service advisor that he/she would go over price quotes regarding market and third party parts. WRONG! I came here to re-align my drivers side window as it had gone off track. I sat for 3 hours without an update or being updated about the status. After I could no longer sit I got a text saying my vehicle was ready along with a final price of $1613! I beg your pardon!? At this point, I'm fuming and looking for the advisor. He goes into this spill about how the price is right and how he just got the quote when I did. This is the most unprofessional and price gouging Nissan dealership I've ever visited. The guy was basically telling me changing the motor in door panel is a 4 hour job at a $225 labor rate! I've never reacted this way in an establishment but I could not resist expressing my frustration and disgust with how I was treated. The advisor didn't even offer any alternatives. It was either I pay or leave. I had to pay $250 just for them to diagnose my car. Also, get this, the job couldn't even be completed because the parts had to be ordered!!! Why wasn't I told this first before I sat down?! I feel like my time and my money has been wasted. I will NEVER use this location again. If you are a woman coming here for services, BEWARE.

Review for Calavan Kia - Safety Concern with Loaner Vehicle…read more On Sunday, April 20th around 12 PM, I had a frightening encounter with a reckless driver operating one of Calavan Kia's loaner vehicles--a white Kia 4-door sedan, license plate SCD3796 (tag exp. 2/26). The female driver aggressively tailgated my vehicle, dangerously switched lanes without signaling, and came extremely close to causing an accident involving me and my son. She later pulled into 2819 Church on Greenbrier Parkway SW. This kind of careless and dangerous driving in a vehicle connected to your dealership is completely unacceptable. It reflects poorly on your brand and raises serious concerns about who is being allowed to operate your loaner vehicles. I hope Calavan Kia takes steps to address this and ensure stricter accountability when it comes to loaner car use. --Felicia

What a great experience…read more As someone who previously worked at a car dealership, I always feel like the sales department can leave a bad taste in your mouth but the service department? The total opposite. Maybe because one side is locking you into a financial relationship you don't depart from easily and the other is a relationship built on trust, lol. I'm glad to say that this was the latter. Recently, my engine light began blinking while on the highway. No bueno, especially as a pregnant woman who is a late in life driver. Luckily I made it home safely and had time to think over what to do. I'm notoriously frugal when I can be, a little impatient and not a car person. I immediately reached out to a previous mechanic who worked on my car and when he flaked, I began considering other solutions. After getting diagnostics on my vehicle and learning that it was an engine issue, I was happy to learn that the possible issue was one that was covered by Kia. Phew! I purchased my car from a dealership (that left a bad taste in my mouth - see my 1st paragraph) and figured it was worth giving a call to the dealership closest to the place I had just had my diagnostics done at. Lucky me, when I called Calavan Kia, Ms. Brandee picked up the phone in service. What a gem. I explained the situation to her, the fact that Kia said it was covered by their warranty and that although I hadn't purchased my car from them, that I hoped to bring it to Calavan and that they'd take me in. She was incredibly patient and let me know that I could bring it in, but it could take 2-3 days for diagnostics and up to 14 days to fix - YIKES! I called around to local mechanics to see if I threw some money at it, if they'd be "quicker" but after speaking to a local shop owner and telling him the issue, he assured me that taking it to Kia may be my best bet. So I did just that. When I arrived, Ms. Brandee was easy to spot - we love seeing women in service!! Throughout our entire conversation, she was incredibly patient, kind and broke down the entire process and possibilities to me. She event brought over (who I assumed was) a member of the mechanics team to let me know what he believed it could possibly be, which I love to hear even if I don't truly understand lol. I don't like surprises! Being very obviously pregnant and tired, Ms. Brandee let me know that she couldn't promise, but would try to do all she can to have my car expedited so that I would have it if I were to go into labor - ubering to the hospital sounds like such a nightmare, lol. I was so tired by the end of process but that had nothing to do with her, she was the best part. I left with a rental and went about my weekend. On Monday, I called to extend my rental. It wasn't easy to get in touch with her directly because I couldn't remember where I put her card with her extension and per usual, the service dept was busy as I know they are. I left her a voicemail and she called me back within 30 minutes. Turns out I had opted out of their texts and she had tried to reach out to me - oops! Sounds about right, lol. But lucky me - my car was done!! Omg that 14 day window turned into the weekend + barely a full business day. I was so happy to return to pick up my car and even happier to learn that the problem wasn't as big as we expected and that the service team had fixed the issue at no cost to me. Ms. Brandee even tried to see if there would be a way to have part of my rental fees covered due to the warranty, it wasn't possible but I appreciate her for trying. I'm so thankful to her for her patience, amazing attitude and for taking such good care of me and my car during such a vulnerable time. I never aim for being at a service department besides routine maintenance but now that I know Brandee is at Calavan, I'll definitely be trusting her with my car going forward.

Waymon is the person I initially met and worked most closely with during the process of trying to purchase my vehicle. When it comes to him, 15/5!!**** As far as everything goes On the day that I picked up my vehicle, I CALLED AHEAD to let them know I was on the way. Once I arrived, I spent over an hour filling out the necessary paperwork, just to be given the keys to a DIRTY VEHICLE!! When I say "dirty" I mean literal DIRT and ick inside my newly purchased vehicle! It was as if they had the car had been dropped off from the previous owner the same fucking day, and hadn't been touched again until they were handing me the keys I couldn't even enjoy the moment of having a new car. When I brought this up to the employees that handed me the keys, they shrugged shoulders and informed me that the person in charge of cleaning/detailing the vehicle wasn't there, and that the lesser employee who half-ass "cleaned" my car wasn't already gone for the day. UNACCEPTABLE! All of this is happening around 5-5:30ish pm, dealership doesn't close until 8pm. Sooooo, after a certain point in the day are yall just giving people dirty cars???? That shit makes no sense. I visited multiple dealerships before finding my car at this one. Looking back I truly wish I would've been able to find my car at one of those other locations. Overall exhausted and thoroughly disappointed with my experience (didn't even including management trying agressively persuading financing through them, KNOWING I was already approved, the price being listed completely different online, etc). Unless you have found your must-have, everything-you-want car at Hoover, go somewhere else. If you have to come here, go in defense up, head on the swivel and please have your own loan pre-approval, cause they will try you like a baser ‍
