Just had our two bathrooms remodeled with the acrylic panels that go over existing tile. FInished product is beautiful. We had a problem with the acrylic bath tube shell, no fault of Cal Bath, so we ended up refinishing the bath tub instead and it turned out great plus it was a little less expensive. They were careful while doing to job and cleaned up the area when finished. Would definitely recommend them. read more

Brian and Luis came to Newton Apartments to restore shower walls and tub for one of my vacancies. They did a wonderful job. I have been restoring the showers for a few years now with Calbath. It makes such a big impact on the rentals. Our shower walls are originally pink tile! Painting them white makes the walls look updated and clean . Their customer service is great! Beware of this company's illegal business practices. If you're a senior, like me, and considering using them for a home improvement project, be prepared for some shady lies and fancy footwork around upfront fees. Steve Lass came to my house with material samples and gave me a very reasonable estimate. When I was ready to go ahead with the project, though, he insisted on a 30% down payment. When I reminded him that the State Licensing Bureau only allows a contractor to ask for, or accept, a 10% down payment he tried to weasel his way out of it saying it didn't apply to his company and they needed additional funds for materials and measuring (?). Did he think that because I am a senior woman that I wouldn't do my homework and could easily be taken advantage of? My counter offer of 10% down with 50% after the first day's work and the balance upon completion was rejected and I never heard from him again. He not only blew off my project, but lost a pending referral as well. Their money-gouging policy and refusal to adhere to the licensing laws makes me wonder about the solvency of this business, not to mention their integrity and ethics. read more

This is the only bathroom in a unit that had a malfunctioning shower mixing valve, so it was an urgent situation. CalBath was able to schedule and complete the renovation in less than two weeks. Their prices were very competitive, the workmanship and the final product were great, and the service was very professional. From estimate to completion, the process was smooth, low pressure, and with great communication throughout. WoW! These people are wonderful. Easy to work with and concerned that I was pleased with the result. They were called out to re-glaze 2 sinks. One of the sinks had "spider" cracks and could not be replaced with the same design. Since I have 2 matching sinks it was easier to re-glaze....and the results were pleasing. Calbath did an excellent job refinishing my bathtub. The workers were friendly and courteous. They even warned me about the fumes that could affect my asthma and suggested that my wife and I spend the rest of the day out of the house. JUST TERRIBLE. I wish I could give zero stars I called to get a quote on a bathroom remodel, and I made an appointment with Steve. My appointment was for a Monday at 8am. Now being a small business owner I had set a couple hours aside from work in order to let Steve into my home and tell him what I wanted etc. Come Monday 8am rolls by and no one shows up I give him a few minutes because of traffic or maybe he got lost, 8:30 comes around and still nothing, no phone call, nothing. I still give him the benefit of the doubt. At 9 am I call their office and everyone there is clueless to what's going on. I finally get a hold of Steve and he tells me that there was no appointment scheduled and that's why no one showed up. I found that weird since I made my initial appointment with him by phone. All he said was sorry. Keep in mind I have a small business and I can't take that much time off. I found this very unprofessional and I would never recommend this company to anyone. All I got was a simple "sorry". He could have told me he was coming later and sorry for the inconvenience. But no, now another company is getting my business. read more

OUTSTANDING!!! I recently purchased an old mobile home near the beach that needed A LOT OF WORK...EVERYWHERE! With a limited budget needing to be spread throughout the home, I had to search hard for cost-saving solutions that would make a difference. I heard about a kitchen and bath countertop and shower resin application that CalBath offered. This is a decorative treatment that is applied directly to existing countertops and showers, at a fraction of the cost of replacement, which completely transforms the look from broken down old to brand spanking new. Visited their booth at OC Fair months ago in Aug 2019, as we had just never gotten around to redoing our main bathroom in our 1959 house. Got friendly and patient inquiries from Laurie until we were ready to pull the trigger. Darrell came out I think the next day after 5 to our schedule. He explained everything and we inked the job. Still took a couple months to get the other work completed that we wanted done first. Laurie kept in contact with me still very patient. Finally in Feb 2020 we were ready to schedule all the work. Brian showed up as promised, he was professional, polite and even suggested a change in color as we had chosen porcelain white that was not the best choice to match the wainscoting and other work. Brian did a great job. The tub and tile look like new and the wife is thrilled with the new bathroom. The did a good job refinishing my bathtub but about a year later it started to crack. They sent someone out to tell me that because the floor is not flat, they cant cover the repair. Excellent service and outstanding work! I had my two bathroom stalls done seven years ago by Calbath and they gave me a seven year warranty. Just recently, seven year after, one of my stall had a few chips and I called them about refinishing the stall. They were quick to reply and they came by to refinish the stall. However, the color they sprayed on did not match and it was a little off. I called Calbath and sent pictures to show them the mismatched color. No questions asked, they sent a refinishing manager to come by and check. He immediately scheduled another touched up and the second time was perfect! I am very glad that I had chosen Calbath and I highly recommend them to anyone who need to refinish their bathroom tub or stall instead of replacing whole new ones. This is the first time I have used CALbath for a apartment bathtub refinishing and I'm so happy I did, my friend has been using them for years. CALbath did all the communications with the tenants and called the them to arranged a date to go check tub for my estimate . Their estimate was better then I expected as I had done some research online. CALbath called the tenants and arranged a date and what the tenants needed to do for preparation on the day they work on the tub. I met with Brian on the morning of refinishing, he was on time and very polite. He prepped the bathroom by using paper, tape and what ever else that was needed to protect bathroom. We could not be more pleased with the work done by Johnathan and Ivan from CalBath. We replaced our Carrera marble master bathroom tile (way too slippery!) with wood-look porcelain. The work was done by Jonathan and Ivan and included removal of the old tile, prepping the floor, cutting the tile, and determining the perfect pattern. Steve, who did the original quote, advised that we purchase the smaller planks, and Jonathan figured out how the tiles wold best mimic a wood pattern. Despite the challenges of our apartment building (sharing an elevator, tricky parking, and no disposal on site)) and the fact that we also wanted a new toilet and accessories, they finished on time, cleaned up perfectly, and were a pleasure to work with. We no longer worry about slipping in our bathroom and we appreciated the thoroughly professional work. These two guys are a terrific team, and CalBath is lucky to have them. (Another review here says that the follow up from the scheduling folks is not terrifiic. I agree. You will need to prompt the office people. Stay on it The quality of the actual work made my efforts worthwhile, but the scheduling should be much more prompt and efficient.) Cal Bath installed a full bath unit in our condo: tub & wall liner, as well as sliding glass door. It looked fabulous and substantially upgraded our outdated bathroom. Six years later, when we sold our unit, the buyers wanted to see evidence that the glass door was constructed of "safety glass." Cal Bath was wonderful about providing the document, which helped the sale of our property go through quickly. This is a good team! read more

If you're looking for a friendly sales person, this is the place. If you're looking for good customer service, you won't find it here. Once you sign on the dotted line, the sales person is out of it and the office takes over. That's where the problems start. We were told that the office would call us to set up an appointment. They didn't so we called the only contact we had - the sales person. 3 times we were told that they'd call and 3 times we had to call back saying they haven't called. Annoying! We finally get started. The 1st day went well. The workers were great. The next day, Juan was suppose to arrive between 8-9am. I called and was told he would be there between 9:30-10. My question was "why didn't anyone call me to tell me?" I waited until 10:15 and called again. I was then told that his truck broke down and they didn't know when he would arrive. Meanwhile, I had a 10am meeting to go to. I was furious and asked AGAIN "why hasn't anyone called to tell me??!!...why is communication so poor??" By this time, I had been waiting for over 2 hours!! I finally left to go to work only to have to rush back since he was finally on his way. Juan is the door installer and is very nice. My complaint is with the office staff. The 2nd go around, my appt was between 11-12pm. I called at noon and was told that my appt was for the following day. I was scheduled to work the following day so there was NO WAY I would've scheduled an appt that day! Again I was FURIOUS for my time being wasted! I was sick of being told they were sorry. In the end money was taken off of the bill for all the inconvenience. It sucks that you, as the customer, has to be the one to make all initiation of communication. read more

I contracted with CALbath to refinish a shower enclosure in a rental condo unit. This particular fiberglass enclosure had previously been refinished multiple times by a previous vendor. Each time, the finish wound up chipping and lifting up. The technician from CALbath had to work extra hard to remove all these old coatings, to ensure that the new coating would properly adhere. He spent way more time than they planned due to this, but dutifully kept at the job until it was done right. He had a great attitude on what was obviously a stressful job, and I appreciated his effort. I experienced professional interactions with all members of the CALbath staff during the estimating, scheduling and performance of the work.The only small drawback was a slight delay in getting the work scheduled, which I assume was due to a large backlog of work. I highly recommend CALbath for anyone considering this kind of project. read more
