My experience with Bay Stone Depot was extremely frustrating and disappointing. I purchased two stone slabs for my home, expecting premium quality and service given the price. Within weeks after installation, pit marks and dents began developing on the surface. Over the following months, additional defects continued to appear under normal use. When I reported the issue, Bay Stone initially acknowledged it as a quality concern but directed me to work directly with their supplier rather than handling it themselves. After months of follow-up, the supplier's representative inspected the slabs and offered replacement slabs. I then returned to Bay Stone to request some form of refund instead of replacement, since the cost of uninstalling and reinstalling the slabs makes the replacement offer impractical and financially unreasonable. Bay Stone indicated that a refund might be possible but claimed the supplier required the original slabs to be returned. That was not what I had been told. After I confirmed with the supplier that returning the originals was not required, Bay Stone changed its position. The manager, Kimberley, told me it was "not scientifically possible" for pit marks to develop after installation and suggested I should have identified the issue at delivery. I provided multiple dated photos showing the progression of the defects. After that, my messages went unanswered. What stood out most was the lack of ownership and empathy. Kimberley was not apologetic and did not appear interested in finding a practical resolution. Instead, responsibility was repeatedly shifted, and ultimately, the issue was attributed to me for not raising it at delivery, even though the slabs appeared fine at that time. It felt as though once payment was made, accountability ended. When customers pay premium prices, they expect both quality materials and meaningful support if something goes wrong. Stay as far away from Bay Stone Depot as you possibly can. This company delivered some of the worst service and workmanship I've ever experienced. The countertop they installed came with a completely botched outlet cut -- so small and crooked that the outlet literally cannot be installed. When I contacted them to fix their own mistake, they didn't apologize, didn't take responsibility, didn't even pretend to care. Instead, they had the nerve to tell me they would charge me extra to correct the problem they created. Their attitude toward customers is unbelievable -- dismissive, unprofessional, and focused only on squeezing more money out of you. The photo of their work says everything: the outlet can't even fit into the fabrication cut they made. And their "solution" was to demand more money. Bay Stone Depot is the definition of pay more, get worse. Save yourself the frustration, the headache, and the extra costs -- go anywhere else. read more

I wish I could give a 0 star for this store due to their dishonest and unprofessional service. I placed an order for bathroom tiles for our remodeling project for upcoming baby's bathroom. Because we have a hard deadline :) I double checked with the sales team and they confirmed the order should be ready for pickup in a week. After a week I had no follow up and decided to call the store. I called 5 times in a day and everyone on the phone said they are busy with other customers and will call me back, and they never did. I ended up driving to the store and found out they forgot to submit my order to the manufacturer... they promised me the order is submitted and should be shipped from LA tomorrow or the following Monday the latest and should be ready for pickup later in the week. The following week I didn't get any follow up (of course) so I called again on Thursday and they told me the truck is arriving today and the order should be ready for pickup next day. I called in again next day and the warehouse said the truck arrived at a different location yesterday and they are unloading today and the tiles should be ready for pickup romorrow. I sent my contractor over to pick up the following day. They told my contractor to the tiles are shipped from Texas and it'll take another week or two to arrive. I was super confused and frustrated with all of the conflicting info I've been told at this point, and the guy on the phone call simply said "I don't know what my coworkers told you" and was not willing to take responsibility on it. He simply put the phone aside and ignored me. If you are looking for a store that can give you reliable lead time and real reply, I'd suggest going to a different place. (Update) Due to their ignorance over the phone, my partner and I decided to change our plan and drive down to the store on Saturday. In the store they were not apologetic and the only thing I got was "because your sales person is not here today and the manufacturers are closed on weekend, I don't have a solution and you need to wait until Monday". After two wasted weeks of 10+ phone calls and two in-person visits, I don't have trust on their promises anymore and decided to cancel their order and went with another store. We bought all our tiles from this store. Thanks to Heidy! She is very nice, chill and easygoing! The perfect person you want to deal with during the stressful renovations! We liked the wall tiles in another store but couldn't find a matched floor tile! She managed to order the same wall tiles for us so we can find the floor match better. It was difficult to judge based on a small sample. So she ordered the large sample and we easily found the matched floor tile. We ended up ordering all the tiles there! Highly recommend her. Went in today (1/27/26) to pick new flooring for our mudroom and powder room and ran into Sally at the front desk. She immediately acknowledged me and got up to help. It was lunchtime, so I was honestly surprised. I was expecting to go it alone. She led me to the interesting mosaic tiles which I loved but wanted something a little more neutral so we took a look at the porcelains. Nice selection of tiles overall. She suggested a neutral porcelain and I loved it but they cannot guarantee the receive date since it comes from So Cal. So we went to look at the in stock porcelain and found one very similar to the first one she showed me. She confirmed they had enough in stock for me, she pulled together my order, I paid, and now my contractor can pick it up next week. It was so easy to talk to Sally, she has a great eye and it was so quick and efficient. She is very smiley and kind, that helps so much when renovating your home. I just put the sample tile of my purchase in the mudroom we currently have to see how it would look in the space and it is spot on. Sally picked the perfect one for me. Bay Stone showroom is right off of Brokaw Avenue in San Jose and located in very close proximity to a ton of tile and slab businesses. We had an appointment to meet our designer at this showroom. Fortunately we arrived early to peruse the store and view a lot of their offerings before meeting our designer. One could really spend a lot of time here so I recommend that you have plenty of time on hand to view everything they have. There are a few tables in the tile area for you to bring your samples together and view your collage of samples for your design. The lighting in their store is okay and may not necessarily match what you have in your home. So I would recommend taking home some samples to view with your specific lighting. I was not charged for the samples I wanted to see in my home. I believe they work on the honor system to bring back the samples you borrow. Since we were working with a designer, when it came down to the time to purchase our selection, we were given a 20% discount. This is a great deal because you get so much better pricing for what you're buying. I mean it's 20 %! If you end up shopping around at the other locations in the close vicinity you will find that they are about right on track with most of the other businesses. Yes, there are deals elsewhere. But for the employees, it's downright miserable borderline torture. They have a great selection of stone, tiles, and everything in between. YELP!!! Why did you pull this awesome review!?!? I'm reposting with long overdue pics!!! What's up Yelpers i'm finally renovating the Kitchen and both Bathrooms and I need countertops and tiles ASAP, these contractors work fast! Damn who would've thought that shopping for tile with your lady could be like a roller coaster of decisions and ideas. Anyhow, all these tile shops in the area off of E. Brokaw are practically alike. They all stock pretty much the same tiles, of course with some variations of different stock on hand and of course different price ranges and different service. I spent a few weekends now shopping for tiles and countertops. I've been trying to find this elusive Super White Quartzite! It looks like Carrara Marble but it's way more durable and stain proof. I did my research and I knew this was the material I had to have for my countertops...period. I checked out all the shops nearby like Bullnose, Tileshop, Bedrosians, Porcelanosa, Emser, Home Expo & Design, Terico, Apex, Uni & Tile & Marble and probably more. If I didn't visit them I either called or emailed inquiring about specific tiles and countertops I was looking for. Man I'm telling you I was on a mission! Practically every shop I went to is like a tile maze...tiles everywhere! Tiles for days! If the shop didn't have nice displays, the tiles were lined up almost like books on a shelf. A person can go bonkers looking at all these damn tiles trying to decide. First you think man I really like that colored glass mosaic, then next thing ya know you see this beautiful glossy white 1x4 herringbone and you're like ahhh that's the one. Decisions decisions! Do yourself a favor, know what look you're goin for whether it be modern, contemporary, gaudy, or cheap lol. Start with your wow tile, the one you gotta have, then work off of that. It makes it so much easier Hahahaa. Okay so now why the 5 Star review for Bay Stone??? Mr. Kenneth Eveland...that's why. Every shop I went to was just straight a waste of time with people who don't even want to help you. It's like why in the F(_)€|{ were you even hired!? Was it just to stand around, act like you don't want to help out customers and give back unenthusiastic, half assed uneducated answers!? Damn if only I could smack these people up side the head and say hey get with it. Well I guess I'll spend my thousands of dollars elsewhere. I feel bad for the store owners, all that potential business go bye bye. Only Bullnose, TileShop and Bedrosians were actually helpful...sorry though you just didn't have what I was looking for. But as for the rest...straight boo boo, garbage, don't even waste your time because time is money. Luckily for Bay StoMr. Kenneth Eveland is the only reason I went there. He was quick to respond to my email with pictures of the countertops I wanted. When I finally found the time to visit Bay Stone and personally see the quartzite slabs the service was on par. Surprisingly the first person who asked if I needed help happened to be Mr. Kenneth Eveland who was quick and enthusiastic to help me. We knew who each other was once I mentioned Super White Quartzite haha. He showed us to the area where the slabs are stored and even offered to get the overhead crane to move slabs so I could see all of them and make my picks. He even measured the slabs to make sure that we would have enough material. Now that's service! Turns out we have enough for the bathroom vanities too! I made my picks and $OLD bought 2 slabs. Easy as 1-2-3. After that Mr. Kenneth Eveland asked if we needed help with anything else...the lady and I looked at each other because at this point we were about to choke each other from the tile decisions. Thank goodness we both agreed on the countertops. Anyhow, he helped us out asked what look we're goin for and made solid suggestions. The guy knows the shop better than us so he was pulling out tiles that we didn't even notice or see when we were walking around the store. He made solid suggestions that matched the look we were looking for and we were able to settle on the tiles we needed for our project. The prices were comparable but you can't buy service like this. Boom! another purchase! Thank You sooo much Mr. Kenneth Eveland for simplifying everything, being patient, being knowledgeable, for making this overall experience easy breezy and sooo much less stressful than it should ever have to be. You rock and gave solid service which is one of the main reasons I went with Bay Stone and will definitely come back for future projects. I bought 20 pieces of Mosaic, none of them are in good quality. Some gaps between she small squares are bigger,and some are very small, the lines between the small tiles are not straight. When I requested to return these poor quality products, there's a sales rep misleading me that this is the mosaics' style! Wow, it's a common sense that the tiles line should be straight, the bay stone sales says it's the style! I argued with them for a while, they agreed to give me full refund, but they said they need time to process the refund. I have been waiting for several days, not a penny from them. I called the account, no one answered the phone. I highly suggest not to buy their tiles, poor quality, bad service, not honest to customers, so mean. Please compare the red circle and green circle in attached the pictures, and imagine how ugly if the mosaics in the shower room. Every one cannot take a happy baths looking at these mosaics. read more

I am not sure if they assist selecting stone as my designer from construction company was taking care of sales part as well. I am not sure if prices are high or low. But certainly they have good variety . Having said that, they were out of stock of the tile which we liked most. So because of the availability, we had to change whole design. Overall liked the store as they have variety of tiles, stones to select from. Had to come back to Bay Stone Depot today for some follow up stuff related to our home remodel. (What a journey!) We are about a year into the process and things are going well. It's unfathomable the details and decisions that are required. It's insane what it costs. It's agonizingly slow and city planners seem to delight gleefully in absolutely crapping in your cereal. BUT!! There's a ray of sunshine in this process and they're the people of Bay Stone Depot. We'd been referred previously by our amazing contractor. (If Bay Stone Depot staff are the rays of sunshine. Our contractor Om's Remodeling and our main dude Yuval "Yuvi " are literally the sun that our home is revolving around. ). Anyways. My point is. Home remodeling is equal parts suck. Pay. Ponder. Dream. Compromise and Pray with a splash of financial anxiety just to keep you up late at night. Bay Stone Depot is a sanctuary of nice people and stress free browsing. They're quick to accommodate reasonable requests and the service from Heidi and Kimberly was exactly how we remembered. We left Bay Stone Depot today with the same feeling we did last time. That we were valued and respected as customers even if we didn't drop big money or buy epic huge Louis Vuitton tiles. These folks seem to "get it " and they're classy style of service takes away some of the crappier parts of a home remodel. Still our absolute favorite vendor in this experience so far. We have used them twice now over the past 3 years. The first for our kitchen - quartz and tile floor and recently for remodeling our three bathrooms with floor and wall tiles. They have a fantastic selection covering all prices and options. Jeff the Bay Stone sales/designer representative was very friendly, helpful in guiding our tile selections. Not pushing, but honest in our direction. He was also very helpful in recommending contractors for counter and glass fabrication. We had left over quartz from the previous kitchen remodel we wanted to reuse for the bathrooms. Jeff recommended Francisco Morales (408-591-7087) for templating and fabrication of our three vanity counters. Francisco and his team were absolutely fantastic, high quality, responsive, efficient. They picked up the left over quartz (Cambria Summerhill), templated, fabricated, built a custom plywood base for the undercounter sinks, installed, caulked - all within 48 hours. We have under gone 3 bathroom renovations and a fireplace renovation in the past 5 years and I can tell every time we did we got our tiles etc from bay stone. Fantastic prices and great selection. We are now under going a kitchen renovation and got the counter top slab and tiles from bay stone. We have always worked with Angel and I highly recommend working with him if you can. He went out of his way to find the tile I was looking for which was a grey frosted glass tile for the backsplash. He makes his customers feel like they are important and gives us excellent attention. Lots of options but way overpriced. The customer service is awful as well. Do not get tile here if you have a tight timeline. After coming in to order tile that I was told was in stock, I learned it had to be special ordered. I rescheduled my tile people after the salesperson verbally guaranteed that the tile would arrive in 3 days. It did not. Shipping delays happen, but the business shouldn't provide a quote that can't be followed through upon as she knew that if it there was any possibility of delays, I would need to find other options elsewhere. No one picks up the phone in the warehouse and the salespeople are less than helpful. After arguing with my salesperson and asking her to check the warehouse for me, she told me to just request a refund and then hung up because it was closing time. I spent a Friday night running around to big box tile stores because I needed tile for Saturday only to learn when I called back to doublecheck on Saturday morning that the tile was indeed sitting in the warehouse. read more

I am writing an update after my recent wonderful review. It's to WARN everyone not to get Dekton. My countertop got chipped within 3 months. And there is nothing I can do. The quality of the product is extremely BAD. I wish the salesperson had advised me of the brittleness of the product. Remember - do not buy Dekton. UPDATE - Ken at Baystone helped get the installer to fill the area that had chipped. Thanks to the Baystone team with that. I am updating the review stars to reflect the help with fixing the chipped area. However, I will stay away from Dekton or other Cosentino products in the future. read more
