I had to park in the garage even though I was told that I would be provided a parking permit, and I thought everything would be good considering that the options for overnight parking in the area are limited, but ultimately that wasn't the case. I told the front desk about it and while they were sympathetic, nothing was done to rectify the situation. I simply moved the trash lid and fence on my own and carried on with a scratched car. Otherwise, the stay was pleasant enough. The rooftop closes at 10pm. Our room didn't have a window but there was a kitchenette sink and mini fridge available. Basic toiletries were provided including toothbrushes and toothpaste. There is free wifi and there are bikes you can rent. You don't get a key card but rather you are given a code for the room lock.

Although the front desk staff often made me feel more tolerated than celebrated, the stunning views kept me coming back and with no room service available, my interactions with the staff were limited to check-in and check-out, allowing me to enjoy my visits in peace. After my mother passed away in July 2025, I chose this hotel to help me cope during my first birthday, Thanksgiving, and Christmas without her. The beach has always served as my sanctuary. However, during my last stay in December 2025, I unknowingly left with an unwanted holiday gift: BED BUGS. That's right BED BUGS AT THE BEACH HOUSE, HERMOSA BEACH, CALIFORNIA! Throughout 2025, The Beach House was my only travel destination. In January 2026, I began to notice itching, and by February, I was experiencing severe reactions without understanding the cause. One night around 3 a.m., I spotted a bug crawling on my pillow. After killing it, taking a pic and asking Google to identify, I discovered it was a bed bug. Having lived in my home for over 50 years without any bed bug issues, I was shocked. I immediately contacted an exterminator, who confirmed the presence of bed bugs, likely brought in during my December visit. Given that my only travel in the past year was to The Beach House, I knew where they originated. Fortunately, I caught the problem early, but it still cost me $2,000 to eradicate them before they became an infestation. I stayed on the 3rd Floor in an Ocean Front Suite I guess you can say I got more than I bargained for. We never needed our car. We parked in the motel lot and stayed for 5 days. We walked everywhere in Manhattan Beach. Motel provided beach chairs, beach towels and even an adorable tote bag. Thats Ivana. You truly are just a bit up the hill from the ocean. It's as close as you'll get for the cost. The rooms are fine. Linens, towels fine. Kitchenette. Bathroom. Water pressure great. Just know that Highland is a very busy traveled street. Could it be spruced up? Sure. But think of it as the charm of being at the beach and the actual salt air. My family and I have now…read morevacationed in the Upper and Lower units on two different occasions- once during Thanksgiving and once for two weeks during the summer. Each experience was unique and provided a ton of family memories. This rental property provides a first-class view of the ocean and is two steps from the boardwalk and beach. Our family and friends have never experienced a more convenient location- in terms of closeness to the beach and within a short walk to the grocery store, bar and grills, local shopping and surf school. We will probably vacation here forever because of the prime location and the owner and her assistant. They are always pleasant and willing to go the extra mile to assure the comfort of our family. Recently, each unit was updated with fresh paint, new tile, and new furniture. There is also a grill provided for summer family BBQs. They also have a outdoor patio with fireplace and a grill for use as well! As far as parking. They have plenty of street and spaces for renters as well! So did not have to worry about that with all our guest. Hidden perks they had was that they have a few amenities! They have a few bikes for strolls on the beach and surf boards!
