The tile in one bathroom was discolored, and he said it could be cleaned and sealed, and we needed tile flooring in our other bathroom replaced. Randy was friendly and approachable, and I planned to see how the smaller project went before hiring him for the larger project we needed tackled. Unfortunately, the experience was awful. A subcontractor/employee showed up on the agreed date to clean and seal the tile, and spent a couple of hours what sounded like physically scraping the tile - not what I expected. His coworker showed up a couple hours later, and told me that this plan was not going to work - that even if they could get the tile clean and seal it, the staining would come right back. He told me to have them leave, because Randy would still charge me for them being there. I went in the bathroom after they left, and it literally looked no different except there was dust everywhere - they did not clean up. I waited for a follow-up call or email from Randy - nothing. I was mad, but decided to put it behind me. A week later, I received a bill. I wrote a very frank email to Randy explaining my disappointment with the workers sent, the fact that no work was even done, and my confusion that he didn't even bother contacting me afterward. He apologized profusely and said he would follow up with me the next day. He did not follow up with me about the work, ever. But I have still been getting bills from this company!! I have emailed him multiple times, and he's told me to ignore them, but that is not an acceptable response - every time I see one of these emails, I am newly angry about the time I wasted on this endeavor. I gave him plenty of time and opportunity to make this right, and he did not even bother to try. I am writing this review because once again, I have gotten an invoice for this "work". They had to redo them TWICE, I had to involve an attorney, and I got a refund. What I didn't get was a proper floor refinishing. However, after all of that, I just had to let it go because I couldn't spend anymore time, energy or money on the problem. I was left with peeling clear coat, can marks from the staining containers, uneven stain distribution and more. Finally in December 2019 I decided to try again before the wood ruined due to no clear coat. I did lots of research and found Marcos and CMC Hardwood Flooring. I waited all of this time to do a review because I wanted to make sure the floors held up and they have! The excellent service starts with a transparent policy with regard to pricing. You get a detailed quote from his website where you can put in different choices and you will know upfront how much it will cost. Marcos himself comes to meet with you. Everything was in writing. These are all details I appreciated. He even told me he didn't think I needed the more expensive final finish but after all I have been through, I wanted it anyway. I paid extra for the highest level final coat to offer maximum protection from my dogs, teenagers, and all of the activities that happen on a daily basis. I am happy to say that the floors have really stood the test of time! Additionally, Marcos and his team were working with me at the height of the pandemic. He was flexible, helpful, and followed all of the health protocols. I had some other tradesmen working who were supposed to finish on a certain date but they ran 3 weeks late. Marcos worked with me to find a solution so I wouldn't lose my spot in his busy schedule. In early January 2020 my floors were completed as promised. Although I found less expensive flooring companies, I chose CMC Hardwood Floors because of their outstanding reviews and because Marcos is an owner/operator. I do not regret my decision. My floors have held up beautifully and Marcos made the entire experience seamless. I waited 3 years to post my review to make sure I got what I paid for and I did!
