I paid for a gel pedicure, and every single toenail lifted within two hours of leaving the salon. That is completely unacceptable for a professional service. I've had gel pedicures for years and have never experienced anything like this. My nails were also cut far shorter than I wanted, and I was never asked about my preferred length or shape before they started cutting. The service itself felt rushed. One of the best parts of a pedicure is the massage, but mine lasted only a couple of minutes before it was over. Meanwhile, I ended up waiting 30 minutes for my friend, who received the full pedicure experience that we both paid for. It was obvious our services were not performed with the same level of care. What made this even more frustrating is that this wasn't the first time my family experienced this issue. The last time my mom and I got pedicures here, her gel polish also lifted shortly after her appointment. Because of that previous experience, I had no confidence in returning for another repair. I contacted the salon immediately and requested a refund because the service had clearly failed. Instead of taking responsibility, I was offered discounts, vouchers, and another appointment but not a refund. During a phone call, the owner even told me I was "ruining her day off," despite the fact that I had spent my own day off paying for a pedicure that hardly even lasted the drive home. The owner also told me she had "never heard of this happening before," but after my experience I found other customer reviews describing similar lifting issues. A business's true character is shown by how it handles mistakes. Rather than standing behind their work, they refused to refund a defective service and expected me to come back and spend more time there. I ultimately disputed the charge with my bank. I cannot recommend a business that delivers poor-quality work and refuses to take accountability when that work fails almost immediately.
