Super wide open store and beautiful interior. Excellent service! Super generous and understanding about what you'd like done! My favorite thing I noticed was that if you request a certain design that one nail tech may not be able to execute they will switch spots and perform beautifully! I wanted a red/purple ombré set of dip nails and they did an astounding job! Red is for Valentine's Day and purple is for my father who passed in December. They did an amazing job. I am so sad. I thought I was being good by not picking at my old gel polish and going into a salon to get it removed, but I was mistaken. I have really strong nails, but my nail tech was a little overzealous with the grinder when removing my gel polish that now some of my nails are so soft. They do not use acetone and tinfoil to soften the gel, they just grind it all away. I had to keep myself from wincing since I could feel my nail becoming more sensitive. I asked for a short oval shape, but now my nails don't match, the surface is so rough, and the edges are not clean. I wanted to get out of the chair so quickly that I changed my mind on getting any color and just asked for a buff. I've had okay experiences here in the past but I won't be risky the health of my nails here anymore read more

I've been regular customer for about a year now and every time I come here I feel uneasy like they hate to see me coming through that door because I always request basic nail art. There are a few that won't mind like Tammy and the gentleman in his late 30s with glasses those are my favorite people and their work is phenomenon but majority of them will sigh or kinda give me attitude. Especially the young boy with glasses. His personality was crappy. Tired of feeling this way. We all should feel welcome. I've always had good luck here up until recently. Had my nails done today and they look like trash. I don't even know where to start. So I'll just number them. I got dip. 1. the tech put tips on my already long enough nails. what ever. but when she filed them, they are so much longer than my other nails. 2. The filing job is atrocious. so bumpy. 3. She left SO much residue on my nails and my SKIN. 4. The dip is all over my cuticle. like she didn't even TRY to clean it up. 5. This was probably the most mid experience I have had at a nail salon. The salon itself it really pretty, and I was happy to get an appt at short notice but that was kind of it. Overall disappointed. I feel like my pedicure was rushed, instead of soaking my gel in acetone to remove it she tried to peel it off forcefully which is the worst for your nail health. I don't even remember actually getting a massage either it was like 10 seconds. My acrylics are are whole other story, the tops of them are flat and thin, the gel is already peeling off and I just got them done today. It feels sloppy. Update: it's been a few days and more of my gel has peeled off. I'm high key annoyed I payed so much for this service. read more

There is a nail tech who is very rough. Even after I showed her why my ankle doesn't bend, she still grabbed my big toe and wrenched it. I've asked her to be gentle. No such thing. While she was taking off the old acrylic nails, she cut the quick on my little finger and made it bleed. I don't know her name. I've request a different tech. **As a follow up, Anthony did my nails and was very gentle, after the other tech ripped the quick and made it bleed. Went in for a pedicure and manicure. Pedicure lasted maybe 10 minutes, it was so fast, girl used the drill, didn't file the nails or shape them at all. Then when having the manicure used the drill I said it was really hot and pulled away and saw a burn spot on my nail, this happened two more times. She said oh thats not too bad. I told her its not great I have a burn mark. She said it was faster to get the cuticles. Real sloppy job, been going here on an off for over 4 years and have alway been happy don't think I will be back. This person seemed new and theres already bubbles on my nails, not sure how long these will last. I have been having my nails done for years at various different salons and this was by far the worst salon experience ever. The nail tech was extremely rough (similar to other reviews, I left with multiple cuticles bleeding despite asking her to be more gentle. Should not have had to say anything, my bloody fingers should have been enough). She also didn't dip each of my nails the same number of times which resulted with in a noticeable color difference on each hand. At the end of the process the surface is of my nails was rough and bubbly. When I complained, she begrudgingly put gel coat on top which proceeded to peel within a week. There was considerable chatter between the nail techs when I asked her to fix her work - felt a little like Elaine from Seinfeld. Really disappointing and quite frankly rude. I asked nicely to have her fix her work and really did not appreciate the attitude. I was driving some distance to come to this salon but will take my business elsewhere. Beware! read more

Made an appointment for my daughter and two of her friends for her birthday. Waited an HOUR in the pedicure chairs before anyone came over to us. Then, the technicians were really rude to the kids (clearly were not interested in doing kids' services) and refused to do designs on the girls' nails because they didn't have time. The manager addressed it and was apologetic, but one of the technicians then got up, left and never came back. My daughter then sat there for another 25 minutes while we waited for her pedicure to start. If it wasn't for one really hardworking and kind technician (I think her name was Windy), we would have never gotten out of there. We sat there for two hours for rushed services and received a $17 discount on a $150 bill for the trouble. It was legit the worst pedicure experience I've ever had, which is sad because the shop was clean and welcoming. I understand that businesses are short staffed, but if you can't - or don't want to - accommodate the people who come through the door, don't take their business (and their money). I've come to this place about 3 other times for pedicures and was happy. Decided to get a full set of dip. I have had them before and know exactly what I want. I brought a picture and everything. It took way longer than it should have and they couldn't get the shape right. I tried to show my nail Tech and another nail Tech for about an hour what I wanted. Clearly the index finger is way longer than the rest of the fingers, but they tried to tell me it was even, and wouldn't fix it. So this used to be the nail salon I went to regularly. I haven't gotten my nails done in a few years and am attending my brothers wedding next weekend and I asked for a simple design and was told it was to complicated for him to do. So I settled on French tips and just kept getting disappointed and anxious from there. He then started to paint them and I am a banker so I use my hands a lot and would like gel more than anything so it stays longer he proceeded to tell me no he was doing airbrush and it will look so much better and last so much longer and I repeated myself and asked for gel and was still told no. So he proceeded to do the airbrush & when he asked if it was alright I asked for a second coat of polish because it was too light and I didn't want it to wash out my skin tone since I am very pale. He then proceeded to take all of the French tips off with acetone and redid them by hand painting on the French tips with the gel polish & did not speak to me the rest of the interaction. I also did not get cuticle oil or any lotion to help with anything. I added pictures as well. I am happy with the nails but I am disappointed that I did not receive what I had asked for. read more

The atmosphere is nice- nail techs are rude. I have tried the place twice, thinking the first experience may have been a fluke. They intentionally resist requests for OPI polish- even thought that is what the promote. They try to talk you into the cheaper polish. Last time I specifically requested a shade of OPI, they applied cheaper brand, and the color was not even close. I will not return. read more

I booked online for a regular pedicure and a gel manicure. First time there. It's a very nice place. Spacious and new. Unfortunately there was a mistake and I ended up with a gel pedicure for 15$ more than the regular pedicure. It was odd to me that I had a 2 minute soak in just water. Not soap or anything. Didn't touch my callouses but for 2 seconds with the green scrubby thing. No real massage. My polish does look nice but I was definitely hoping for relaxation and attention to detail. She didn't really take time to shape the nail or smooth out my skin what so ever. (Like little callousy area near toenails). I dunno. My feet weren't in bad shape to start with so I really wanted them soft and smooth. Not sure I will be back. So far the gel manicure looks nice. read more

I went in asking for my nails to look like the picture that looks like a nice set of nails paid a lot of money complained to my tech more then once, paid extra for chrome, tips and special shape to be rushed after I had made an appointment. Reached out to try to get it fixed own said to email I email to no avail. When I disputed with my credit card company they said I was satisfied even though I had all the evidence saying I wasn't but because they don't give itemized receipts I was not given a refund. So FYI with the company get an item we receipt when they do an awful good on your nails and they say they will fix it because they won't. Do not recommend would give ZERO STARS if possible. I don't seem to be the only person that they do an awful job on the nails and say people are satisfied. Decided to try a place closer to home for my bi-weekly self care day. I called​ahead and was told to just walk in. At first glance this place is great, it's decorated nicely, appears clean, smells good. I was hardly greeted, but I looked past that as well. I sat down where I was asked to sit, the woman started my fill. I hadn't even had time to look at the colors she was asking me what color I wanted. I keep my nails black, with 2 on each hand whatever color theme the upcoming/current holiday is. My clients love it, so I keep the trend going. I'm bougie, I know, judge me later... She was rough with my hands, bending my fingers and wrists in directions they just aren't meant to go in. The drill was turned up so high it was hot and burning my fingers, so was the small heater she turned on to dry the acrylic faster. With the amount of excessive filing she was doing I thought "my nails are going to be damn near perfect if she's being that thorough!". WRONG. Not one nail is the same shape as another, she did not cut them down as asked. Mind you my nails were already done, and I never get them thick or wide. She finished filing and my nails are super thick, and wide isn't the word for them. She painted the wrong nails the wrong color more than once and almost seemed annoyed that she had to wipe it off. I decided I could deal with them for 2 weeks while I wait for them to grow and I'll go back to driving the extra distance to my normal salon which believe it or not is located in a WALMART. Again, judge me later. The do a wonderful job on my nails I have no complaints. I was finished and I got up and paid with my card, and the woman was practically leaning her head against mine trying to see the screen to see what I was giving her for a tip. I of course tipped her, though I didn't want to after that, I felt it was only right to leave one anyway. Through my entire experience there her and the other two nail techs were having a very loud conversation amongst themselves, never once spoke to their customers. Super dirty salon with poor service. My nail technician was cleaning his own nails with the tool he then used on me. No lotion or hand massage for a gel manicure, not even warm soapy water to soak my nails in. We made appointments but still had to wait, and the lady who checked us in was quite cold. So she makes the phone calls speaking in another language so has no idea what she said and then he'll dad and his mom know you come back tomorrow and I said I had a 6 o'clock appointment it's not my fault you guys close at six I asked for a 530 appointment because I knew you close at six and he told me know if you come at 6 o'clock and now you're turning me down telling me I have to come back on Monday! Tried place out 1x. OK polish job on dip, but sat in bowl of remover long time. Finally rubbed all off myself. My skin is dry and unhealthy to soak in chemicals anyway. Fumes strong w/hot water bowl. No cuticle work except for drummel tool. Unexpectedly auto charged 20% tip + some $3 fee.$50 total. Kind of shady move. I leave generous tips, but don't like to be demanded to do so. I don't get tips at my low-level office job. Should have signage s/where about this. I had also left an additional cash tip not knowing I would be charged. My fault I didn't ck website for dip cost. My 5 star review is based on what you're getting for the price, not compared to a spa or anything. However I have to start by saying: The Somersworth location is 5000x better than the Portsmouth spot! I have left a very negative review on the Portsmouth location with photos of how they absolutely trashed my nails. But Somersworth is AMAZING compared to them. I love the online booking tool, and their receptionist is super friendly if you ever need to call. I always get the deluxe pedicure, and they really spend the time to make it a nice experience. The hot towels, stones, and massage are all very relaxing and their environment is always clean. They're friendly and professional and I also love how organized their polish colors are! They do a great job on the pedicure itself and while I haven't tried a manicure yet, I will continue to go back to this spot for my summer pedicures. read more

I have gotten 3 pedicures at The New Place Nails and have enjoyed all 3 immensely. For the most recent one I had Amy, who was very professional and did a fabulous job on my feet. Anyone who does a lot of walking (as I do) will be extremely satisfied with their results. I have a 45 minute drive to get there but it is well worth it. On Sunday morning i went in for a gel manicure. Pretty standard, right? By sunday night I was sitting on the couch noticing that my ring finger, pointer finger and pinky finger were all peeling. I hadn't done much that day with my hands and when i did do dishes i wore gloves. That aside, I have never had a gel manicure peel on day one. It looked the way they usually look on day 8. I went back in Monday morning first thing and the woman was who originally did my manicure fixed it free of charge. Okay cool. Tuesday morning I'm sitting at my desk at work and notice the ring finger polish is lifting again as is my middle finger. After work I went back into the shop. Mind you this polish is only lifting on my left hand my right hand looks great. The first thing they ask me when i walk in is if i picked at it again. . No i replied and I don't understand why this is happening. The woman had initially explained it is because of my nails but that's an odd explanation to me because this has never happened to me to this extent so soon after receiving a gel manicure. it's now wednesday. I had it corrected monday and tuesday. im only posting this to warn other gel manicure customers, do not waste your time there. they're nice and they do an okay job but it's not worth the hassle. read more
