I called them to see how much it would be to redo my back window, it's a lifetime warranty and since I happened to have my receipt they re-did it absolutely free! Now I know what you're thinking, they had to redo your tint, it must not be good... but actually it's the farthest thing from the truth! They do an amazing job! They use quality product, do a wonderful job and cost less than competitors!! My car is over 7 years old (as was my tint) and do to my job I haven't been able to take care of my car like like I typically would... it was sitting in a parking lot in direct sun for almost 5 years. I waited over a year before writing my review, as I wanted to see how the tint job held up over a brutal Temecula summer; and this past wet winter added to the review. The tint job I received was EXCELLENT! Not one single bubble, or blemish! The car I had done last year had to have the old tint removed, that was placed there by the original owner. It was limo tint (how the hell can people drive safely with that crap?) and I could not see well out of it especially at night. They removed the old tint and replaced it with the level I requested; and they accomplished their goal in the time frame they provided me. If you don't want to fuck up your new tint job - follow the INSTRUCTIONS they provide you. I did, to a tee! I think some people don't and they screw up their own tint. Then they want the business to fix it, on the business' dime. Not good, folks, not good... We came to Cali Tintz, because we had our Hyundai tinted by the "same" company (they were bought out and changed their name) back in 2007. We still have that vehicle, which the wife has kept in pristine condition, ever since. And the tint has held up after ALL THESE YEARS, without a single blemish! I arrived at 9:00 AM when the place opens. The owner/manager arrived at approximately 9:10 and immediately began working with me to select my tint. After I selected the shades I wanted. He started on my vehicle. It took 90 minutes to complete. He did an outstanding job on my 2012 Honda Civic...very professionally done. My vehicle was a little more difficult because of the additional (4) small stationary windows (front and back). I did see a couple of small bubbles, but he explained to me that slight bubbling is normal for the first 30 days and it would evaporate (the bubbles are shrinking!). There is one thing I forgot to mention...I went to several places before selecting DARKSYDE. What made me go with this place was the professional attitude of the owner/manager (sorry, I didn't get his name), plus he gave me a an honest quote. His price was not the lowest, but it was competitive, and he was very straight forward and honest. He also seemed to know a lot window tinting (compared the the other people I spoke with). I immediately trusted him. This review is ONLY for the Temecula location, not Murrieta. I took my car into the Murrieta location earlier this week and had a great experience. I took another car to the Temecula Location and was told it would be ready in 45 minutes. I had my wife and kids with me so we left and walked over to the local dealerships looking at cars etc to kill time. I came back in just under an hour. Imagine my surprise when my car was in the same parking spot out front and they hadn't even started working on the tint. I walked in the back and asked what was going on. I was met with an extremely rude and hostile employee. (I imagine this individual was either the owner or at least a manager). I asked for my keys and paperwork back. The demeanor of the individual was threatening. I have never experienced behavior like this from any company in any industry. I will never take my vehicle to this location again and I would encourage anyone looking for service to go elsewhere. They are rude, threatening and do not honor your time. After reading the reply from this business they are over the top. Complete lies. I can not encourage potential customers enough to find another business to use besides this one. read more

I waited for the store to open at 9 in which the owner didn't come in until 9:10am. No worries as I know he has been busy and a 10 minute wait is not a big deal. He immediately attended to me started on my mustang. He really does a quick job even though he constantly gets interrupted with other customers since he was alone that day. A few days later I took the car back in because it had some markings, He wiped it off and I felt like a dumbass but he even said, it is still safer to do so as I know the warranty is still covered. I definitely plan on coming back for my other vehicle and trying out his paintless dent removal. ***NOTE*** It is now August 30th 2014 and both my cars' tint are from Darksyde. Took my SUV here recently to get some tint on the front 2 windows and darker tint on the back windows. I wanted the back dark but the front not too dark so that it wouldn't interfere with vision at night. I was worried it was going to look strange so I asked them what percentages tint they would do. They were so patient, nice and didn't pressure me at all. The guy behind the counter even threw in last months sale because he believed it had been extended. Nice! Came back awhile later (good location, was a short walk to the promenade) and car looked so much better. Then I was told about the lifetime warranty on the tint! Sweet! Would definitely go back. Came here to get paint protection film put on my new 2018 VW GTI. They quoted me the cheapest out of any of the other shops around the area. Customer service was ok, and time it took to get the wrap for my car and get it done was ok too. Only issue i had with the job done was on the driver side not all the hood is covered, it looks like the wrap ends about .5-1inch from the edge of the hood, and only on the driver side. Also while really hard to notice, you can see some bunch up of the wrap, again on the driver side only. While im happy with the job done (and price i paid) i feel like the wrap should cover the entire hood. I'll eventually come back here for the bumper to be done to. Thanks guys. read more

DO NOT GO TO CALI TINTZ!!! Terrible tint work. They do not guarantee their work. Horrible customer service. I took my new truck there today. The tint had dust bubbles EVERYWHERE. Not 1 or 2 bubbles. About 50. These bubbles never go away. When I asked them to redo my back window, they said "No, we will not redo any window now or in the future" I asked to speak with the owner. He said "the owner is out back and will not redo the work and he will not speak with you" Seriously? He then said "We can strip your tint off if you're not happy." I said, strip it off, I won't do business with someone who won't even speak with me. Surprisingly, the owner Dre came out while they were striping the tint off and said "there must have been a miscommunication" I said, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, go ahead and redo the tint. After all that, he told me that he did not have the time to redo the job that afternoon. Really? He said that "since I already had a bad experience and would probably give him a negative Yelp review anyway it would be better for me to go somewhere else." WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!! DO NOT GO TO CALI TINTZ OR DO BUSINESS WITH THE OWNER, DRE!!! P.S. Dre, If you would have apologized and offered to redo my tint in the future, I would have given you a 5 star review on Yelp for great customer service. read more

I got my HID lights done about a year and a half ago. A week into having them, one goes out. I took it back to them and told me they had to order a new ballast and I would have to come back the following week to have it replaced. After they "fixed" it, a few months later I had the same problem. I called them today (their website makes it look like everything is lifetime warranty) and they told me I would have to buy a whole new set to replace them! Why the heck would I buy a new set, when the first ones never worked properly. They may be good for tinting(I wouldn't know, I go to Mr. Tint in Temecula) but DO NOT GET YOUR HID LIGHTS FROM THEM!! read more

I'm updating my review from 30 July 2017. After speaking with the owner (Dre) directly, he 1. apologized profusely for the poor service, 2. agreed to redo both windows at my convenience, 3. called me 5 days later to follow up to ensure everything was good with the windows. There is lots more to the story but in a snapshot, he made it right. He also mentioned that he has since retrained his employees and redone some procedures to prevent this from happening in the future to any other customers. My new tint job looks just as good as before, (and he even used top grade tint which is better than what I had previously). I'm thoroughly impressed with his humility and his desire to make this right, hence the new 5 star rating! Way to go Cali Tintz!! read more

in 2007 I took my mazda protege 5 here. Since my car is a hatchback, my quote was $165. It's usually $99 for a regular 4 door car if you have a flyer from them. $165 for my hatch was for the 'extra door' even tho it was really my trunk. the price raises for bigger vehicles and also varies from customer to customer. you get the idea. I arrived at 8:50am, just in time when the owner that drives a fixed up SUV had arrive on opening time, 9am. He worked with me right away to select my tint. I chose limo tint in the back and 5% for the passenger and drivers window regardless of it being illegal in California. I forgot the other guy's name that is always there, he usually arrives in a motorcycle, he did my tint within an hour and a half. It was a spectacular job! The air bubbles only lasted for a couple days and I was able to roll down my windows after exactly 7 days. This is my first impression so I've always thought about returning. In 2009, I bought a Toyota Corolla S and Toyota Matrix S. My intention was to get the same exact tint job from Darksyde. I took my Matrix in and was quoted the same, $165. Same experience, took an hour and a half and was done beautifully. A few months later, I decided to take the Corolla in. By this third visit, I was a familiar face. There was also another customer that arrived the same time I did. She was helped first and was quoted a little bit more than $99 for her regular car. Then I was helped, he got my info and quoted a time frame then I waited. He also helped another customer and was quoted something different as well. Mind you, their lobby is not really a lobby, its a small ass room as big as a hallway with a desk so I could hear every conversation he had with the other customers, which we all had regular 4-door cars. When my Corolla was done, I cashed out, got my receipt, and left. The sad thing is that I noticed AFTER was that I was charged $165 again. I admit, it was my fault for not checking my receipt as he handed it to me, I received the receipt and bounced. but I mean, that obviously was annoying. I've always known about the $99 for "regular cars" and by the time I could have fought this off, it was past closing time. Yes it was a bit upsetting about the price difference but I actually love their tint job which sort of kept my mood bitter sweet about the situation. My last experience with them was hella annoying which is why I decided not to do business with them anymore. I prefer not to make certain things a big deal but in this case I kind of wish I did because I was out a good $65. Honestly, these guys are great at what they do and they offer a lifetime warranty for their tint. My last visit with them, I noticed that you should just be cautious of their prices because they quote people differently not just on type of cars, but also on types of people, esp the push overs that will pay anything. read more

Had my tint done here and it started peeling off within a few months. So I went back to have them fix it and they were total JERKS. I called them and told them the issue and was told to come in without an appointment. When I went in, rather than helping me with the inconvenience they told me they were too busy and I had to schedule an appt. Then they told me to come back at 5:30, which would have been fine but then it turns out they were closing at 4pm that day. Initial work was well done, but BEWARE that this shop will NOT honor their lifetime warranty. I went back for warranty service since the tint is now bubbling a few years later. The owner told me that the original receipt is required. I took 3 of my cars to this shop over the years, so I asked him to look up my customer information and he said he could not do that. This is completely unreasonable - I know he keeps a database of customer info and cars he's worked on. He was an also very rude about it showing he was simply not interested in honoring the very warranty he advertises. Avoid this place. read more

Stationed out in San Diego I could not find a reliable place to get my tint done at. I've had it replaced countless times because of fading, huge bubbles, and scratches. But I was recommended this tint shop from a buddy of mine living in Temecula. I was somewhat hesitant on driving an hour for window tint, but surprisingly it was well worth it. I met one of the owners who's name was Dre. He was very polite, extremely knowledgeable in tint and helped me out immensely with what I wanted to do with my car. Cali tintz, formally known as darksyde blew me away with their five star service. From start to finish the experience was perfect. I called and made an appointment and they got me in same day. I felt so bad they stayed a little after closing to finish my car but they didn't show any animosity that they had to stay late. I love when people care enough about their job that they just want their customers to be happy.
