Update - less than 6 months after the repair , the paint is cracking as the bondo had not dried sufficiently before they painted the door ( for the 2 nd time!)- an addition within 2 months the inner door handle broke off - only to discover that they had used an epoxy glue to fix the handle they broke while disassembling the door!! I came here because my insurance company recommended the place. I was in an accident that took off my driver side mirror and some damage to the door panel. It was close to my work place so it was convenient to drop off for repair. They finished the repair in a week and I was thrilled since some of the parts were hard to find OEM. After work, I picked up the car and paid them and went on my way. Upon driving home, my speakers were buzzing with a loud static noise and wouldn't go away. Since the door panel was opened up during repairs, the wiring must have gotten messed up which affected the speakers. I went back the next day to inquire about it and was rudely told it wasn't their problem anymore?! That's pretty messed up. The customer service ends once the bill has been paid. I went to my usual mechanic and was told my driver side OEM part was replaced with a regular side mirror...my original side mirror had auto defrost function. No wonder they were able to finish the repair so quickly, they didn't even bother to order the special OEM part. They also had to disconnect the wiring for that function. So now that doesn't work as its supposed to anymore. Then a week later, my driver side door could not be opened with the key or the alarm. My work hours are pretty demanding so I could not get to my usual mechanic. I had to spend a few weeks climbing in and out of the passenger side which is pretty embarrassing and a hassle. Finally when my mechanic could take a look at the car, he said a small cheap plastic rod had broken off and that is why the car door no longer opened and stayed locked. He also said that the cheap plastic part was supposed to have been replaced every time the door panel was opened. Caiber didn't do that also and they were the last to have opened up the car door panel. Your car may be repaired to LOOK like new... but in my experience the work was shoddy and sloppy. It caused a chain of events that was not worth it. My insurance company said I should have never paid the bill upfront. The payment would have been paid by the insurance company once the work was done to satisfaction. Lesson learned. read more

I went to caliber collision about a year and a half ago after being in a terrible accident, the whole front left side of my car was smashed in. when i took it into caliber they said they could fix it. When i got it back, it looked fine if you weren't really paying attention.the outside of the car looked great but after i got to driving it around, i started noticing little defects. My suspension clicks when i go over bumps and then break, my sun roof has dimples on all four sides from warped metal, and the sun roof no longer works all the time, there are panels inside the front right of my car that are loose. i drove my friend to a car repair place elsewhere and one of the guys who worked there told me that the whole frame was tweaked! When i told him i took it to caliber, he was APPALLED that they had not caught or told me about the obvious frame damage. Recently i went to get new tires and the rear tires had shock/ suspension wear (huge dents in the rubber) on them from the rear suspension being blown out from the car accident! After getting opinions from many mechanics, it became clear that my car should have been totaled! Every time i take the car into caliber, the people i talk to say that the problems were not caused in that accident and that they are not responsible. So much for the life time warranty! Caliber took the job to suck money out of my insurance when the car should have just been totaled. Now that my car is falling to pieces they refuse to help me fix it! Don't trust them! read more

I needed bodywork done after a gal bashed into me. I'd been given suggestions from my insurance so I decided the best way to pick a place would be by good yelp reviews. These guys had good reviews and now I know why! They were professional and streamlined from start to finish! They were synced up with my insurance in no time, kind, courteous, prompt and never made me wait more than a couple minutes, and even then they always offered me water/coffee/soda as a nicety! I liked that they texted me updates and called as well. The rental car (hertz) was right next door (though hertz was kinda off their game!) so getting my rental was easy! They stated 10 days for the work but I got it back in 9, however at one point they called and said it might be 8! Either way, it was fine. The only tiny speed bump was since they told me that it might be eight days, I kept waiting for a call on that 8th day but no word, so I wound up calling on the ninth to clarify so that was a little speedbump but not a big deal regardless! Fantastic experience. Dave the manager and everyone there I interacted with took excellent care of me and my car. I had very extensive hail damage repaired at a Caliber in Colorado last year where they practically rebuilt the entire car, and then we moved to Carlsbad over the summer. I recently began having issues with random intermittent electrical problems, alarm, door locks, etc. Dave contacted the shop in Colorado for me, arranged a rental car at no charge and worked with Honda to diagnose the problem for over a week. Even gave me the car back with a fresh wash and vacuum. I felt so well cared for, such a breath of fresh air when dealing with car repairs is usually so unpleasant. Got rear-ended and hit car in front, so damage to front and back, seemed minor but turned out to be $9k damage and took 35 days. Caliber handled everything with excellent customer service and status notifications by text and email. If I could give 4.5 stars I would because I had to take the car back to adjust the hood gaps, but it was minor and they had it done in half a day. When they ran over the estimated time they offered up a car rental at no cost to me, probably would be covered by insurance, but they did so explaining the reason and with apologies. I think their work is excellent especially giving credit to their paint department. read more

Unfortunately, I had to visit Caliber again, and their service was just as good as the last time. The estimate was quick, and the repairs were made in a timely fashion - brought my car in on Wednesday and had it back by Friday. My car was repaired at Caliber Collision 2 years ago in Dec. I had front end & rear end damage to my car. The radiator was replaced in the repairs. This last Dec. a leak in the seam of the radiator was discovered after almost overheating. I ended up taking it back to Caliber & they determined it was a faulty radiator & they replaced it with a brand new factory radiator at no cost to me!! After my parents were involved in an accident that damaged their front bumper, AAA assigned Caliber Collision to do the repair. I was very skeptical after reading their Yelp rating (2.5 stars out of 4 reviews as of 6/1/12) and indicated my concern to Raymond at Caliber Collision. He immediately addressed my concern by saying they receive positive reviews but many of them get filtered. I wasn't aware of such a feature on Yelp but later found it to be true (i.e., out of 17 filtered reviews, fourteen were 5 stars and two were 4 stars!!) What an unfortunate shame these stellar reviews are not averaged into their overall rating because they did an excellent job on my parents' car. Raymond kept us updated throughout the repair process and within a few days, my parents retrieved their car (which my mother described as looking "brand new"). Not only did they repair the bumper, they also repaired a couple other items (for free), and returned it after a car wash. Thank you Raymond and Caliber Collision for taking such wonderful care of my parents and their car. You provided one of the best customer service we have ever experienced. This was absolutely a flawless way to get my car fixed. Recommended by Farmer's, I just pulled up front and asked to get a quote. Richard is a gem, front desk, so sweet and efficient. All the claims info is electronic, so I had no bother with it. They made popcorn for my 3 year old and did some other fixes to the car at discounted rates while fixing the covered damage. Which looks beautiful by the way. They had it done in the 6 day estimate, like they said they would, for the price that was quoted. Richard courteously called to update me along the way. Called Enterprise to ensure someone was there to pick me up and have the rental car ready. I am a mom of 3 wild kids. When I damaged my car, I thought to myself...way to give yourself another headache. Our car was sideswiped overnight at a hotel (the cowards didn't leave a note). The paint from the other car was spread across three panels on ours. USAA had already approved the repair but we wanted to explore our options first and in person. Nathan gave us a guesstimate of $1,700, of which we would pay the $500 deductible in addition to at least a 5 day car rental which wasn't covered by our insurance. While we were gnashing our teeth and saying "Oh woe is us" he went and got some solvent and successfully removed all the paint and rubber (that looked like scratches) the other car had deposited on ours. All that remained was a one inch scratch to which we applied touch-up paint from a previous repair, and a shallow dent that is not noticeable unless the light is perfect.
