Still giving this location a 0 star review since the store manager lied and made up a story about having an impact on my prior repair. He was so slimy like a bad car salesman. On the other hand Jackson at the location in Auburn was an absolute miracle man! He went above and beyond speaking with his regional manager to have this peice repaired. He even looked puzzled when I explained the other manager said there was an impact mark. He admitted there was none. Get the manager from Grass Valley out of there! Why wouldn't he honor the lifetime warranty when they made a mistake in the repair? Does he get in trouble for the faulty work? Why would he lie and make up that story? read more

Caliber collision of Grass Valley California is wonderful. We recently had extensive repairs done on our 2005 Toyota Solara . With the help of Teresa and Coleton the manager they did an incredible job at a very reasonable price. I would have given them five stars for this alone but this is not the end of the story. Just a matter of weeks after we have this repair done we managed to break off our wing mirror on the driver side. My partner not realizing that they would not usually install this part, ordered it from Car Parts. It was not until I talk to Teresa that I was aware of this fact. After some discussion with Teresa she said she would ask Colton if they would do it as a courtesy and would call me in a few days. Needless to say almost immediately they installed the part and when I went to pick it up I asked what the charge would be. They said no charge. We are an elderly couple On a fixed-income and they were so kind and patient and did such a professional job we will always take our cars there for any type of repair that we need. I went to Caliber to have my right rear mirror replaced, which was broken in an accident. I had the replacement and needed to have it installed. I had minor fender repairs to my Honda Ridgelime. Have used Tripp's in the past but my insurer wanted Caliber. Happy that I did. I think what pleased me most was the treatment I received from Joleana Marcy, a Service Advisor. My husband and I were involved in a minor collision and we were referred to Caliber by our insurance company. Kaleigh handled our estimate and she was amazing, very helpful and encouraging. When she looked at the area on our car, she said she thought it could possibly just be buffed out so she took it into the shop and they buffed it out at no charge!! The rubber that was on our door panel from the other vehicle's oversized tires came off completely. We were thrilled! We asked her a couple of questions unrelated to our collision and she recommended a product and a solution for each concern. She was so knowledgeable and compassionate. She focused first on what could be done for us without an actual claim. She was as happy as we were over the results and said she'd call our insurance company to cancel the claim. We realize most collision damage is not this easy to fix. We were blessed. GROSS NEGLIGENCE AT CALIBER COLLISION I had an accident a couple of months ago and Caliber Collision was the shop I used for repairs. Key repairs were: replacement of rack and pinion (critical part of the steering system that was extremely damaged); engine cradle replacement; replacement of parts of the exhaust system, fuel system, and suspension. Pete Perez is a customer manager from Caliber who communicated with me and who handed me the car at the end. When I picked up the car and started driving, I immediately heard a loud pounding sound on the right side and a whistling scraping sound on the left side. We returned to Caliber Collision and technician Mike realized that the backing plate on the right brake had been bent when they assembled the wheel. They fixed it. I drove away for the second time. The sound on the right disappeared but remained on the left side. I returned to the Caliber Collision again. Pete took a ride with me and assured me that this sound is normal for a hybrid. I repeatedly said that the sound was never present before the accident. Ultimately, we agreed I would take the car for the weekend and come back if the sound remains, which it did. I came back to Caliber for the third time. Technician Mike drove the car with me, told me he hears the noise and agreed that it is NOT normal. They took my car back to the shop. Then, Mike came back and said they could not find any issues. He thinks the noise is coming from the engine, and they didn't touch the engine. I asked if I should leave the car, so they could look further. They didn't want to do that. Pete says, "If you are interested in chasing the noise, you can take it to another shop, but it will be an out-of-pocket expense". Next day I brought the car to another shop for inspection. The results were SHOCKING! 1) Rack and Pinion boot was missing. In the pictures you can see the interior carpet with no rack and pinion boot and/or a seal. Because of that, we heard the engine and wind noise inside, AND exhausts were directly getting into the cabin. There is literally a hole in the car that would let water, contaminants, and rodents freely enter into the cabin. Most importantly, any driver and passenger/s would be breathing cancerogenic fumes at all times while driving the vehicle. This is the direct reason for the noise and abnormal sound I was repeatedly asking Caliber Collision to investigate. There was A HOLE IN MY CAR, through which you can see the ground, and Caliber either didn't know or lied to me. I honestly don't know which is worse. 2) Exhaust system was malfunctioning. Rear muffler installed by Caliber was not properly secured to the exhaust manifold. Exhaust system, as a result, was leaking and, since exhaust clamps were not attached, the exhaust system was not working at all. So, the car was not in compliance with the local exhaust laws, and not safe. In combination with missing rack and pinion, it would lead to people breathing even more direct exhausts from the car all the time. 3) Control arms/bushings not replaced. My car was released to me with torn control arms, which impacts steering and handling and is simply dangerous. 4) Steering wheel was misaligned. The car was not properly aligned post-repairs and was off to the right, which I noticed when I first got onto the freeway. It was scary and, obviously, also dangerous. SUMMARY: THE CAR WAS NOT PROPERLY REPAIRED AND RELEASED TO ME IN A CONDITION THAT MAKES IT UNSAFE AND OUT OF COMPLIANCE. I reported Caliber Collision to BAR (Bureau of Automotive Repairs, part of the government Consumer Affairs department). BAR got back to me and helped me to go through the whole process of restoring my vehicle to safe and drivable conditions. BAR also found out that Caliber missed replacing multiple bolts when repairing my car, which is a manufacturing standard. Caliber Collision had to directly pay another shop to do all these fixes, since I do not want to deal with them ever again. BAR cited Caliber for gross negligence, did 2 field trips to the facility and will continue monitoring their operations. I received a call from Caliber's general manager Brett, who was apologetic but then failed to follow-up and/or to provide me with a rental car. It was the worst experience ever and I highly suggest AVOIDING THIS SHOP at all costs. read more

Posting this for my mother who does not have Yelp: Last year she received excellent and timely professional help from Caliber Collision body shop . She also stopped in the other day to see about an easy fix for a small dent. Right away, the service professional counseled and explained what kind of damage was actually done and a few options. She opted for the easier quick fix. He obliged by doing a touchup and some light sanding to make it look like nothing ever happened. read more

My recent experience with Caliber Collision was not very pleasant. Had two claims, one cash, one insurance - cash claim was 3 times the estimate from the insurance company without any notification of higher cost when repaired, on my insurance claim they overcharged my card twice the deductible and lastly when I got our car home the door handle fell off....they did fix the door and credit me $1k CC overcharge but refused to come clean with cash claim, bad business not to notify the customer of higher repairs on a estimate....do not recommend ever read more

Calibur Collision got me in immediately the next morning after filing my claim the evening before. They completed the work within a week and it was done with precision. I have a trip planned and they were able to get it done prior to us leaving which was perfect! my car was cleaned and vacuumed upon me picking up. We took our RAV4 in for a hit n run on the passenger back door! I was immediately greeted by the office staff. I was assigned to Kelsey! She was awesome! She kept me up to date on how everything was going by emailing me thru the whole process! The greatest email was when I received that our car was ready! Earlier than expected! I want to compliment Caliber Collision for their latest attempt at solving issues with my car. It took a lot of effort and time and inconvenience both on my part and certainly on their part, but it appears that we now have a pretty good result after several attempts at making some minor roof dents disappear. I would consider using CC again after this latest effort and I appreciate the extra mile service provided. To recap previously stated attributes of this Caliber location: -Everyone is pretty courteous, friendly. The service writer Pete is excellent. -Facility is super clean, modern, and very easy parking. -Paperwork is handled professionally and text message updates are a nice touch. -Paint color matching is excellent. -I did have a lot of issues getting my roof to not look wavy after some dents were filled/smoothed and along with solvent paint pop (bubbles) in the initial repair, but this is has been addressed pretty well now and I am much more pleased with the results. Went in needing a car alignment and a weird noise checked out. The general manager, Brett was quick to help figure out what I needed and the rest of the office was super friendly and helpful. They got my car in and aligned in great time. As far as the weird noise they went above and beyond to check all areas of the car and get to the root of the problem. I was ecstatic to leave with no annoying clicking sound, especially as I had already brought my car to my cars dealership multiple times and they were unable to fix it. We just picked up our car today from Caliber and I wanted to make sure I posted a positive review. They were all great, from beginning to end, specifically Pete. Pete was incredibly communicative from beginning to end and gave me detailed updates on a regular basis. Even when they received the wrong parts, he was quick to call me and let me know the car wouldn't be ready on the day promised, but they made sure it was ready the following week. I even had three different people call me to tell me the work was done....so, they are definitely attentive and on top of their business. DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE!! I had a horrible experience here and I do not recommend this company or location. Here's why: I was not informed that my car will have to be disassembled in order to have an evaluation for a repair. They kept postponing the evaluation for 2 weeks and when I came to see my car, and saw it all in pieces I was shocked to hear that I will need to pay if I want them to put my car back together. They did everything in their power to make sure my car will be declared a total loss. Because my car was disassembled I was not able to bring it to any other mechanic for a second opinion. I lost my car but most importantly I lost many days on the phone with Caliber Collision and my insurance for the next steps. It was a nightmare. I reached out to their headquarters in Texas and no one responded back. Customers are just a number for them, and they did not even bother acknowledge all the stress they put me through. It is business like this one that ruin people's trust and this economy. I am sure Caliber Collision can at least have a customer support phone call or email, but they do not. Every thing about my experience with Caliber Collision was positive. The initial estimate of when the car would be ready was exactly correct. They communicated with me several times when the repair work was being done. The actual work looks awesome, and the car was very nicely cleaned. Here's the kicker. There was minor damage and transfer paint unrelated to the repair work being done. I asked for a separate quote to get that done, but never received one. When I picked up the car, it had been done!! I checked the itemization of the repair work and it wasn't there. I think that they couldn't bear the thought of the car leaving their lot without fixing that. I hope I never need body work done again, but if I do I know where I'm going. read more

I had a 'dislocated' right side rear panel on my Toyota Camry after clipping a curb with the mud guard. I took it to the dealer and told me they couldn't (or wouldn't?) repair it and recommended that I should take it to Caliber. I met with the GM Brett Mack and showed him the problem. He immediately went and got one of his techs (Sorry, I forgot the name of the tech) to review the damage. The tech went right to work, popped some fasteners, realigned the panel and clipped it back into place in a couple of minutes. Looks like new! And the icing on the cake - NO CHARGE for the service! They are still the BEST in the industry, strive for excellence, exhibit professionalism, breed confidence, instill quality, and 'treat me better than family'! I especially like working with Bret but they are all great people! Although there have been personnel changes over the decades, you get wonderfully world-classed customer service from the second you walk in the door. They are quick to acknowledge, greet you with a smile, and have a relaxing, friendly attitude. If they can't take care of you right that second, they briefly redirect you to their nice lounge area in their beautiful office space. Enterprise car rental is conveniently located in an attaching office, too. They do an impeccable repair job and if there are any issues, they are quick to resolve them. Although the staff was extremely helpful and polite, I am having problems getting my vehicle finished. A wrong part was ordered, that was three weeks ago . A couple other things were not acceptable, which they said they will fix when the vehicle comes back to put on the correct part. I received a call after almost 3 weeks to reschedule due to workers out sick, I was understanding and said no problem. I was told they would call back beginning of the week to reschedule, I have not received a call yet. I am losing faith. read more

This is the best auto repair shop ever. My new SUV was side swiped from the front to the back. I went to another company first for an estimate , they were going to remove my bumper, my windows etc... this didn't seem right to me so I went to Caliber ! Caliber did an excellent job, no part of my car was dismantled, my SUV was new again. Plus Caliber did the work for 1/2 the cost of the other garage ! They even set up a 'loaner' for me and when the work was done they returned the loaner to Hertz, stress free for me.
