My car was undriveable from October to May tying us into a legal expense in addition. Choosing them is the second most expensive mistake I've ever made in my life (upper tens of thousands), undoubtedly. Choosing this establishment to work on my vehicle was a mistake. We will be recuperating for years due to our decision to trust them and after consistently bringing business. They claim to respect our veterans, which I find laughable. I strongly advise conducting thorough research on body shops, inquiring about others' experiences, and listening attentively. Got into an accident on December 24,2024. Decided to take my vehicle to caliber collision on Amador, as I believed they were "the best". But now finding out they are not so great. Received first estimate and the green light from the insurance company to begin repair. Parts were ordered and interior and exterior components including the entire dashboard was removed so repairs could begin. Naturally additional parts were needed, which is understandable and a supplemental was issued. I entered into a property damage agreement with my insurance where they would pay for the first estimate amount and I would pay for the difference of the supplemental...sounds simple, after all money is money and caliber is in the business of performing body damage repairs to make money. However NO...Caliber refused to accept this payment. They refuse to finish the repairs that were started and refuse to put my vehicle back together. So, there sits my vehicle with the entire dashboard removed, interior removed, doors and fenders removed. Now keep in mind, the car was completely drivable- damage was done to the drivers side doors. But now, I can't even drive it as they removed the dash,interior, doors and fenders. Hell they even ordered...and already received the parts from their initial estimate...just waiting to be installed. Just finish the damn job... not rocket science here. I have never heard of a business refusing money. I have never heard of a business ruining a customers car by not putting it back together once it was their "Caliber's" own decision to not finish the work, despite knowing they would receive payment and a payment agreement already entered into between the insurance company and the customer. The vehicle is fixable...money is ready and available... there is no "real" reason they give other than "we have not ran into this before"...well that's because you will only deal with insurance companies and not the customer. You must be getting something special out of only dealing with insurance companies...almost like a kickback. Definitely makes you wonder. Finally, their customer service is horrible when it comes to follow ups and statuses....being told so many times that I am sick of hearing it..." I'll do my best" from the manager there. He has not done his best by any stretch. While I can understand that their corporate office dictates his work and he would get in trouble for doing the right thing for their customers... which is deplorable... their corporate office needs a lesson on not starting a job if they are going to end up not finishing it and if they do start a job and it is their decision to not follow through, then returning the car to its condition when it was dropped off is what needs to happen. Hello....ever heard of customer service?? It is wholly unacceptable to put a customer in a dilema where caliber is refusing to accept good money to finish a repair but refusing to put the customers car back together so they can seek out another body shop to do the job. Another body shop will not accept a job that has already been ruined by caliber. I say ruined as that is what Caliber did...ruined a perfectly fixable car. Caliber is a business out to make money... I damaged my trick installing my awning putting a huge gouge in my gas tank and on my camper topper. I got a new gas tank cover but it needed painted. So I called and came over, after 15 min I had an estimate for painting the gas tank cover and touching up the scratch on my camper topper. I scheduled a time to drop off the cover to paint and them came back 2 days later. They swapped our the cover and touched up the paint in 20 min. Pint match was spot on, the staff were great and the prices couldn't be beat. definitely recommend them for this type of work. read more

Very disappointed! So I am a travel nurse and we had an accident here in Las Cruces. We had been to another body shop that just really didn't want to deal with us because our insurance was from Texas! So looked on here and saw the AMAZING reviews !! Called up and Valarie in office was like yes we will do your car. I asked about bringing it in for an estimate.. she told me no need to. Once they confirmed with the insurance company and got the check they would order the parts so it was good to go!! Thought that sounded fishy but I was like awesome!!!! So our insurance people emailed them the estimate... confirmed payment etc. we got a call back from Valarie and set up a day to bring our car in.... wow I'm impressed ... Fast forward to today... we get there this morning... the girl who walks out (I assume Valerie).. but I would have no idea because she didn't bother to say hi, good morning, introduce herself ... nothing ! Very unprofessional and down right rude. Then a guy comes out... again no introduction ... NOTHING! And precedes to tell us that he will "tear the car apart" and get with the insurance company because he's not "familiar" with our insurance. . No parts have been ordered and it could take a couple weeks .... I'm like that's not we were told!!! No apology ... NOTHING!!! We need our car fixed and yet they have ZERO communication with us and we have to wait on communication Btwn insurance and them (mind you I SPECIFICALLY asked about that) and then to order parts!!! Horrible customer service. Manager Matt is unresponsive. Poor quality work. Color matching and overspray issues. Some work not completed. I have used caliber in the past with satisfactory results but this location is very poorly managed and is embarrassing to the brand. Wouldn't take my lawn equipment there under current leadership. read more

We took our car to Caliber Collision on Amador St. I'm Las Cruces, NM after we were rear ended. The manager and staff were all very friendly and professional. The car was left like new. They helped us with our rental and had the car fixed before the estimated date of completion. I highly recommend this shop not only because they care and treated us with respect but because their work was top notch. Took my daughter's new 2019 Ford Escape with only 4352 miles for repairs on her bumper after somebody bumped into her. It was bad timing as she was in finals at NMSU. She was very stressed and our advisor Kyle, assured her and us that everything would be fine and guaranteed their work with a lifetime warranty for as long as you owned this vehicle. Looking at older reviews, I wonder if this location is under new management? This was my first time needing to use a collision repair shop, so I was pretty nervous -- but the Amador Caliber Collision was great. Their paperwork was clear and accurate, the staff was kind (always offered us water, shook our hands, spoke to us respectfully, offered us a ride to pick up our rental), and the body work was solid. Not a fan. For as long as they had my truck, i thought they would do quality work, but it was just mediocre. The new truck bed panel they installed had small dents at the bottom already and the paint job on my lower cab was not cured well enough. Also, when they removed my bumper to install the panel, they must have forgotten to disconnect my towing electrical harness. the female security clip was broken off and replaced with electrical tape, which after becoming dirty disengaged from the harness and caused my horse trailer lights and brakes to stop working in the midst of late evening towing.... read more

Possibly one of the worst body repair shops we've ever dealt with in any state. We took our 2017 car with 12K miles on it to have a ding in the door repaired. They insisted on an appointment for an estimate but would give a "ball park" on the spot. The "ball park" price was around $500 and because we were new to the area and they were recommended ("that's the only one we know of") we decided to make the appointment for the 'estimate' which turns out was quite a bit more. Around $850. Not too happy but they were "recommended" then when the car was in for repair they came up with another almost $50 dollars for clips with the excuse "it happens all the time" (making one wonder why it wasn't included initially.... or maybe it was)... The car took longer than promised and when we picked it up we stood right near it and the body guy said 'don't wash it in a car wash for a couple of months'. It looked okay up close looking down on the door. But later on a sunny day from a distance it was clear... embarrassingly clear that they did a horrible job TRYING to fix the 'ding'... and the smooth door now has a 5" rippled circle where the 'repaired ding' was. It had all the appearances of a shady transaction and when we finally got a chance to really see the car on a sunny day from a distance it was clear that the repair job was amateurish at best. I'm not saying they were doing anything illegal... or unethical... but they definitely lack the skills to promote themselves at a top body shop. Lesson learned and we will definitely avoid this grossly overpriced ... whatever they are. read more

Terrible customer service, even the manager of the location was rude telling me that the shops lack of giving me my car back or a date when I can get my car back was "my problem". they have had my car for over 6 weeks for hale damage!!!! the last update was that when they put the car in for paint they found more dents.
