Completely unprofessional experience in trying to get Herbert to come look at our pool for an estimate. He was a total no-show for a scheduled appointment, and when I called him for an explanation he claimed he had the wrong house. Of course he didn't bother to knock on the door or give me a phone call to let me know he was having trouble finding the house. To top it all off, he sounded completely disinterested in setting up another time to come for the estimate or to do the work. I guess he doesn't like business. He seemed to know what he was doing with the hot tub; I will post again and edit this review if anything goes horrifically wrong and he won't get back to me but I doubt that will be the case. He definitely does not over charge you in my opinion, and has several options to pay including credit card and PayPal. He took my ancient above ground hot tub apart that was shorting out and determined the lights were causing it. Very personable guy too. He even came back to fix a loose wire and wasn't going to ask for payment because he thought he might have caused it! I paid him anyway. Really upstanding guy. read more

My spa had some cracks in it that were causing water loss. These guys took care of me. Noe worked extremely hard and he is definitely an expert in his craft. Job ended up being a bit bigger than expected but the owner called and explained what the price difference would be and it was still very fair. Sad, but the honeymoon was over after I discovered a giant leak in my pool's filtration system that had been leaking water for months without being noticed by this pool company. I had huge water bills that I couldn't explain until my new pool company showed me the huge, stinky stagnant water underneath the filtration system. Replacing it was pricey at over $2,000 plus labor to install it. Thankfully I discovered an online vendor called Poolzoom that saved me a bunch of money with zero shipping costs. I had enjoyed working with Herbert from CaliBlue pools but the pool sweeps that I was supposed to have twice a week often times were skipped and my pool wasn't as clean as it used to be. Then my accountant discovered that I had overpaid CaliBlue as I was billed twice. I'm still waiting for a refund but I won't hold my breath. I also certainly feel that Herbert and his CaliBlue company should reimburse me for part of my water bills as they somehow didn't see the leaking filtration system? How does this happen with a self professed pool and spa company? read more

Their response was not truthful. The least they could have done was communicate in an honest manner and maybe help us a little bit, like a reccomendation (that's just good business folks, maybe time to rewatch Macy's vs. Gimbels in "Miracle on 34th street"). To make matters much worse, after we posted this review they got in touch with us and tried to cover their collective butts with more lies and then they blamed it on us. I returned to find the pool was a big mess. I learned he did the same thing to one of my neighbors. I have found a new service. I would NEVER recommend Herbert Perez at Caliblue Pool. P.S. I have read his response to this review. There is no excuse for stopping service when it was understood that he was to provide service until the end of the month. I still have the texts. They show my responses, and at no point did I reject his rate hike or say he should stop coming mid month while he knew I was out of town. He quit without notice! Herbert is fantastic! Last week I had an emergency when our pool pump stopped working (in July!). My pool cleaner was honest and told me he couldn't fix it. I was reluctant to call the company (CB) who installed all of the pool equipment 4 years ago but I was unsure of who to call. I found Herbert (and his company, Cali Blue) on Yelp. He responded to my query within minutes. He gave me a time when he could come take a look and I was so happy that he arrived on time. After looking at the (dead) pump he provided guidance on what was needed as well as the projected cost and difficulty of finding replacement parts which are currently difficult to find. But he was tenacious and found the pump in LA. I didn't want to wait for a delivery in a week, so I drove to LA the next morning to pick it up. Herbert came and installed the new pump hours after I got home. I am so happy with how Herbert took care of our pool. I hope I don't need to call him again soon but anytime I need someone to take care of the equipment I will call Herbert. He's knowledgeable and his rates are very reasonable. read more

I had a heater problem. The response was quick with an appointment made for the next day. Hector arrived when he said he would (how unusual is that?), was competent and professional. Found a setting on the panel that wasn't right and troubleshot it, changed a sensor, and voila! - problem solved. Good communicator who demonstrated he knows what he is doing.
