We hired Joel to do a pool deck repair and resurface for one of our rental properties. Unfortunately, working with Joel has been a huge headache. He does not employ the people that do the work directly, and is just a middle man that up-charges for work that is done by other contractors, without taking responsibility for the work when something goes wrong. We had multiple issues with the work he was hired to do, and every time he deflected responsibility and blamed someone else. First we agreed on spa concrete coping repair. One section of the spa coping that was cracked that we expected to be repaired was not fixed or replaced. When we asked him about it he said initially it would be $800 extra. After we said no he tried to negotiate us down to $200 extra instead of being professional and doing a proper job and proper repair that we hired him for. Joel said it was not part of the quote - which is just unprofessional of him as his quote said "Spa coping concrete repair with new rebar and granite." The spa coping was not fully repaired even though that is what we hired him for. Joel took no responsibility for this and deflected responsibility to his "concrete guy". We hired Joel to repair and resurface our pool deck and were upset to find out that he was planning to charge us extra for repairing the side of the spa after the work was already under way. A typical move from an untrustworthy contractor trying to get more money out of clients. It would have been ridiculous for us to resurface the pool without fixing the side of the spa, but Joel tried to blame it on us and said again that it was not in the original quote. If i'm hiring someone to repair my pool i'm clearly expecting that to include all of the pool deck, even the side of the spa, the top of the spa, the coping, etc...take a look at the images and see how bad it would have looked to leave it without repairing - so we had no choice but to pay an additional $600. After gaslighting and blaming me for a while, eventually Joel admitted that he should have told us this in the beginning before starting the job. Obviously if we knew he would do a half finished job for these two areas in the beginning, we would have gone with a different contractor that had a better offer. But the fun doesn't stop there; His workers flooded our pool during their work, and as per usual he blamed us for it saying our pool guy didn't turn off the hose - when he wasn't even the one who started filling up the pool and was never told to turn it off. Luckily we had guests at the property who notified us and turned the water off otherwise the whole house would have flooded causing thousands in damages. While repairing the concrete Joel's workers damaged the pool tiles and left without fixing them. We had to chase Joel around over the phone and text before he finally agreed to have someone come out and fix the tiles. Then he tried to act like he was so nice for doing this for free, when his guys were the ones that damaged the tile in the first place - so of course he should replace and fix the damages for free. We feel that Joel owes us $800 for his incompetence and dishonestly. $200 for the spa concrete that was never repaired, and $600 for the spa wall that we were charged extra for after the work was underway. Of course we will not recuperate those losses from him, so instead we hope to warn other customers who are considering his services of the potential losses they may also incur. Im sure he will reply to this message, make excuses, and blame me or someone else for all of this, as per usual. TLDR: Unreliable. Terrible customer service. Takes no responsibility for the work he is hired to do. Communication with him was outstandingly difficult and we felt like we were constantly chasing him around to fix the damages he has caused. read more

We hired Joel to service our pool,Joel started off eager for the business but that changed in less then a year he hired incompetent and unreliable people to service my pool,the last guy was the worst could not clean a pool I was getting a low salt warning Joel had him clean my cell but the warning was still there,he was just dumping bags of salt in my pool,turned out the cell was never cleaned properly I had to drain my pool because of the high salt,Joel never stopped him from adding all the salt,Joel finally came out and inspected the cell and found it full of calcium he said the salt will disappear in about a month don't worry about it then he said you better drain it,and last I asked Joel to service my pool,his reply was I will be more expensive and I get busy and probably won't show up,his interest is contracting work pool repair and equipment maintenance not pool service,hope this review will keep this from happening to someone else,funny you respond to negative reviews quickly but never responded to my text or calls properly read more

this pool service is not my regular contractor. They replaced my pool pump ( and over charged me) and when working on surrounding piping opened a suction valve, discovered it was corroded inside and closed it back up. problem is when they reinstalled the valve bonnet they reused the old ring and never informed me of what they found. After a month or so of the pump intermittently not pumping due to an air leak in the suction, and them looking at it and telling me it was a partially plugged up strainer, I discovered The old O rings, allowed an air leak, closing the pump to vapor lock and not circulation water. Charging me $100 to tell me it was a strainer, and since I discovered this air leak, I was then told that the broken valve was the cause of the problem. They knew what they had done, but avoided informing me, or dealing with the problem until we had many discussions and I explained to them that I was pretty sure that the pump was light for locking due to an air leak. When, insisting that they had to provide some sort of warranty, they were at that point, failed to further communicate with me while telling my home management company, but I was being difficult to deal with. Since this issue, I have heard of other problems in the area where they excessively bill and don't provide back up for their service. Buyer beware. read more
