I love getting acupuncture here! I noticed big improvements. I will say that consistency is key. If there's too much time that passes in between then I can feel it in my body. I would recommend Dr Zhu Ying Huang. She's amazing! I've done cupping too which has helped me a lot with my back pain. I have tried 2 other acupuncturist throughout the years. She has been the best! She really listens and her technique works! Last acupuncturist would leave my body hurting for days! I called them to schedule an appointment and confirm my inusurance, they said that I still have to pay $110 deductible even if I already met them. They are really hard to talk to and very rude. The person who always answers the phone keeps on interrupting me while I'm still talking that's why she keeps on telling wrong answers. Getting an appointment has been very simple and the office is very responsive. I appreciate the email confirmations of getting or cancelling an appointment. Parking here it's pretty available, especially if you just park at the lot around the corner. The office is very relaxing and clean, especially inside the treatment rooms- the music is perfect to take a nap with. Last few years, I've been coming to Dr. Huang intermittently for allergy relief. Despite being dosed with prescribed meds, allergy season would have me feeling like a truck has run over my head from the pressure. Just with 1 session with Dr. Huang, I could feel the relief of pressure coming off the bridge of my nose and head. Yes, it doesn't last forever - but it helps greatly until allergy season goes away. You barely feel the needles, Dr. Huang has a very light touch that's very much appreciated. Insurance is accepted here and my primary care suggested acupuncture to help with my old back injury when it acts up. When I first injured my back in 2013, it was acupuncture that kept debilitating back pain at bay for me; with physical therapy as well, I slowly got back to being able to function semi-normally. I usually come in once every 2 weeks, it's been about 4 months now and the sharp pain I used to get has gone away as well as the soreness around my spine has lessen greatly. This is all on top of normal exercise and stretching to help with my muscles, but I greatly attribute Dr. Huang's expertise of points that need assistance with acupuncture that's lead to my back feeling so much better. With the needles in, adding light electrical simulation definitely has been a great addition, my back feels so relaxed after each session. Final Thoughts: There can be co-pays with using insurance, but for the relief I get each session here - allergies or my back... it's all so worth it. I have been recommending Dr. Huang to anyone that's asked me about acupuncture and will continue to do so! read more

I'm so grateful for the care I've received at CAC, especially from Dr. Lillian Huang and Dr. Elena Lee. They have been working with my body for several months now, and the difference in my health has been incredible. On every visit, she goes over how long the efficacy of treatments lasted and current issues which she focuses on. I would give you guys zero stars if I could. This review is about the distressing events that unfolded the day of my grandmothers appointment on Friday, July 7 at 12:30p. My mother dropped her off and watched her walk into the acupuncture office at 1025 B St in Hayward. She was to be treated once AGAIN by DR. HUANG for her back. This wasn't her first time there. When my grandfather went to pick her up about 45 minutes later, he was told she never checked in. He is told several times she never had an appointment for that day and no one by that name ever checked in. This is COMPLETELY FALSE and very disturbing because she absolutely checked in. He described my grandmother to the front desk. What she was wearing, her name, what she looked like and even showed them a picture of her. My grandfather begins to panic as he frantically searches for my grandmother, including walking to neighboring businesses just be told she was not there either. My mother, who dropped her off an hour earlier, was literally about to come from San Leandro to help him look for my grandmother. He then says he will call the police if he can't find his wife soon. It should NEVER have gotten to this point. DR HUANG offered to go in the back to look again. She came back confirming no one is back there, that the rooms are empty, which was a blatant lie. I know she was there because her Apple Watch that she's wearing confirms that your office is her current location! Ten minutes later, she comes out of the office. She had been there the WHOLE TIME!! The level of incompetence with the staff and doctor is disturbing and it only gets worse. We figured out that the whole time she had been checked in and TREATED as a different person. Not as herself, but as someone the staff and doctor called "Sandy." This was confusing to my grandmother since she had TOLD YOU guys her name at the time of check-in. You guys worked on her under a different patients name, which means you recorded her data on another patients chart. It also means you disclosed another patients personal info to my grandmother. HIPAA violation. The following is my grandmothers recollection of that day: "When I went to check in, I told JESSICA (front desk staff) 'this is (grandmothers name) for 12:30p.' JESSICA told me I didn't have an appointment at that time. She told me it was at 2:30. This was incorrect. She was already thinking I was someone else, perhaps the person whose name she called me by, Sandy. She said she greeted me with, "hi Sandy" and that I went along with it and said hi, but that IS NOT TRUE. I wouldn't have answered to that name because that is not my name. She then left the desk and spoke to someone and came back and opened the locked inside door and said you can wait in the last door with the light on. I went to the restroom which is right across from the exam room and waited for 5 mins before the doctor came in. When the exam began she was insisted I was there for my shoulder, specifically my right shoulder even though I told her it was my lower back. She was insistent it was my shoulder and TREATED ME for it. I know she was going by someone else's chart because most of the treatment was for my right shoulder and she kept asking me how my shoulder felt. She was referring to someone else's chart, not mine. Because I kept insisting she had been treating me for my back, she decided that to give back some attention as well, but not the attention it truly needed." "While I was there sitting in the chair with my top off and needles in, someone opened the door. My eyes were closed so when I heard someone there I thought it was the doctor. When I opened my eyes I only saw the legs and shoes of someone closing it. I got concerned because I thought, what if it was a man who opened it because they never said anything. Now that I think about it, whoever opened the door didn't want to alert me that someone had made a mistake. I was being treated from someone else's chart." Since that last appointment, my grandmother has been complaining of sharp pains between her shoulder and elbow. She's NEVER had that pain on that arm before. We are very upset, disappointed and disturbed by this chain of events. Your front desk staff needs to have a better way of checking in their patients such as asking for ID. We are hoping my grandmother doesn't have further issues with her arm now, now that she was treated with needles in it when absolutely not necessary. We will be sending this complaint to the California Acupuncture Board. read more

Dr. Lillian Huang is awesome. I have been researching acupuncture for quite some time and have been intrigued. When I made my first appointment, she was very informative based on what my issues were. I was probably sleeping 3.5-4 hrs per night. She assessed me and said she will work on my balance and rejuvenation with cupping. The needles felt like they weren't even there. I don't know exactly how many she put in but what it did helped me immediately. That night I slept a solid 5.5 hrs. It has been getting better ever since. Crystal is my acupuncturist - I came in with severe low back pain and in a matter of 6 sessions, the spasms, as well as the pin prickly pain was down to a 1-2 on a 10 scale. It's a little tough to get parking in the afternoons, and sometimes they run late, but all in all I am super happy with Crystal and their services. She is a great listener and always takes her time making sure she gets the right pressure points. It's very relaxing there and I always walk away feeling like I'm on my way to 100% healing. Overall I think it's an okay place, I had the last appointment of the day when I went there and I had the feeling like the lady doctor was in a rush, very impatient, a little bit rough they way I feel treated. I went there to treat pain in my right shoulder. And the only questions I got it was about my insurance. The pain didn't go away and I just feel like I waste my time and $70 to someone impatient, that give me very short answers and literally open the door for me to leave because they were closing. If you ever go there, make sure you have an early appointment so they don't Kick you out or treat you in a hurry, like me. read more

When I first made the appointment for my father, honestly I had lots of reservations. They have been referred to many massage therapists in the past and nothing seemed to work. Kathy explained the cause of his discomfort and how massage therapy could help. He had gone to doctors that would put him on muscle relaxers and it affected his day to day life. What Kathy was able to do for his pain is indescribable. He constantly thanks her for doing so much for him. He had constant pain which interfered with his work and daily life activities. I started seeing Dr. Lillian Huang for depression, insomnia and low level energy. After a few sessions in conjunction with some herbal pills she recommended, I felt balanced and rested. No more crying bouts, stress meltdowns and I was able to sleep. She also treated me for hair loss and as a female, hair is rather important. She advised some homeopathic treatments for my scalp and treated me for a handful of treatments. The amount of stress I was enduring resulted in alopecia. I saw visible results after a month. I am still seeing Dr. Huang for bilateral hand injuries and have experienced relief and returning hand function. I'm happy that she accepted my worker's comp claim since dealing with worker's comp has been a task in itself. Her office runs smoothly with Kelli her office manager who has helped me on several occasions with worker's comp insurance. I have always preferred Eastern medicine over the Western approach. I can call and ask Dr. Huang if there is another alternative to what doctors are prescribing for me. She's well versed in her field and is always helpful. Really bad experience here. I've seen several different acupuncturists in the Bay and Lilian was unfortunately the worst. I saw her once for some pain issues and she made it worse. She had a few needles that hurt a lot and when I told her that they really hurt, she said it was normal and did not even try to move them around. I mean, the type of pain that made me cry! She also did not seem like she wanted to listen to me....really short consultation time. Luckily the treatment only lasted 20 minutes (although other acupuncture sessions with other acupuncturists lasted 30-50 minutes). But - BIG RED FLAG - the front office girl who checked me in and did my paperwork was the one who took my needles out. Was she trained? Did she even wash her hands? Yikes. When Lilian returned, she stressed that I had to return for 3 sessions that week and the next. I felt like she was more concerned with getting more session fees out of me than really helping me. read more

I first sought acupuncture treatment from the Center in 2012, for back pain and blood pressure issues. At that time, both Lillian and her mother were practicing the old-style methods of Chinese medicine and acupuncture, which are centuries old, and I was lucky to receive treatments from both. My blood pressure became controlled, and I only stopped the treatments because my stepdaughter had become ill. I recently returned because of a back pain episode that was intense and debilitating; although her mother has since retired, Lillian Huang is at the top of her game! With twice-weekly visits, the pain abated and is gone. Because I have studied Chinese medicine over the years, I understand that if the chi (energy) flow is blocked, the needles will initially be painful. I have likened treatments to unclogging of pipes, or fixing an electrical short in a circuit; obviously if you have a blockage, when the needles first go you will feel pain but as the blockage in energy is removed by the needles, the pain will also go away! I cannot recommend the California Acupuncture Center enough. For me, it has made a difference in the way I feel and approach everyday tasks. I recently brought an older friend who has been having TIA (transient ischemic attacks) and who was coming in for the first time with a host of problems. She has become a complete advocate of acupuncture thanks to the excellent work of Lillian and her staff. Pain that she had been dealing with for years is abating. Heat lamp keeps you warm while you meditate with needles inserted. They also do cupping which I also enjoyed. I've used some of the Chinese supplements they sell and found positive results. Dr. Huang & Dr. Li have been helping me with pain relief after my car accident. They are both really amazing women who are exceptionally gifted in healing. With 2 weeks acupuncture treatment along with Herbal pills, my allergy is completely cured.
