Food was decent. Line moved quickly. The $3 upcharge on extra meat definitely worth it as it looked like a lot more came with it than if you ordered just the regular amount. I ordered a side of chips and I got a small bag of maybe 9 chips. That was disappointing. What was also disappointing was the bar overcharging for drinks. The price for what I was charged did not match what was on the menu. I couldn't resolve with the bartender because she was the only person at the bar and it was a very busy bar. First off... I love love, love the food! But I cannot for life to me figure out how to get it in a timely manner... It's always busy in there, which is great! But whenever I order online ahead and get there at the time my food should be ready. I still stand there for another 30 to 40 minutes. We sat at the bar and the bartender was excellent- very knowledgeable and knew what to suggest to my sister when she had trouble remembering her fave drink! And attentive! The food was prepared and served to order-it arrived quick, fresh and hot! The dining room is quaint and not too loud. I recommend getting the mango pico on whatever you order! We stopped in for a quick Saturday lunch at California Burrito in Hudson. I got the famous Califronia burrito which was prepared and assembled right in front of me and I can choose all the ingredients that I want. The steak was really good and everything was super fresh and well seasoned. Prices are fair for what you get. The restaurant looked clean and well decorated. A good place for a quick bite! read more

This place is a gift from god if you live in NH and don't want to drive all the way to Boston to get better "Mexican" food. Or if you live in Boston but occasionally come up to NH for the tax-free shopping. :) Otherwise, for the simple tacos & nachos fare it makes, the Anna's Taqueria chain around metro Boston is much better. For something more resembling real Tex-Mex, the Taqueria El Amigo in Waltham is still the next best thing to real made-in-Texas "Mexican" food you're likely to ever find in New England. It ain't a pretty landscape when it comes to ethnic food, New England. The pros: the food is indeed freshly made, not some hastily warmed-over Sysco crap you'd get from the big national chains like On The Border. Service is good. Place has a very pleasant ambiance: it's spacious, and the decor is sort of "Mexican" with the vibrant bold colors and piped in "Mexican" music...you could actually sit and relax and chill with your friends if you wanted, even though they don't sell booze. The cons: the menu is tiny, clearly done by not Mexicans but Salvadoreans (they do have pupusas on the very short/limited menu board which I expect are probably pretty good, will order some next time if there is one), portions are rather small (the 99 cent chips-and-salsa is 99 cents for that reason, and the salsa is rather bland). The "California Burrito" I had was juicy (from the sauce) and enjoyable but there were some *french fries* inside (WTF?) and again, rather modestly sized. Horchata was rather small for $3 and overly sweet/thick. The fish tacos were also juicy and enjoyable but you could barely taste the frozen breaded fish. Luckily, they do have self-serve bottles of Cholula next to the napkins which helped to liven things up greatly. (I'd avoid the brown "chipotle" Cholula though, tastes like A-1 steak sauce.) Still, you could do a lot worse in lily-white NH where most of the restaurants are bar&grills and pizzerias, and close at 8 or 9pm. Location, location, location. read more

When you ask for fajita veggies that they charge extra for and they give you 4 strands of onion and a single pepper strand and you politely ask is it cool if I just get a little more and then they give you just that, a little more and then charge you again and then half again. I get why people love this place and the food is good but I'm over the nickel and diming of items they are charging extra for and the ridiculous lines at each location which one would assume is because they are so popular, which is part of it but it's mostly due to the severe lack of urgency when servicing customers. Delicious and fresh! California Burritos is now open in Hudson, next door to Kendall Pond Pizza on NH 3A. Their other location is in Nashua. They serve up fresh & quick made to order burritos, burrito bowls tacos, salads, and quesadillas. The prices depending on protein choice is $7-$8.10 plus tax. They also offer chips & salsa ($0.99), fish tacos, Coke fountain drinks, Jarritos, and bottled beers. The place is order at the glass counter where they make your food fresh to order. There is ample self serve table seating in the festive dining area I stopped in at California Burritos of Hudson for a Grilled Chicken Burrito ($7.60 plus tax). I chose a black bean tortilla filled with grilled chicken (small cut pieces), black beans, cilantro rice, hot salsa, Pico pineapple, lettuce, shredded cheese & onions. I held off on the guacamole ($2 extra) this time. The service here was very prompt. The burrito was fresh and tasty and the hot salsa gave it some kick. The burrito was not overfilled, so it wasn't messy to eat. On my next visit, I will very likely order the Dos Equis Fish Tacos! read more

The branch in Nashua is our favorite. The food is so delicious and fresh. We have not strayed from chicken burritos yet because we just LOVE them. The tortilla chips are a little tough for me. The Leche cake is to die for. Sometimes they get backed up and the line is out the door. We would go at an off time and pick up our food for later, but once we get it in the car, our mouths will start watering and we tear into it as soon as we get home! We love this place! read more

The good: The food is definitely fresh, great quality, good portion and well priced. Friendly staff. The bad: online orders are processed in between each in-person order using same staff. Which halts the progression of the in person line. I probably could have ordered online (while in line in the store) and got my food faster. We stumbled across this place a couple of years ago. It's become a regular for burritos. Most recently I placed an order online @ 7:50 and my pickup time was 8:25. I arrived to pick up my order only to find out it wasn't ready. There were at least 18 people in line waiting to place orders. Other customers standing around waiting for their online orders. After about 15 minutes I inquired about my order. It still wasn't complete. There didn't seem to be any sense of urgency or care for the customers waiting around. Customers were leaving without their order even though they paid online. The doors locked at 9 the last person in line received his order and then I got mine. And they messed it up. I ordered a burrito and they gave me a bowl. I had to wait again for them to correct it. I finally got out of there at 9:25, seriously 1.5 hours for a burrito. I'll never go back....... read more

Just moved in the area and wanted to check out the restaurants in the area. Their set up is similar to Chipotle's but California Burrito is way better and so delicious! Both times I've been there I've ordered the chicken burrito and a side of chips and queso. Both times everything was great! The staff are nice and so was the the manager. It made the place welcoming. They have to find a way to handle their in person and online orders. Having waited in line twice now, it is obvious to me that neither group is happy. People in line wait way too long and the online order folks wait almost as long when they arrive. Food is good but the experience is bad. The chicken was dry and they are not very sanitary. They used a gross rag to keep wiping the counter. Then their was a piece of chicken left out near the gross rag and it was out the whole time I was in line. They cut that up and put it in mine. The lady that was handling the tray full of raw chicken meat threw them on the grill, then with the same gloves on came over and rolled mine. I ate it against my better judgment and the chicken was extremely dry. I'll stick to chipolte for fast mexican. read more

I like to get food on my way to work, but no matter how early you order it, they don't even start making it until I get there. It said it would be ready on 30 minutes.
