Great and convenient service! They came on the location and inspected a Porsche Macan I wanted to buy and left my mind at ease.

I don't live in Carlsbad, so this was all executed without my having to be there - Dennis interfaced with the car seller and took care of everything. He called me right after to give me a summary of how it all went, and by the end of the day I had a full 40-page report as well. It was every bit as thorough as you'd want it to be. In fact, when I went down later to complete the purchase, the seller commented on how thorough Dennis had been with his inspection - even lifting the car up (on site!) to inspect the undercarriage. He spent I believe nearly two hours on it, making sure I wasn't buying something that was gonna have the wheels fall off five miles from the dealer. I had been a little nervous in searching for inspectors because most of the inspection companies I saw have iffy online reviews, and their websites have FAQs where they explain why their inspectors *don't* need to be certified mechanics. It's like, no, dude, I kind of wouldn't mind an inspector who knows what he's doing, thank you very much. But Dennis is the real deal, a certified, experienced mechanic with a deep resume, and the proof was in just how meticulous and perceptive he was with his work. He even spotted a paint touch-up job that was so well done I'd missed it when I had looked over the car earlier. I found Dennis to be professional, courteous, and punctual. Zero hassle. I would use his services again without hesitation if the need arose. (Worth noting also that his company isn't one of the ones that kicks back a discount for a 5-star review - his reviews are legitimately earned.)

His reasoning for cancelling was he did not want to take my money knowing he can't beat the at fault insurances 2,000 dollar offer because my vehicle is a salvage title and 500,000 miles. I told him I found receipts of a replaced rac and pinion, master cylinder, engine, and leather seats and he said he would not take that into consideration in my appraisal report and still cannot do more than $2,000 car value on my vehicle report . Again, his reasoning is that it's salvage and 500,000 miles. I told him there's more that makes up the value of a vehicle than just salvage title and mileage , and he said maybe I can show a judge my receipts and see what they think. What??????????? He wants me to present my 9,000 dollars worth of receipts to a judge who is not an appraiser and have a judge decide what he or she thinks is the value of my car and if they can give me a higher value than 2,000. He's supposedly this top notch appraiser who GIVES TESTIMONY IN COURT UNDER OATH and he doesn't think a replaced engine with lower miles, leather seats , upgraded rac and pinion upgraded master cylinder, upgraded springs , new alternator, new battery, new starter new brakes will make a cars value go up?????????? He's a moron I'm glad he never did my report . He also was telling me he found a comparable of my vehicle , in which the ad said "mechanics special" with a salvage title. He's a fucking moron, he wants to compare my highly maintained vehicle with every single part replaced on it with a car that's not running and has a bunch of maintenance issues . He's an appraiser and only looks at comparables with title type and mileage , and won't take your receipts into consideration on upgrades and maintenance

His attention to detail truly saved me from making some costly mistakes. Peter was very responsive and even called me right after each inspection to explain the car's condition in detail. Thanks to him, I finally found a car that passed inspection and gave me peace of mind. Paying for a pre-purchase inspection before buying a used car should be nonnegotiable for everyone. I highly recommend Car Saints -- their service is 100% worth it.

I placed an order on their website for a pre-purchase inspection and they were able to come out to meet the seller of the vehicle the next day. After the inspection, the inspector gave me a call with his findings and overall impression of the vehicle . The day after the inspection, a written report and a numerous inspection photos were available on the order page of their website. The written report specifically covered the following areas: Road Test, Engine & Mechanical, Suspension & Undercarriage, Tires & Brakes, Exterior & Body Condition. The level of detail in the report and the number of photos provided was satisfactory. Overall, it was a good overall experience and I'm happy with the service provided and with the vehicle I purchased. Why did I not give a full five stars? First, I believe a whining transmission noise they noted in their report was misdiagnosed. It seems to have been caused by the car's AC compressor that progressively whined louder before eventually failing during the fifth drive after purchase. Second, the report indicated that the transmission was leak free but I've found the slightest pooling of transmission fluid in my garage since the first day I purchased the car. Lastly, minor details seemed to be missed like missing roof weather strips/mouldings, a detached fog lamp, and sanding/repair work done on the rear bumper and rear fenders. If they had the means to diagnose the whining noise further and offered that as an add-on package, I probably would have availed and subsequently provided a higher rating.
