They have been taking care of my dad, who has Parkinson's, and the level of care and compassion they provide is truly exceptional. Every caregiver we've interacted with has been professional, kind, and genuinely caring--not just doing a job, but forming a real connection with my dad. It gives our family such peace of mind knowing he's in such good hands. One of the biggest reliefs for us has been how they handle the billing process with CalPERS Long Term Care Insurance. They direct bill the insurance company, which means we don't have to worry about being the middle person or dealing with the stress of reimbursements. That alone has saved us so much time and energy. They also went out of their way and helped my mom in an emergency situation. They also are very quick and accommodating when last minute care is needed. California Caregivers helped care for my mom when we were in a serious pinch. John came through quickly with understanding our needs (even coming out to meet them) and quickly finding caregivers that made my mom feel comfortable, and allowed me to know she was safe, day and night. I have used California CareGivers for the past five years and I cannot say enough wonderful things about their company, the owners, and their staff. My husband was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2010 and when the time came to hire caregivers to assist me at home with his needs, I contacted Inna and Daniel, the owners of the company. I worked closely with Inna to ensure I got the care I needed and I was/am so impressed with her kindness, professionalism, and her knowledge. She truly cares for her clients and their families to make sure their needs are met. My husband has progressed to 24/7 care at home and we have four of their caregivers that are great. They are compassionate and caring. My Dad came to live with us while on Hospice four years ago before he passed. Again, I needed 24/7 care for him and Inna made sure I had the perfect caregiver. I still remember Anna and how she was so sweet and caring to my Dad in his final days. My Mom moved in with us after his passing and she just turned 93-years-old. Both she and my husband have a some dementia. Again, Inna's staff provide care in the evening for my Mom so I can get a restful night's sleep knowing she is well taken care of. Both my husband and Mom like our caregivers and appreciate all they do for them which includes bathing, dressing, feeding, medications, exercising, taking them to appointments or outdoors, and companionship. They have become part of our family and I have complete trust in them and I never worry when I leave the house. 2 Reasons this company receives a !-Star from me. 1. Yelp does not allow me to put 0-Stars. 2. We received a couple of caregivers that were decent but one of the caregivers was lazy, and had the audacity to ask other household members who lived in the house to help her assigned care giving duties. What do we pay you for if you need to ask your own client for help? This company claims on their website that they have expertise in Dementia patients, but then we were advised that due to our grandmother's dementia and fall risk, that she would cause employee harm. The caregiver that was sent, left my grandmother in her adult depends overnight without change, no shower was given, and items in the household became lost. FYI UPDATE:we "declined " the tools of use because we ALREADY owned a power lift recliner, toilet high seat with handle bars, a shower seat with handle care set. Along with a walker and wheelchair. There were other amenities that were given AND stated that the caregivers needed for their shift to assist in the care. To state we "declined" and that was reason to just leave due to both parties being at risk for safety was untrue. All resources and tools were given and excuses cannot be taken back. read more

I truly wish I had the experience that you all have! I'm glad to hear that the integrity and honesty of this company has improved. I had a very unpleasant experience with them during the two years they provided care to my mother. Their bookkeeping and billing was very concerning. This resulted in over billing and incomprehensible statements with no attempt on the owners behalf to reconcile their errors. The owners and some of their office staff actually insulted me at times, taking personal aim to coerce me into payment for inexplicable charges. It took intervention from a third party to finally resolve the issue. I know the experience we had was not isolated, as they lost contracts over the same issue with multiple aging agencies who contract home care. It sounds like they have developed new systems to prevent this from reoccurring, which is good. We did very much enjoy one of the caregivers that took care of my mother for almost the entire time we used the company. This was the only reason I didn't stop care with them earlier. I would never recommend them to care for a loved one due to our experience, but hopefully they made changes to rectify the issues (I would just read your bills carefully). read more

I can not say enough good things about this company! My dad was at the end of life, and hospice, while wonderful, wasn't there to help on the daily. We saw the wonderful Yelp reviews on this business and called for an appt. We needed someone to help beginning as soon as possible, so Enna and Joe made the effort to come that day to meet with us and had Anna ready to begin that evening. I was staying with my dad, so this added support and company was terrific. Anna's experience in caregiving taught me many things to help keep my dad comfortable, and allowed her to catch a health situation that could have ended badly had she not had the knowledge to share. We also had Anne and April as caregivers and they were both delightful, proactive and hardworking. They all were so sweet to my dad, compassionate and warm. Just what I needed to help him make it through that last part of his life with dignity. The office also called daily to check on how things were going and the scheduler called to update who was coming to care. We were fortunate to have repeat caregivers, which was wonderful, though everyone needs days off, and I'm sure the others would be of equal caliber. Today is one year to the date of my Mom's passing. As I celebrate her life, and reflect on the deterioration of her body and mental condition, I'm greatly comforted that she received the best of care in her home. I don't know what I would have done without Inna's caring heart and expertise. From the moment Mom was in the emergency, to the day before she took her last breath Inna was guiding me. Even though Mom's body was deteriorating, Inna scooped her in her arms, and hugged her. Mom smiled in appreciation. Yes, the caregivers are professional, but they went beyond the expectations of their job, and gave their hearts. All of the caregivers I had the blessing of getting to know through Mom were there because they love what they do, and they have only respect for Inna and Danial who care about their employees welfare way more than their pocketbooks. I've been receiving respite care from California CareGivers for several months now. Today I decided to write a review because this is the third time they've done a complete NO-Show without informing me prior to the scheduled time. Actually, I wouldn't have been informed at all if it were not for me calling in and checking to see the ETA of the caregiver. I've grown accustom to the caregivers being late, they have been 5 to 45 minutes late the majority of the scheduled days. The caregivers have been wonderful when they do come but the scheduling staff is very unprofessional and insensitive. The staff has informed me because I don't pay out of pocket my need for respite care is a lesser priority than their other clients. I provide 24 hour care for my grandmother with Alzheimer's and respite care provides a much needed emotional relief; as well as time needed for personal errands. Thanks to today's NO-Show I missed an important appointment. read more
