Needed AC fixed. This outfit works with home warranty company (HWC). They came out three times and replaced fan motor and then circuit board. Still didn't work. They then never returned calls or texts to myself nor the HWC. When I called from a different number the repairman finally answered and said we would have to call someone else because the job was too advanced for them. The (HWC) said they fired CA comfort for repeatedly not following up with people. The next guy the HWC sent out found all the new connections made to install circuit board were not taped or wire nutted, just left bare and it was causing a short that would not allow the system to work. Fire risk left in my attack due to careless, shoddy work. The new company also said the gas was turned off to the heater. He noted the prior repair job done by CA ComfoRT had put in aftermarket parts that didn't allow the unit to be properly sealed back up. They would not touch it or turn gas back on because they said it was a high fire risk now with the unit left unsealed. The company still refuses to answer any correspondence. Stay away from this outfit. Small claims being filed so I can get reimbursed for having all their work done right with correct parts. read more

California Comfort is a Life Saver. Chris is awesome, I highly recommend using this company, very honest and professional. One of my A/C units decided to stop blowing cold air at the hottest time this summer. I contacted Chris and he was not able to make it that late in the evening, (plus it would have been too hot inside my attic for anyone to be hanging out in). However, Chris scheduled me for the next morning, he then called and asked if he could arrive earlier to avoid all the morning school traffic. He arrived as promised, troubleshot my system and and replaced the need part. This guy is Awesome and a very genuine nice person on top of that. Chris was an absolute blessing for my family and myself. My heater in my house stopped working and it was freezing cold! Chris was referred to me so we called him and he came over within 10 minutes of the phone call. He checked everything out and made sure everything was running safely and properly. I have called his company at 951 784-4444 at least 3 times a week to set up appointment for my service. Their has been NO response since I started calling on May 17, 2022, and today is July 12, 2022. Our air conditioner stopped working yesterday in the middle of this big heat wave (115 degrees) in the inland empire. I was given Chris' name by a mutual friend at church, and he came out first thing this morning to help us. It was in the 90's inside our house at this point, so we were very grateful he was willing to come out so quickly, AND on a holiday to check it out. He quickly determined that there was nothing wrong with our a/c unit, just a problem with a monitoring unit that was installed by Edison. Even though we had opted out of participation in the cycling program, the electric company had turned off our unit remotely because of the strain on the power grid. Chris was honest with us, said we did t need any repairs done, washed off the outside a/c unit, and was on his way within a few minutes. Our A/C went out and Chris was able to get us fixed up quickly. It was during the first week of Aug 2017 and the hot humid weather was quickly warming our house up to 88 to 90 degrees. He went above and beyond but after several attempts at various things he ended up having to come out...which he did asap. This is an absolute horrible heating and air company. You'd be better off taking your business elsewhere. The company is owned and operated by a former Riverside fire captain by the name of Chris Williams. Chris was very courteous and his pricing appeared to be fair. Given his previous profession, I had complete confidence in his work. I've never been more disappointed. After he gave me the price of all the work that he was to do, i came home to find out only half the work was done yet he charged me full price anyway. He was able to articulate a pretty solid answer why he was able to justify the cost and given our relationship, I went along with it. Then upon further inspection a couple months down the road, I noticed that some of the work that he claimed he did did not get done or get done properly. I called Chris multiple times and left multiple messages with my concerns and all have gone unanswered. I can appreciate if something is out of warranty, but at least pick up the phone and tell me that, you don't have to ignore me. Heating and air companies are a dime a dozen and this is one you don't need to spend a dime on. read more

Highly recommended! Unbelievably quick response time, great service, and high treatment of customers! Great price too! We were kind of in a crisis ... our bottom floor A/C unit stopped working on a Friday night, and Saturday morning we were stressing because the forecast was for a very hot 106-108 degrees high in mid-August of Riverside. We had a full house of kids and pets all weekend and had just been through a rough week (our house had been robbed) and the last thing we needed was to be miserable in our house with no A/C. We were calling around to find an HVAC company that would either at least answer their phone on a Saturday (!), and then be able to actually do a service call same day! Chris actually answered the call immediately, revealed he was actually in between calls and within a 5 mile radius "perfect timing" and offered to come over immediately. I think it took him 5 minutes to arrive. Can I say "bitchin"? He was kind, professional, and very helpful and quickly resolved our A/C problem at a very reasonable price. He even called us about 1 hour later to follow-up to make sure everything was working great. Note other companies today had quoted us a minimum charge of $200-$600 for a recharge, depending on the freon. Chris actually charged us a much lower service charge fee and it turned out the A/C did not have to be recharged after all. Use this company when you need help with your heating and air conditioning system ... definitely! read more

I used Chris at Cal-Comfort to service two AC units at my home in 2014. My business had used him for a large addition we built for a tenant. Chris was very knowledgeable and fixed my problem right away. I had two capacitors out on my A/C units. He had one capacitor on his truck that was the correct size and a second one that was smaller but he said would work fine. It worked for about one week and went out again. I called him to let him know and he said he would get out and replace it. He never did and since it was end of season I figured we would hook up in the spring. After several promises to come out last fall (he never showed, always an excuse) it got cold and I had forgotten about it. Now that summer is here again he won't return any of my calls to either his cell or his office. I would never use him again. If you don't stand behind your work you are not an upright businessman. i saw a quote the other day that said "integrity is doing the right think when no one is watching". If you want someone with integrity I certainly wouldn't use Cal-Comfort. read more
