Update: Darren and team came out and found the problem. Connection needed to be welded and air conditioner is working. They do honor the warranty of their work and I appreciate that. Ok an update to my excellent review. We had to call out a technician 5 days after the install to fix a leak and put more refrigerant in the new unit. It's now 3 days later and it's acting the same...running all the time and not cooling... so I'll call again. I called Hush Air Heating and Conditioning to clean my mini split because of their high rating. I was quoted $89, which seemed reasonable, so I scheduled the appointment. When the HVAC technician arrived, I specifically asked if I needed to move anything to keep the area from getting dirty because I noticed he had not put any plastic or protective covering down. He told me no. After he finished, I walked him out and thought everything was fine. When I went back into the room, I found a wet dirt stain on my expensive bed frame. This is exactly what I was trying to avoid, which is why I asked in the first place. It is incredibly frustrating that I was reassured there would be no issue, only to end up with damage to my furniture because proper care was not taken. This was careless, unprofessional, and completely avoidable. EDIT: After posting this review, Hush Air Heating and Conditioning responded right away and let me know they wanted to make things right; and they absolutely did. This business truly cares about its clients and about standing behind their work. They took my concerns seriously, acted quickly, and promptly sent a cleaning company to take care of the dirty spot on my bed frame. I couldn't be happier. With temperatures running in triple digits, I was very frustrated when my a/c stopped cooling. I called Hush and scheduled an appointment. After a couple of hours with the a/c off, it started working again, so I canceled the appointment. But the following week the a/c was freezing up every afternoon. When I called Hush again, the young lady who took my call was friendly, professional, and efficient. In minutes I had a service call scheduled. The next day the tech, Edgar Lopez, called to say he was done with his previous appointment a little early and could he come sooner. He arrived promptly, and went right to work. He was very professional and thorough, checking temperatures, air flow, fluid pressures, compressor temperature, and more. It turned out to be primarily a problem with the compressor coils being clogged with a thick layer of dirt! For an $89 service call, my a/c is back to working great. There has been absolutely no issues with it since. In fact, on the hottest days it wasn't quite up to keeping the house at the set temperature ... it would slowly creep up. Now, it's holding cool all day. I'm actually a little embarrassed. My background is as a technician, and I've worked on a wide variety of equipment ... electronics, x-ray, computer, industrial controls, etc. But as I told Edgar ... a/c is NOT my area of expertise, so I called someone who is a pro at it. It was a very good decision. This also points out that I should have had routine maintenance done before my a/c began having problems. This could have all been avoided. When I call a service provider out to my house, I want honesty, competency, professionalism, and punctuality. Hush Air delivered on all accounts. My AC went out at 9 o'clock at night. The next morning , I contacted Hush via Yelp, within 15 minutes I had an appointment for 2 o'clock that day. Just after 1PM, I got a call from Brian who said they were running ahead and asked if it would be OK if they came by early. They arrived 10 minutes later. They were courteous and professional. They explained everything they were doing and showed me pictures of what they were seeing and repairing. They quickly and efficiently fixed the problem for the quoted price. Brian and Edgar did a great job and unlike other AC companies I've used, they did not try to upsell me on anything. They just did their job quickly and professionally. Nothing like coming home from vacation to find your AC is down in mid-July in SoCal! My Ecobee screen was black. Called support and tried several things until they recommended calling my HVAC company. I have had service and repairs from Hush Air for many years, so gave them a call late Friday afternoon. Kim took my call and said, I did all the right things, but they may not be able to get someone out to my house until Monday (understandably), but she would try. In a matter of minutes, she called me back a routed Bryan to come over within the hour! Bryan did his best but my ~20 year old gas FAU was fried. Considering my AC Compressor was as old, it was suggested I replace them together. I agreed, avoiding yet another failure. I again spoke to Kim as well as Darren (owners) about what would be best for me. At this point it was Friday evening and Darren patiently took the time to answer my questions and asked some of his own to help understand my needs to make recommendations. He literally spent an hour on the phone with me! In the end we agreed on a solution. He said he would get all the equipment by Monday and have it installed on Tuesday. This in itself was a great stress relief and luckily temps stayed in the 80's through Tuesday. We talked about the Trane 14 Singe Speed, 17 Multi-Speed & 18 Variable Speed packages with a Heat Pump, FAU and Smart Thermostat. I landed on the 17, however Darren gave me a Hush Rebate, found me a California Rebate and City Rebate besides giving me a very reasonable cost for all the equipment, install and even filled out the paperwork for the City Rebate and setup the Permit Inspection, thus I ultimately opted for the Trane 18 Variable Speed. Oh, also included was a 10 year warranty and 2 years of service. Take away here, Kim and Darren are very knowledgeable and wanted nothing but to provide me with information and options to ultimately make the right decision for our home. Again, all decided by Friday evening! Very Impressed. On Tuesday Morning his team (Cash, Henry & Julian) arrived promptly, were very hard workers, friendly, professional, clean and did not hesitate to help me understand how to work the system. Considering the effort at hand, I was unsure if this could be completed by days end but again was pleasantly surprised it was completed with plenty of daylight left on Tuesday. They also checked my ducts in the attic and walked me through setting up the Trane UX360 Thermostat and the Trane Home App on my iPhone! These guys were great! Now, for the results ... I have a two-story house and even with my old AC Compressor (which was an upgrade to the original) it never really made a difference upstairs. This whisper quiet Trane 18 is great in several ways. One, it keeps the temperature within 0.5 a degree of your set point. Two, my upstairs though logically is slightly warmer then downstairs, has never seen cool air come out of the vents like it does now. Third, never having a heat pump I did not realize I could be running my AC 16 hours a day and end up with lower energy bills due to the variable speed and heat pump. Can't wait to see my future bills this summer. The Trane Smart Thermostat also has more features than my old Ecobee had. I understand technology does improve over time but may times they do not live up to expectations. My initial opinion is EVERYONE at Hush Air has always treated me fairly, are committed, do great work, and now provide great products. I would not hesitate to recommend them to family or friends. Our condenser coil finally gave up the ghost (after 17 years in service). Brian came out to diagnose and found the leak, topped us off to get us a couple of weeks of cooling, and got us on the calendar for a unit replacement. I wanted to add an update about our ongoing experience with Hush Air. Hush Air has been an amazing company over the year. We bought the unit from them and they come out every year to do a check up on our unit and keep it running good. Unfortunately today, at the start of a heat wave, our AC went out.
