I called Tim after my brother's great experience with him. My "easy" job ended up being a slight pain in the ass because the 32" TV i got had an unusual mounting set up on the back that did not match perfectly with the mount I purchased separately. I also wanted it in a very tight corner of my bedroom between a doorway and a window. Tim made it work, and fit it perfectly. As many others have commented, Tim is the best at what he does. Extremely professional, on time, clean work, top quality products and electrical/wiring, nothing is done cheaply or sloppy. He wall mounted a 55" LCD in my living room, with a full motion mount and seamless construction, including relocating all the cable and electrical outlets behind the equipment so you see no wires, including the cable box and stereo receiver, which are mounted on a double glass shelf from the TV mount. Nothing touches the floor but the subwoofer. Amazing work and craftsmanship. 5 star work all the way, I can't wait to have him come back and do my home office TV as soon as possible. Their perfect reviews are well justified. I just had Tim install my TV over the fireplace with surround sound and he also ran security camera lines. Due to some weird construction in my house, the job took longer than he thought but he didn't charge me more for it, which I am very grateful for. The work was very neat and precise and everything looks and works perfectly. He really took the time and care to make sure the finish work was impeccable. Before making any holes in the drywall, he was careful to ask us where we wanted the TV and speakers placed and checked in as needed throughout the process. After carefully evaluating several local San Diego Companies to install two TV's on wall mounts, one over a fireplace and the second, which was a standard wall installation, I chose CCI to perform the work. I also wanted sound bars I had purchased installed along with the TV's. My final decision in choosing CCI was based on several factors, the excellent reviews that I saw posted on Yelp and "Service Magic", the fact that owner Tim is licensed, insured and the fact that Tim always returned my telephone calls. Yesterday Tim, the owner, performed the installation work which was completed to my total satisfaction. Tim Showed up on the agreed upon installation date with a helper, Pedro. All work was performed very professionally. He placed down mats to protect my floors and furniture. All drilling was instantly followed by careful vacuuming around the areas drilled and all packaging was carefully boxed up. Any cut outs in the walls, mantel, etc. were also promptly patched. Before completing the work on each TV, Tim tested all of the TV's and sound bar features to ensure they were functioning properly. Tim also has many years experience performing TV and sound system installations. While maybe not the cheapest in town, I felt Tim's pricing was fair and competitive compared to other quotes I received. I also believe you get what you pay for and felt I got excellent service for the final cost since he was able to perform all work, including any electric work. I understand other companies may require you hire an electrician for such additional work. This is something you need to check out and take into account when choosing someone to perform similar work. I was originally going to use the Geek Squad from Best Buy to mount my TV and soundbar but they didn't tell me until they were actually at my place that if I didn't want the power cords showing, I'd have to hire an electrician (even though the Best Buy salesperson assured me at least 3 times that they could do everything and NO wires or cords would be showing...but I'll save that for a Best Buy review...). Tim and Andy were very easy to work with, extremely polite, professional, and went above and beyond their installation of our TV. We had a custom entertainment center built with specifications included for the TV. The carpenter built the unit with only 1/16" on each side of the TV and 1/8" on the top and bottom to spare for installation of the TV in the unit. Measurement for the mounting bracket and TV installation had very little room for error and they did an outstanding job in getting it done. They even mounted the power strip for easy access. The mounting bracket for the TV was one which they encountered problems with in the past, so they added more support in the center of the bracket and resolved their concern over the lack of strength in the bracket. CCI did a great job mounting my 42" plasma in the bedroom. Tim was very professional and polite. He gave me two courtesy calls before showing up in the afternoon to let me know his status of arrival. It took around 2 hours to mount the TV, and he cleaned up before and after the job. He offered suggestions/advice and was very knowledgeable. Tim was great. He was patient and informative. I had a idea to demo some shelve built ins in my living room and put a TV and sound bar there and then make doors to cover it up when not in use. He came and consulted with me first and told me what could be down. He offered a cabinet guy but I had one to use. He put up with me emailing hime several times asking questions about TV's and such. My cabinet guy finally got some free time and Tim made time to show up on demo day to advise on final construct. We finished the build and he came in ahead of planned schedule and did the install. Low profile, fully articulating mount. All the equipment is in a cabinet on other side of house off kitchen. Good crawl space allowed to easily run wires. It took a little longer than expected but Tim did not stop until he finished. All the wires were cinched clean and neat. Looks and works great. A couple days later the IR seemed for remote seemed difficult to work. It's kinda a bright room. He got right back to me and we talked about some options. Tim installed our surround sound and wifi about 8 months ago. He and his partner were super nice and did a good job, and we were really happy. There were some unfinished things that we all agreed we would put off until we had experienced the sounds system for a few months (and also we were having a baby). Tim promised to follow up with us. Since then, we have been calling, emailing and trying to contact him or anyone at CSI for months, and NOTHING. After spending over $6000 for the home theater and wifi setup, you'd think he would be eager to offer us good service, but he just disappeared. We even wondered if he is OK...we thought surely someone at the company would follow up. But no. So he gets good marks initially but for us, it is all about the service and being available to stand behind his work, and going dark on us just does not cut it. At the last minute I called CCI and Tim met me to review the project. I called California Custom Installation on Tuesday, Oct 27, and explained or tried to explain to Tim the problem I was having with my surround sound system. Having an older home in the Kensington area always makes things a little more difficult. Long story short, he and his assistant were at my house the following afternoon, problem was quickly diagnosed and now everything is back up and working for an extremely fair price.
