The unsightly wireless router is hidden in a removable panel in my bedroom closet, and it's enabled me to do proper cable management behind my living room TV console. I also have a studio / in-law unit part of my house that I rent on Airbnb, and "super fast internet" is consistently mentioned in my reviews. It's all thanks to Javier. Before I got my home wired, that room was so far from the router I almost couldn't even setup the Nest x Yale door lock. Javier was truly a pleasure to work with. His company handled plan check and permitting with the City of IB and had a permit in hand rather quickly. He installed 16 panels on my home in a day. His crew cleaned up and hauled away everything. SDG&E commissioned the system within 7 working days. Now my electric bill has been wiped out and produces in excess so I have room for growth and SDGE rate hikes and time of use changes. I had put off installing solar panels on my home for years because of the hassle dealing with solar companies and their salesman. That was a lot of song-and-dance that I was tired of. I also dreaded going through the permitting process. With Javier, I didn't have to deal with any of that. He handled the plan check and permitting and guided me through the panel selection and the array locations on the roof explaining how the panel locations maximize solar production. I have to tell you that with everyone at home I quickly realized how bad my home WiFi coverage was. Called Javier at Wiring Innovations on a Thursday night and he showed up Saturday morning for my estimate. I had originally planned on hard wiring Cat5 cables into my kids rooms so their on line schooling wouldn't be interrupted. After assessing my request he explained although it's completely possible to do this work I would have to get ready for holes to be cut in the walls but he had a simpler solution. 'Just get rid of my AT&T home internet and switch to Spectrum and by a home WiFi mesh system. This is the second review we've done for Wiring Innovations. The first was for a ceiling-mounted projector installation which came out great ... you can see pictures of it in the photo reel above. This review is for a slightly bigger project Javier and his crew completed at our home: a 29-panel, 9kW solar panel system and electrical panel upgrade. We initially obtained a number of bids from some of the more well-known solar companies in town. After learning that Wiring Innovations now does PV installations, we gave Javier a call, and he put together and quoted us an LG/Enphase system that was comparable to the other systems we were recommended, but at a much more attractive price. Furthermore, he was able to upgrade our aging, and somewhat dangerous, 70's-era Zinsco panel without having to replace the service wire from the handhole (something which would've required demolishing our hardscaping, potentially costing us thousands more), and worked with the SDG&E Planning Dept. to get this done. Javier updated us at every milestone during the project and was quick to answer any questions that arose along the way. The actual installation of the solar panels took a day, and Javier and his crew were thorough and courteous. The system's been in operation for a few months now and has been problem-free. Javier also installed consumption transformers, allowing us to accurately gauge our usage against the amount the system's producing. On sunny days, which we are fortunately blessed with an abundance of here in San Diego, it consistently generates more than enough power to cover our family's needs. (In addition to all the standard electronic devices and gadgets, we also have central A/C and a hot tub.) Javier has done a bunch of work for me in the last couple of months. He ran CAT6 ethernet and cableTV coaxial cable to several rooms in my house that was all homerun to a central wiring closet. I also had him mount a couple of large televisions. This work also included running new electrical boxes directly behind the screens as well as wiring conduit that allowed me to hide all wiring. We had a large electrical project to do consisting of installing a bunch of exterior security cameras, burying home theater wiring in the walls, wall-mounting a TV (including a new power outlet and HDMI), running interior CAT6 ethernet for data jacks, and installing several motion-sensing floodlights. I really appreciated Javier's enthusiasm and dedication to getting my work done. We've struggled with contractors that fail to respond or took forever to complete things. Javier's initial estimate was done on immediately, on a weekend. When the work spilled over from Friday he was out there the next day, Saturday morning, finishing up. Javier and his team are simply amazing, excellent service and communication from first contact to wrapping up our project. I was looking to put a wired network throughout our 1920s house after holding off for many years. Old house with plaster and metal lath does not work well at all with wifi signals, I have been using powerline network adapters (basically using electric wire for ethernet) and never able to get close to the throughput we are paying for our internet (300mbps). I found Javier with his excellent reviews and requested a quote via Yelp, Javier called me end of that day and came to my house first thing the next morning for a walk through so he can give me an accurate quote. We decided on a cat 6 ethernet network with outlet in every room in the house. He was extremely helpful and knowledgable, and great with follow up and he was able to scheduled to work on my project the following week. He and his crew showed up on time and they worked diligently, they were very fast and efficient from deciding where to put all the network drops, to pulling the wires our very tight crawlspace, to testing all the connections and clean up. Javier and his team came over on time on a Sunday this past summer. They installed three outlets in our guest bathroom and an extra outlet in the master bath in about five hours (including patching up the walls after they were done). They even installed an outlet in one of the bathroom cabinets, which is pretty sweet. Initially, I bought the Costco tv mounts for sale which was an epic fail. It sat almost a foot out from the wall and barely held the TV up. I'm writing another review for this company because once again, I am wowed by their customer service, professionalism, and work ethic. A couple of years ago, my husband and I cut the cable cord, and while we don't miss it and the big cable bills, we DID want to be able to get local news. So we bought a great TV antenna, and it has been propped up in our living room for the last two months, while we tried to figure out where to install it. We should have just called Wiring Innovations immediately after setting up the antenna and realizing it was a keeper! Javier was very happy to swing by our home one afternoon, assess the situation, and let me know what our options were for placement. Two days later, he was on the job, and we now have beautiful local reception with no awkward wires hanging around. As always, Javier left the work area cleaner than when he arrived, and I cannot begin to tell you how nice it looks and how WONDERFUL it is to have local programming again. My wife and I wanted Music in our home so we decided to have a 5.1 surround sound system installed in our family room as well as additional speakers in our living and dining room. We also needed two room fan mounting locations moved and new fans put in. I contacted Javier with Wiring Innovations to have him give us a quote. He is by far a cut above the rest. This review is overdue - Javier is great and stands behind his work. Javier installed our flat-screen TV and soundbar above the fireplace. He installed two HDMI cables to come out of the wall. After a few days, I noticed that the signal from the second HDMI cable was cutting in and out. It took me several weeks before I reached out to Javier to tell him about it, but he was very responsive. Javier came by, troubleshooted it, and replaced the second HDMI cable and installed a third one for free. This involved him cutting into the wall again and having his drywall guy come by and patch it up, so it's not a simple fix. I would highly recommend him. read more
