I brought a project car in that was absolutely caked in oil, at least 1/4" thick in some areas. These guys pressure washed down the underneath and the engine bay with hot water and chemicals. Let me start my review by saying that I have an OLD 2003 BMW 525I that has been everywhere from mechanic shops to body shops etc...and in 20 years the engine and under the car has never been steam washed and cleaned.. After careful observation, and asking around and google searching... I still didn't and couldn't find a nice detailing shop that takes pride in what they do. My car was being repaired at Pep Boys back in 12/2024 and their manager by the name of V told us about California Detail Shop and raved about the owner Simon and the shop. So with that being said, my son and I took my OLD BMW on 2/6/25 to CDS and got not only a good, pleasant welcome from Simon, but they treated us and my car like their own. Luis, one of his employees was working, washing my engine with so much pride and we just had to tip the hard working guy who had a nice smile, and a kind heart. He deserved a good tip and got what Luis deserved. Simon was very keen, knew his work well and treated us like he had known us for years. Which my son and I very much appreciated. My car came out within 40 minutes after taking a nice, hot bath:-)) pristine clean and felt like I bought the car from the dealer. Went here because my cat peed on our passenger seat and we tried everything to get it out. Called here and spoke with Simon, he was extremely helpful and thorough with how they treat these things. Told me he couldn't guarantee he could get the smell out (cat pee is notoriously tough to get out, I've learned) but was upfront about it all. He was honest with the services and pricing which I appreciated. And by the time I got home and let the car air out the smell was actually gone! The team here did an amazing job on my SUV. Although generally well maintained, my daily driver hadn't been washed in over six months and hadn't been detailed longer than that. Overall good. Car looked great when I picked it up, but after going home and checking further, they definitely missed a few spots. Inside of glove box was dusty. All holders near door panels were not fully clean. Area near rear windshield was dusty as well. I'll attach a picture of the wipe I used to clean the holders near the door panels. The engine and undercarriage wash wasn't what I expected. In the videos I saw, they doused the undercarriage and engine with heavy foam and degreaser. However, when they did mine, they simply used a spray bottle and a high-pressure hose. I asked if they could spray a few more areas after I inspected the vehicle, but overall, it wasn't a good job. I might give them a second shot I'm not sure yet. read more

I came in to remove some haze from my paint after I tried buffing it myself. I arrived without an appointment at 9am, and Simon, the mama gamer, was able to take me right away. I brought in my car to have the paint corrected. I recently acquired my black car from the dealership and they had attempted to correct the paint, but made it worse. Simon and his team at California Detail Shop did a great job! He even provided tips of how to keep my car in great condition and show me best wash practices to keep in top shape. We brought my daughter's 2010 Subaru Outback in for complete detailing. We gave short notice on Sunday evening. Simon texted back early Monday morning and agreed to do it right away. We returned Monday afternoon to the big reveal. The car was under a car cover. When Simon removed the cover, we were amazed. It almost looked brand new! They also restored the headlight lens. I took my 2011 Mercedes E63 AMG here today for a complete detail. I had the engine and under my car washed as well. I came back few hours later and my car looked amazing. It looked like I just took of out of the dealer. Great work guys!!! On top of the great work, the staff is welcoming and great. I had a appointment for 7:30 am and over slept. Simon provided great customer service from the get go. Initially, I communicated with him via Yelp! messenger and he replied promptly with a great quote just for the exterior. He asked that I come to his shop to get a better estimate for the long scratch on my door panels. He gave me a quote above my budget but it included cleaning inside as well. My car hasn't had a good detail cleaning since 2014 so I made an appointment to come back in three days. I went home and did my due diligence to see if he really gave me a good price. It turns out that his price was below other competitors by 20-49% since my car was a SUV. My auto detailing included the following. Inside: vacuum, shampoo carpet & floor mats, clean trunk and and wipe down everything. Outside: wash with hot water, clay bar, polish, wax, steam clean engine, polish head lights and wet sanding (last three are usually extras). The whole process took about 5.5 hours. My 2007 CRV looks shiny, glossy and almost like new. He took me around the car to inspect it and to wipe down any missed spots. I didn't tell or even mentioned to him that I wanted my headlights polish because I didn't want to spend any more money. Much to my surprise, he went out of his way to polish them free and they look amazing! He instructed me to make sure to air out the wet floor mats or the mildew smell will build up in the car. Also, the wax lasts about 3-5 months. It's the cherry on top! I'm really happy when I look at my car now. Also, he made sure that I was happy before I left the lot. I said if you reduced the price then I will be really happy. He didn't hesitate and gave me the price I wanted. Well, the discount he gave me, I gave back in tip which came as a surprise to him. This is a humble and eager to satisfy you kind of guy. It is rare to find this kind of great customer service that makes sure you are completely happy. Requested a quote from several shops and Simon was one of the first to reply through Yelp Quote feature. He was honest and didn't try to oversell/over promise. Able to see me for inspection same day. I took my car in and was greeted by Simon. We looked at the car together, and he explained everything they would do to fix it. Made sure not to guarantee that all scratches would be removed, because they couldn't see how it looked under the damage. I asked if they could fix on the spot, Simon explained they were behind and didn't think he could squeeze me in. I was reluctant to make an appointment due to my schedule and urgency to remedy the issue asap, but agreed to return on Saturday at 8:30am. Simon brought over and introduced me to his Master Polisher, who also looked over my car. Simon explained I was going to come in on Saturday, but his Master Polisher said he could take care of it right then. I handed over my keys and Simon escorted me to the office to wait. He offered me coffee, water, and Gatorade! I had my own water, but appreciated the options. About 30 minutes later, Simon came in grinning and asked if I was ready to see my car. Came out and instantly could see how great a job they did. I inspected it closely, and it was practically flawless. There was more work done on the rim of wheel, which also had blue paint as well as a part of the bumper. Everything looked great, much better than I expected. I thanked and shook the Master Polisher's hand (I forget his name :( ) and returned to the office with Simon to pay the agreed upon price. Overall, very happy with entire experience. Simon and his team are pleasant and professional! I'll certainly be back for a full detail in the future. Also, Simon was so kind as to send me the before and after pictures for this review, talk about excellent customer service! I dropped off my car at 7:30 and I picked it up at 2. There were many cars on the lot, but they managed to fulfill their predicted pick up time. When I went to pick up my car, it was underneath a sun shade cover which was nice. I had the interior and exterior detail package along with the headlights restoration. There were little spots on the exterior that were missed, but it looked really nice overall. The interior was basically spotless and they dressed the plastics and leathers, giving life once again to the interior of a 14 year old car. I'm not sure if trunk cleaning was part of the package, but it seemed as if they missed it completely as there were still stains and dust present. As for the headlights, I'm not sure what is included in the "headlights restoration" but they still has a yellow tint and a bunch of scratches and one huge gash. Simon responds quickly and very accommodating. He gave me information about what to be done and didn't try to sell more service I don't need. Water spilled in the trunk of my car that left my car with a mildew smell. They did a full detailing, shampooed the carpets, used claybar on my very dirty and neglected exterior and cleaned up my engine and tires too. My car looks like I just got it from the dealership. The mildew smell is gone. My mats are still a little wet so he told me take it out to air dry when I get home so it won't smell funky. His price is a little cheaper than most auto detail places around and you get $10 discount if you check in on Yelp. I highly recommend this place.
