I feel really bad leaving a bad review for any business but I'm so extremely disappointed with our experience here. We brought our coffee maker in January (when it was still in warranty). We don't know what we don't know. Fast forward to almost April, and they still have it, and every time I call they say that they had to "order more parts and check if it works". Called today, no update. Has to check with someone else to see what's happening. It's just not how you should conduct business. Now I'm left with a $2,000 coffee maker at this place, that still doesn't work, that I don't know what's wrong with it, and even if it did work, I'm on the hook for $300+? Without even having "approved" a quote/estimate from them? Again, just horrible way of conducting business. So disappointing. I'm just at a loss and giving up honestly. Great customer service and friendly too. When we went to pick up our DeLonghi coffee machine that needed repair, Ron tested it to make sure it was working well. Unfortunately, it wasn't so he diagnosed the problem (another part needed replacing) and since we were local, he asked if we could come pick up the following day. When we came the next day, Ron was so thorough checking, re-checking and re-checking again after seeing another small issue. He kept testing until it was to all of our satisfaction and did not charge anything additional, even though they had to replace another part that wasn't on the estimate. HIghly recommend! read more

My Kitchenaid mixer was making some noises so I searched to find a place to have it serviced. It wasn't easy for find California Electrical Services online but I am so glad I did. My mixer was ready in less than a week and it fixed. He told me to have it serviced every 7-10 years. I hadn't had it serviced and it needed some parts and to be repacked in grease. It cost me $169, but worth any penny. It is a 35 year old mixer and should last forever if cared for properly. You should know that you have to pay the initial service fee up front - $69. To avoid an extra 3% fee, you need to pay with a check or with cash. I wouldn't hesitate to take any of my small household items to them for servicing. read more

Came here for warranty repair on my Krups coffee grinder, as they showed up on the website as an authorized service provider. Of course it starts working again as soon as they plug it in there. Regardless, the technician explained why that could have happened and gave me a replacement anyways in case there was still something wrong with my grinder. Very polite and easy warranty process as well. Will come back if I have issues with some other small appliance for sure. read more

Krups Coffee Machine Repair...paid for shipping to, then $500 + to have it repaired, and then paid return shipping to me. Shame on me for letting it sit in it's box for beyond the warranty period before checking to see if it was repaired properly. When I went to use it after "repair..." water gushing out of the machine everywhere. Not even close to operational. CES wouldn't honor anything about the warranty and wanted to charge me like it was the first time they'd seen the machine. Charge me for shipping to them, diagnosis fee, etc. My fault for not catching sooner...I own that...but this company wouldn't hear of working anything different than a new repair ticket. Bad business in my opinion. My next review is to Krups...they endorse these folks and I asked them for another way to have my machine repaired and have never returned my inquiries. Brutal. read more

I consider myself a fair person. Always benefit of the doubt. Second chances kinda guy. But when I feel I've been taken advantage I have to speak up for future customers. They are the only "certified" repair shop for Delonghi products in the Orange County region. I sent my Delonghi Perfecta back in December because of an error message. Ron, the owner, charged me $300 for the repair. They said parts had to be replaced but when I came to pick it up...error message was still on the screen. When I showed him the error message he simply reset it like I didn't notice. Come to find out it was a simple descale message. That was fine, it was holiday season I was okay to let it go. Last month I had a different error message. I sent it there and Fred helped me out and charged $30 to diagnose. I get a call a couple days later from Ron that it'll be another $350 to repair. That's $650 total if I went through with it. Now how can I trust that it'll be fine? Will I have to send it over for another reason in a couple months again? I'm sure other people with expensive espresso machines can afford this but I'm just an ICU nurse trying to stay awake for my patients...with a machine that was a hand-me-down from my cousin. Needless to say I picked it up and it's still broken. If you do plan to go here I recommend dealing with Fred and only Fred. read more

So thrilled to have found this business! My 20 year old KitchenAid Accolade mixer had an electric cord problem. Additionally if and when I could make it work, I couldn't necessarily change the speed. It was worth it to get fixed instead of buying a new one because they don't make mixers like this anymore. All parts are metal and it's a powerful watts. The repair persons here agreed it could be fixed and was worth fixing. And they fixed it in less than a week. I appreciate that they tell you how much it will cost before you make your decision. When my 10 year old KitchenAid mixer stopped working, I contacted KitchenAid, who gave me the names and numbers of the KitchenAid-approved locations where I could get it repaired. We took the mixer down to them, and despite saying they were a little behind, my mixer was fixed and a general tune-up done in a week's time! I have used California Electric Services on multiple occasions. I couldn't ask for better service. They are experts in their field. Very few people in Southern California can repair & restore DeLonghi coffees machines or any other machines for that matter. In fact they are a referred & certified Delonghi repair shop. I have a 15 year old ( very expensive at the time & much more today) DeLonghi that stopped working. Of course thinking I can fix it myself I made things worse. On top of that when UPS shipped it to California Electric Services, UPS broke off numerous pieces. I thought it was beyond repair. These folks not only fixed it perfectly, it now works as good as if IT was brand new. Besides being great Craftsman they are honest, sincere, kind and stand behind their work. They can fix almost anything/appliances that uses electric. :-) I would recommend California Electric Services to all in need if such repairs. Call them if you have any questions. They are AMAZING! They're very knowledgeable and knew what needed fixed right off the bat. They gave me a quote and told they would call me after they took a look at it. They called back and had it done when they said they would for what they quoted. Can't ask for anything more, would certainly take anything electronic that they work on back to them. For me it is a 120 mile round trip. When I called California Electric for information I was told approximately how much it would cost to get it repaired. I appreciate them for having the expertise and parts available to fix my mixer in less than an hour. However, I am very concerned that the cost of labor was over $100. read more

I had to find parts for a Ryobi power tool, and this was the closest spot I was pointed to. They're purely middlemen. Normally they order parts from a supplier or distributor, and then pass things onto you. I should've just shopped online for my stuff because they pass the $10 shipping costs on a $2 part to me anyways. Good deal? Not. I ordered 3 parts, 2 of them came in a reasonable amount of time, and the last one has been backordered for a month now. They tell me to stop by every few days to check, but I've been here 4 times now and each time, they say it'll only be a few more days. They have failed to meet every one of their commit dates that they have set. Clearly they need a lesson in customer service. read more

This place is despicable and crooked. I took my Kitchenaid mixer there because California Electric Services is one of KitchenAid's authorized repair providers. First, they require a non-refundable $59 cash fee to look at your appliance, then they came back with a quote of $165, in addition to the $59 I already gave them, to replace a $17 part that took me 20 minutes (including watching a YouTube video on how to complete the repair). When I went to pick up my mixer, the "manager" offered to do the work for $80. When I told him no, said he didn't understand why I didn't want to have them fix my mixer. "This is a good mixer. Many people spend more than than that to get them fixed." I guess other people have money to burn. I registered a complaint with KitchenAid. I don't think California Electric Services represents their company well. read more

Stopped by here on the recommendation of Bissel, as CES is a authorized repair location. I inquired on getting my Bissel Spotbot pet carpet cleaner repaired because there was a problem with the plastic housing, and wanted to see if they could repair it. Fred told me he would call them and ask as the part i needed was not available. I left the shop and awaited his call. Fred called me back and told me that they were going to ship him the replacement part for no charge, and that he needed to return the broken part to Bissel. To my surprise Bissel shipped me a new Bissel Spot bot cleaner instead of just the part, which i gladly accepted. Not only is Fred @ CES a great place to get your repairs done, but he strives to keep you informed at every point of the repair process. read more

If you have a vintage Electrolux vacuum cleaner you will appreciate this story with a happy ending. Cutting to the chase, the power attachment failed. I took it to a local vacuum repair shop. The verdict, couldn't be fixed. I said to myself, we'll see about that. Time for a second opinion. I stopped at California Electric Services' shop, which happened to be on my way home. Been there before. They repaired my grandson's electric ATV. This business has a well-earned great reputation, they've been in business for decades. Here's the happy ending. While it's true that the part that failed could not be fixed, they found another power attachment, cleaned it and did the necessary work to get it working perfectly and here's the happiest part - it's the exact same model and now I also have the old one for spare parts. For anyone who appreciates the fantastic performance of these classic machines, that's insurance. Who loves vintage Electrolux? 20 minutes before I picked it up another customer asked if it was for sale! "No", Ron replied. "It belongs to one our customers." That would be me. Yay! This is the only certified kitchen aid appliance repair in the area, and I believe I was taken advantage of for that reason. I brought my mixer in for repair because it stopped working after I took out the brushes. I was told it needed a new switch, but they did not save the old part. I honestly believe that all it needed was the brushes to be replaced in the proper orientation. Instead they convinced me that it needed cleaning and three ceiling of the gaskets and gave me a bunch of unnecessary repairs. It cost almost $170 to do this simple job, and I think I was taken. I do not feel comfortable with the integrity of the shop. read more

I have owned my Kitchen Aid Special Edition stand mixer for over 30 years and have never had a problem. There is a metal band that wraps around the mixer and I have noticed lately that it is leaking oil. Since relocating to Southern California, I looked through Yelp to find a repair service and lo and behold found Fred at California Electric Services! Upon calling him to get information about pricing and what could be wrong with my mixer, he advised that they would need to take a look at the machine to see what exactly was wrong. He also asked that I bring in the mixing bowl and flat beater so they would be able to diagnose any other problems. After dropping off the machine, he advised they would take it apart to diagnose the problem and would call me to OK the charges. He did promptly call and explained that it was the gasket which needed to be repaired. In addition to replacing the gasket, they would service the unit by repacking the oil and adjusting the bowl and flat beater which totaled less than $100. Mind you, I have never serviced the machine and since it's a Kitchen Aid you know that they are built to last. I was more than happy to have my machine back good as new and probably ready to be used for another 30+ years. I will definitely return my machine to CES if I have any additional repairs or concerns. read more
