My daughter has been attending California Gymnastics for the past two years, she's now 4 and she absolutely looks forward to her class every Wednesday! Highly recommend :)

Great place! I have 3 daughters enrolled here and they love it. The coaches are super helpful and the front desk is so accommodating. We have been here for about 3 years combined... took a break from everything during pandemic. There is no A/C but can you imagine trying to cool this huge place?! There are fans that are amazing and when the weather permits they open the slider doors... if it's too hot they have the A/C on in the front and you can watch through the big windows. I absolutely recommend this place to all.

It was a bit crowded and haphazard. Not all of the kids got help when needed. They had do things themselves. Just ok.

We trusted that recommendation and attended the class. To be clear -- he did very well, especially for his first time in a new environment without a parent. He followed directions and waited his turn. The only challenge was that there was a lot of standing in line while one child at a time was worked with for several minutes, leaving the other kids waiting with little to do. Like many young kids, he stayed engaged by moving and dancing while waiting, which felt reasonable given the structure. When we followed up to enroll (after being told someone would reach out), we were told our child was "not approved" for the class based on that single visit. That phrasing is pretty surprising when you're talking about very young children, and there was no acknowledgment or adjustment when I expressed concern. The response felt very rigid and policy-driven. It seems like this program prioritizes strict structure and compliance over keeping young kids actively engaged. For the amount of time spent waiting in line versus actually participating, it also made me question the overall value of the class. Also, I didn't see boys in the older structured classes, which may be something for parents of boys to consider. Overall, this felt like a mismatch in philosophy and a lack of thoughtful communication. We will not be returning.

They keep it fun and encouraging all while pushing our daughter to be better. She loves the coaches and feels they support her growth and at the same time aren't overly tough on her to where it would kill her love of the sport. She has a medical condition that sometimes requires a specific maneuver- similar to a handstand - to correct it. When this happened during class, my daughter ran out to notify me, as she's done before. In the past, we were offered a back room to perform it, since parents aren't allowed in the mat area. This time, while discussing the situation with the front desk, the owner walked out, spoke to me in a short and dismissive tone, and immediately shut down the conversation without offering any alternatives or solutions. Before I could even explain, she turned and walked back to her office, closing the door behind her. I completely understand and respect facility rules. But when a medical issue is involved, a little compassion and willingness to help would go a long way. This was handled poorly, and I'm extremely disappointed in how dismissive the response was. At the very least, I expected a conversation about possible solutions, but I was denied even that. I hope ERA gymnastics will reconsider how they handle medical concerns/situations like this in the future - for the well being and inclusion of every child in their program.

Communication from staff is inconsistent, policies are unclear, and parents are given conflicting information depending on who they speak with. After being told one thing in person by staff, I later spoke with Liz, who provided completely different information with no acknowledgment of the earlier guidance. As a result, a reasonable request regarding already-paid classes was denied due to staff miscommunication. When I was at the gym in person, I specifically asked to speak with the manager, Taylor, but she refused to come out and instead said she would call me. That call never happened. The lack of accountability and follow-through only added to the frustration. We have been members for over two years and currently have another child enrolled, yet there was no flexibility or effort to resolve the situation fairly. For a business that serves families and children, this level of customer service is unacceptable. I would not recommend this gym based on how poorly concerns are handled.

What's the best entertainment value in OC for $5.00? For many, it's CSUF Women"s gymnastics meet at…read moreTitan Gym. There are usually four or five meets per year at home. As of this writing, they have one more home meet and the conference championships (which will likely cost more) at CSUF in 2010. I found out about this program once when I was a student here playing tennis one Sunday. All of the sudden, people flocked to the parking lot and onto Titan Gym. It's a great place to take little girls who can see how beautiful and strong they can grow and maybe even have their Olympic dreams. There's few places where can you see fit strong and beautiful women defy gravity/ as they tumble, dance, and swing. UCLA has a gymnastics team also, but they're 60 miles or so away. NCAA gymnasts compete on the floor exercise. Watch for girls who flip in the air twice before landing and show off their personality as they dance to music. On vault, they also sprint down the floor then vault off a "horse", fly high, then flip or twist around before landing. On the uneven bars, they need to do ten moves, including a release when they throw themselves off the bar, re-catch, and pirouette on top of the bar while in a handstand, and swing out and flip or twist and land cleanly. The balance beam is where these ladies have to do a floor exercise routine on a beam that is 4 inches wide and four feet off the floor. It takes years daily practice for several hours to do a routine in a minute and thirty seconds. Gymnasts have the highest injury rate of any NCAA sport except springtime football training. They also have to always wear can't hide leotards during competition. These are beautiful and strong women, but as a friend of mine found out years ago, dating a female gymnast does have its drawbacks. For one, they are sometimes bruised and injured, and people might think their guy is abusive. They might say something like "Hey dude you're not a man if you have to hit your girl!" Truth is, these ladies are some of the toughest people you'll meet. I used to moan about getting kicked in the face during tae kwon sparring. These ladies instead of contacting a hand or foot, contact on the ground or an unforgiving piece of metal or wood while tumbling ten feet in the air. They get back up, and try it all again with no complaints. Once outside the gym, the Titan women are among the highest rated academic gymnastics teams in the country. Here is one of their gymnasts in action at a meet vs. UC Davis. Check out the double back somersault in the beginning and the end of the routine. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6QMnrEp-oqw&feature=related But you better try to see them soon because sadly, they're fighting to stay alive because of budget cuts. This is a storied program that had a one armed gymnast, Carol Johnston, who once was one of the best in her time. Disney even made a TV movie about it in the early 80's called "Lefty". They were once national contenders, more than any other CSUF team except the baseball team. They're still able to beat teams like CAL, San Jose State, and UC Davis, who were all ranked higher earlier in the year. But these Titan ladies fight with style. And hopefully they can succeed and remain part of the athletic landscape at CSUF.
