This was a disappointing experience, mainly due to how communication and expectations were handled…read more We brought our young child in for a trial class and were specifically advised by staff to place him in a more independent class instead of a parent-and-me option. We trusted that recommendation and attended the class. To be clear -- he did very well, especially for his first time in a new environment without a parent. He followed directions and waited his turn. The only challenge was that there was a lot of standing in line while one child at a time was worked with for several minutes, leaving the other kids waiting with little to do. Like many young kids, he stayed engaged by moving and dancing while waiting, which felt reasonable given the structure. When we followed up to enroll (after being told someone would reach out), we were told our child was "not approved" for the class based on that single visit. That phrasing is pretty surprising when you're talking about very young children, and there was no acknowledgment or adjustment when I expressed concern. The response felt very rigid and policy-driven. It seems like this program prioritizes strict structure and compliance over keeping young kids actively engaged. For the amount of time spent waiting in line versus actually participating, it also made me question the overall value of the class. Also, I didn't see boys in the older structured classes, which may be something for parents of boys to consider. Overall, this felt like a mismatch in philosophy and a lack of thoughtful communication. We will not be returning.

The staff and coaches are great...shout out to Coach Katelin! :) She is great with the 3/4 year olds, pushes them as a coach should at this age, with lots of 'you can do it!' and high fives, and is SO patient with them. I just absolutely love her coaching style. We look forward to seeing our girls grow here!

We have done make up classes with other coaches and the classes aren't as fun or interactive as Coach Jen's. 3 stars for the front desk and facility. I also feel like the gym floor can be much cleaner and put together. Bathrooms are always clean and so is the lobby but the gym itself needs more love.

Communication from staff is inconsistent, policies are unclear, and parents are given conflicting information depending on who they speak with. After being told one thing in person by staff, I later spoke with Liz, who provided completely different information with no acknowledgment of the earlier guidance. As a result, a reasonable request regarding already-paid classes was denied due to staff miscommunication. When I was at the gym in person, I specifically asked to speak with the manager, Taylor, but she refused to come out and instead said she would call me. That call never happened. The lack of accountability and follow-through only added to the frustration. We have been members for over two years and currently have another child enrolled, yet there was no flexibility or effort to resolve the situation fairly. For a business that serves families and children, this level of customer service is unacceptable. I would not recommend this gym based on how poorly concerns are handled.

First thing I noticed, the personal doesn't have any structure, they change my kid to another spot with bigger kids, I thought it was gonna be good but no. The teenagers were doing their thing as they know how to do it, my kid is new at that, she was just looking. Then she started jumping and copying what others do, the teacher move her from one foam tool so another one wanted to use it, and she was standing there nobody paying attention, actually they don't pay attention to nobody, kids do whatever they can with no lidership from the staff. I noticed other kids standing the same waiting for someone to help them. That's a shameful attitude. Also I noticed teachers arguing for the spots to use, this place is very unorganized, the price is fair, but because of that they should have professional people working with the kids, it could be fatal if they don't have instruction what to do and do it wrong. Is a huge place and the teachers or assistants are young, if they are doing this for the payment is terrible, management should hire loving people, patient and willing to share gymnastics skills, they go to play only, or to see other's doing flips. I hope this place makes the improvements needed. Finishing this month is the last class for my kid, because is paid, but definitely we are going somewhere else.

If your child is a beginner or needs help, don't expect much support. It honestly feels more like an open gym than an actual class. Coach Lexi, was very mean to my daughter, she made her feel discouraged and belittled her instead of building her confidence. It was really disheartening to see her lose motivation because of how she was treated. Also, the lady at the front desk is very hit or miss. Some days she's nice, and other times she's extremely rude, depending on her mood. It just doesn't feel like a welcoming or supportive environment overal. Last, be careful with the hygiene. My daughter has gotten hand, foot, and mouth disease from here. It's pretty gross. No proper cleaning, and during the summer, there's no A/C or good ventilation, it gets super hot and uncomfortable. I wouldn't recommend this gym at all.

The setup of the class and activities has been rearranged almost every week which makes it feel like a different gym each time. There are also open gyms included in the membership where your little one can have free play. All of the parents/caregivers were very friendly, seems like a great community. The structure of the class so far has been: a little free play, circle time with songs and warm up exercises, learning to do a new "gymnastic exercise" with your little one and trying it a couple times, free play while they set up a fun activity that each child gets one turn to do, they set up swings (enough for most), maybe one more setup activity, books laid out for story time, then a goodbye song. Considering everything that is included in the membership, I think it is a great value. I canceled my membership after a month because my son got sick twice in 3 weeks, but there is a minimum 2 months you must pay. I was told they had a strict sick policy which is why I joined, but unfortunately they do not enforce it as we saw a ton of sick kids and parents each open gym and class. This may be fine for many, but just not for us since my son is not in school yet and had only been sick 2-3x in his life before this. They do a great job of keeping the location clean, and sanitize after each open gym and class, but not as beneficial if many kids in the class are sick. I may try the class another year when getting sick frequently isn't as big of a deal for us.

It was her first…read moreexperience with any kind of gymnastics, and, honestly, I selected this particular class because it was cheapest in OC. Previously, my daughter tried ballet and dropped it in one month because "it was boring". Ruby's classes were anything but boring: serious workout, new impressive tricks every time, chance to be a part of performance. My daughter simply loved it! I was very much impressed by low price, small class sizes and my daughter progress. In just two month she built such abdominal muscles that allowed her to do 100 sit-ups easily. She always had weak arms, but now she can do front and back walkovers and a handstand. I liked Ruby's "warm up" routine so much, that started to do it myself at home, it is great for getting back in shape. Ruby's and Luca's enthusiasm and passion to their work are superb. You rarely will be able to meet teaches who make a class longer for no additional charge because they are really trying to help a student or simply being carried away. Did you ever take children to summer camps? Then you shall know about penalty for every minute of the late pick up. First day at Ruby Karen summer camp I was 5 minutes late and was preparing apology in advance. When I run into the gym, I found my daughter preparing for the upcoming performance and Ruby kindly asked me to wait for a few minutes so they can work on some elements! She was apologizing for taking time and doing extra work, and she was there all morning! And shall I really tell that OC Great Park performance was a highlight of this summer for my daughter and many other kids? Since Dance Asylum is located pretty far from my house, I always was staying in the room during my daughter's classes and never noticed a single inappropriate word or action. I do not remember a single class starting late or being cancelled on the short notice. Luca is my daughter's favorite person and, I noticed, all children simply love him. Both, Ruby and Luca are strongly focused on safety and even I, a mother, sometimes would get feeling that they are a little too attentive. In the matter of fact, I am certain now that aerial arts, if thought properly, are much safer than regular gymnastics. I also feel that for some children, performing arts can become much healthier physical activity than competitive sport. My daughter participated in two performances so far, and during these events every child is a winner. Ruby is amazing choreographer and she designed beautiful routine for every skill level. Ruby is very professional, extremely patient and encouraging teacher. I recommended Ruby Karen project to all my friends. I am very certain that her classes can be great experience for children of any age or physical shape. I would give her 6 stars if there was such option ))
