The barber with the big forehead who cut my hair seemed inexperienced despite his cosmetology certificate posted. I asked for a low taper with my bangs to my eyebrow and to texture and layer the top, the outcome absolutely did not fulfill my request. While he was cutting my hair, he was clumsy and fidgety with his equipment, he was uncertain with almost all of his actions as if he wasn't confident in his own job. He also kept forcing my hair into a side part when I strictly kept asking for bangs, and he would keep trimming and trimming down my hair till it was too short just for him to still not get it even. This guy wouldn't even ask question, or say anything the whole haircut, I had to correct him numerous times and he still messed up my hair. One of his colleagues came up to him after seeing how he was cutting my hair, they spoke Vietnamese so I didn't understand, but based on what my hair looked like at the time, I could assume it was about how my hair he cut was uneven and not properly faded. Furthermore, after how long, he was done with the haircut, I was of course dissatisfied. I asked for some texture on the top again because that's what I asked for because the bangs he cut weren't salvageable nor was the sides, and he looked at me clueless. The result wasn't even a low taper at that, the fade continued way higher than I asked for and the bangs were over an INCH above my eyebrow. I am extremely disappointed as I've been here a few times before but never had this bad of an experience. horrid. Only reason why I consider this place 2 stars is because of the ladies who are also barbers in the shop. They're very kind and make the whole shop feel homey and one of them saved me from the guy messing up my haircut more. Nothing fancy here and that's what I like about it. Great service from friendly staff. Come on in, take a number and have a seat. If there is a little wait, there are plenty of spots in this strip mall to grab a bite to eat or a drink. We found this place by walking by. It's in a huge and busy shopping center. We always find parking but it is busy. You go and pull a numbers and there are two huge benches were you can sit. My son was due for a first-day-of-school haircut and we were out of our regular area, so thanks to Yelp, I found one close to where we were. After reading some reviews, we felt confident bringing him here. It's always a hit or miss and thank goodness we found a hit. It was a Sunday and there were about 4 people in front of us. We took a number and since there were no available seats inside, my son and I went shopping while my husband waited to be called. After about 20 minutes, it was my son's turn and the gentleman, Danny cut my son's hair. He did it in a jiffy and surprisingly, my son stayed still the entire time. Usually he'll wiggle a little, but he's always been good about haircuts. He just has a hard time sitting still. The haircut was great and just the way we wanted. Had a not so good experience with someone who seemed to be very inexperienced. His clipper heads kept falling on the floor (I've never had thick enough hair to cause this), when he wanted me to turn my head in a certain direction, he would grab my head/face very hard and forcibly turn my head, without even saying anything. He kept pulling on my ears with his instruments, he repeatedly let the body cover fall off of me onto the floor, and I had to verbally ask him to keep putting it back on as he was preparing to keep cutting my hair without it. The cut I wanted should have been accomplished with 90% clippers only, but he only used comb and scissors for the 90% of it. At the end, the cut was uneven in the worst places. At the end I was so angry that I didn't even want to be around him anymore, so I just left and saved him the embarrassment of asking one of his coworkers to finish the job themselves, although at that point my hair was cut down to the point that my original cut that I wanted was not salvageable. In the future, I will still go back, but never let him touch my hair again. There are still some top-notch barbers there, and will wait until one of them is available even if this particularly unskilled barber is the only one available for an hour or so. I feel bad leaving such a less than positive review, but my experience was not good at all. read more

I came in to see Kim last week. I showed her a picture of what I wanted done on my hair, which was a simple color with some low lights, and 2 inches trimmed off my hair. She then proceeded to cut about 5 inches from my hair and gave me some highlights I did not ask for and then up charged me $180 for service, I was not satisfied with. I am very upset. This is the reason why I don't trust anyone with my hair. While she was doing my hair, she proceeded to take another client and left the product in my hair longer than it was supposed to which made my hair lift more than it was supposed to and my scalp was on fire. I do not recommend this place do you research before you go to any hairstylist it's better to spend a little bit more money and get what you want. read more

I've been coming here for two years to get my hair trimmed. The last time I told the lady I wanted to get rid of all the split ends. I thought I was going to lose length and I was okay with that but the lady somehow kept my length, gave me soft layers, and got rid of my split ends. Not only that, she also did a blowout (they always do that at the end). So satisfied with my hair and the best is the price. This is my second time getting a haircut here. The first time it was just because they were available in July of 2020 when haircut salons briefly reopened up to the public before shutting down again. The cut was unexpectedly good but I didn't think anything of it given the unique circumstances. This time the cut was done after the permanent partial reopening (today), and my cut was by a female rather than the male the first time (all my cuts up to that point had incidentally been female). Now, the quality was just as good as the first time in July 2020. I'm not the best judge of hair quality but my wife is and she loved it, something she could not say for the half dozen other salons we have tried the past few years. This is important as it means that your quality of cut is not dependent on your preferred cosmetologist being available to cut your hair, being in a particular mood, etc. The quality is, in a word, standard. Some back story: Yesterday I went to a different hair salon (the other place shall remain anonymous) and the person cut my bangs diagonally and like a weird zigzag...thing. I normally don't write reviews, but honestly this is my worst haircut experience in years. I have semi wavy hair and I get my simple straight trim couple times a year. This time I decided to go somewhere new. I never thought a super simple straight trim of my already short hair be a disaster like this. See for your self in the pics lol the first indication of a terrible outcome was the amount of time it took the person triming my hair and I kept telling myself she is just super precise and wants to make sure my hair is even. I paid and left, showered again at home and because of my wavy hair I didn't notice how bad it is. I just ironed my hair tonight and I was shocked by the cut. So honestly I was a bit hesitant to go into the strip mall haircut place. It was time to do something new.. I checked out the other shops while I intensely yelped and googled the place. Finally I decided why not-- just because another place might be fancy and offer me cucumber water doesn't mean I'll be satisfied. I went in, was greeted immediately by a gentleman, then moments later a lady came out.. after about a minute they had me seated in a chair and I was being helped by Tom! My hair to start was very long, past the middle of my back. I showed Tom plenty of photos of what I was interested in, I let him know any variation would be sufficient.
