Amazing location, great customer service, good amenities, and a very relaxed environment!

I've been a member off and on since the johns creek location open. I've been happy with the wash itself but it's common to have my stuff rifled through in the center column and who knows where else. I've taken pictures to confirm my suspicion. Today was no different but this time the guy washing my car also switched my radio station from Fox News to CNN. Makes me feel real comfortable with who's cleaning my car. Its up to the management to hire and monitor the right people to protect our private property. I always feel violate. This is my second time coming here, with several months of not a year in between my visits. The first time, I believe they were still fairly new to the area. I might just be picky, but I never find the experience to be amazing. I usually get my car washed at self-service locations where I can drive through and vacuum it myself, and those washes tend to turn out better than this one. When I'm paying over $50 for a car wash, I expect a little more. Unfortunately, the results are lackluster and disappointing. I've attached photos for reference. read more

For a $50 wash I am disappointed. It was my first time going here as I'm 9 months pregnant and can't get into the car as good to clean anymore. The least I would expect would be for them to wipe down the interior of the car. Didn't see this until I got home. Since Ryan and Dustin have left this place has drastically gone downhill. I've been a customer for over 6 years. I even used CHCW for ceramic coating for 5 cars and recommended their products over the years. I had a written agreement with prior management that the current management will not honor. How does a business not honor a written agreement? I will be canceling my membership and no longer use this business. There are plenty of other carwashes that would like my business. This review is for the Alpharetta location which is not on yelp yet. My car was a wreck due to taking 3 kids (and a wife) on a 2000 mile round trip road trip. The place I normally go to was closed so I drove to CHW. I pull up into the non-member line and was greeted quickly and kindly. I opted for the nicest wash they offer and was talked into giving their membership a chance. I entered the waiting area and it is by far the nicest car wash I have ever been to. Free snacks, drinks and wifi with plenty of comfortable seating options. They even gave a kids room playing kids movies. A very comfortable setup while you wait for you car. They even have an astroturfed outside area for your furry friends. The quality of the was is what I am having some issues with. Upon initial inspection I pointed out 3-4 things that needed to be corrected/cleaned, including the cup holders had gunk in them, the windshield was not cleaned internally, and there was a a splattering of "bug residue" on the grill. While all this was fixed on the spot, I later noticed that whatever the apply to clean the dash is poorly applied, streaky, and looks oily. I tried to capture it in the photos, but not sure it will be easily seen. The interior of the windshield is streaky, and needs to be cleaned again. Luckily I have a membership so I can go back and get this corrected. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt since my car was especially dirty this visit. I'll update my review after subsequent visits. All in all, I'm hopeful that it will get better as I bring my car in in better shape. read more

Based on a recommendation of a family member I took my car here. It's totally not worth I paid to detail the exterior and interior of my car. I wound up coming back and it's still a very sloppy and unprofessional job. I got home and did the exterior myself. I will not recommend this place to anyone. Go elsewhere! read more

One update to my previous review: beware if you are a member and don't have cash to tip the hard workers, you will face a service charge if you use a credit card for tip money. For $5 tip I was levied a 10% charge ($.50 is the charge but for a typical wash that would be 10%). Word to the wise, bring cash for tips if you are a member or pay extra. read more

I paid $50 to get my new vehicle (2 weeks old) washed. It was after work and I was tired. They called my vehicle I tipped the guy and left. This was a total waste of $50 and I will NEVER go back there. My side mirrors have water spots and my windows have smears. I've had my car washed at California Hand Wash several times and they always deliver excellent service. They mostly cater to luxury vehicles and offer monthy memberships. The price can be pretty steep at $40 for a basic wash. I go in occasionally to spruce up my bright white car whenever it has nicks and scratches and they do a great job making it look shiny and new. The waiting area is very comfortable and they offer complimentary snacks and drinks. read more

The three starts I give to the as aesthetic design and the drinks they offer at waiting area, as far as car wash it's a No No for me, they pretty much ran the car with exterior car wash and vacuumed inside , and that's it doesn't look like they wiped anything, the screen is full of fingerprint and cup colder and trims still has lots of dust and drink stains, even in the back seat my daughters foot print is still on the chair. They do a decent job but the perks of being a member are different in each location. I tried one month membership. Johns Creek location is always busy but they should take members cars first. The location in Buford does. I was waiting in the line for members which was longer but the non members that got there after us got in and out faster. I am canceling the membership and I will just pay as I come. I will get faster service here anyways as a non member . I live in Lawrenceville so it's not super convenient anyways. read more

I specifically brought my 3rd car here. We have 2 other high end vehicles that we don't just allow any one to touch. I had researched and found the California Handwash location at Hamilton Mill. They do not have their own page on here so I guess this is the best place to tell everyone about the service and experience. I brought our extra car here because my husband is very specific about machine based washes because they can leave swirl marks in the paint. As I was sitting waiting and waiting for a long time, there was another lady who had been sitting and waiting for a long time and making sure everyone around her knew it. And I watched as well. Her car sat in the interior cleaning area for 40mins without being touched. The staff got an earful when her vehicle was finally ready. I noticed that I sat for a long time as well (about an hour and a half) but I figured that since this is supposed to be a high end car wash. From the time I arrived and got into the line until I left, I noticed the high amount of high end and luxury vehicles. So I was still optimistic that my car would be as clean as the day I purchased it. I just figured maybe the extra time waiting is just them taking extra good care of the vehicles. Um, no. I purchased the $45 California dream. It turned out to be more of a California nightmare. I did not have the time to criticize the job because I had a commitment that I had to get to and did not anticipate having to run it that close. The receptionist was trying to calm disgruntled customers by apologizing and saying that their staffing is low and that they are doing their best. With boredom, I was in and out of the building. I would sit for 20mins inside at a time and then go outside to see how far along the process that my car had made it. The staff outside seemed plentiful. Many employees and several of which that seemed to be wondering around aimlessly as if they were bored with nothing to do. The employees that were actually working were not putting their best into their assignments as they were very busy talking and joking with each other and their job seemed to be second to what they were doing. Upon leaving and looking around inside, I noticed that 3 of my 4 windows on doors still had nose prints and slobber smears from my dogs untouched. Dust all over dash board, door panels, air vents, and console. It looks like all they did on the inside of my vehicle was vacuum, yet, the package that I purchased promised that those areas would be included in the service and would be wiped down. Their focus seems to be on those with memberships with members not having to wait in line. They get taken right away. But even members I noticed were iritated. From this experience I would never consider being a member. I have 3 vehicles. They could stand to make some real money off of me. But, no thanks. If I still have to clean my car after paying for my car to be cleaned, my money would be better spent elsewhere. And this is supposed to be a spot for high end cars. Ill admit that my 3rd car is nothing special but don't judge a book by its cover, I have 2 other vehicles in luxury brands. They will never touch my other cars. Waste of money. My car was sooooo dirty after my road trip. It desperately needed some love, and I so I decided to come to Executive Car Wash, but upon rolling in, I see it's now changed ownership to California Hand Wash. It's a hand wash service, and it runs through a wash service/rinse service but instead of brushes, there are people there scrubbing and cleaning your car. It's super clean, even the bathrooms. Service is really good. There are three types of washes you can get, from $35 to $50. The prices were a little steeper than I am used to paying, but it is hand wash. They offer memberships, which always sound like a good idea to me, but I typically never do them. I opted for the California Dream, $40 with a $74.95 unlimited. They will vacuum the inside and dust it off, do the tire rims, etc. While you wait, they have a very spacious clean interior with seating, snacks, and drinks. They were pretty quick, too, for hand wash. I would be sure to tip those guys. They are working their butts off. My car looked so nice when it was done. Being a black car, it shows everything and I really need to be better about keeping my car washed and clean. The hand wash is a definite perk too. I'll be back!! read more

I hate to write this review but I feel its necessary. As a long-time customer , I have to say my recent visit this past Sunday (1/23) and Monday (1/24) were very disappointing. I would like to point out that customer service is excellent here. The staff are very friendly and personable which makes the experience great. However that is where the positives end for me personally. The wash quality itself, however, is very disappointing. They have recently raised their prices by about $10 (not too sure if its the same across the board) so now a Dream+ wash, which is my go-to wash, is now sitting at $60. The upside, however, is that instead of having to choose between the interior 'cream' and the exterior 'spray wax', both are automatically included in the wash. So while an increase, to me personally the prices are the same since I always get both options regardless. The problem is that the quality and attention to detail in these washes have considerably gotten worse over the years I have been coming here. I have 3 cars here and all 3 have the same issues; attention to detail in the washes. Front bumpers, rear bumpers, side mirrors, wheels and even fenders would have areas that are untouched. Not only that, their interior wipedown I guess consists of rapidly just having a towel over a surface and not getting anything in the process? At 3 cars, I am shelling about $200 (with tips) for what is essentially an express wash that is comparable with a machine wash quality. Which is absolutely ridiculous. Besides the quality of the washes, the wait-time of the washes themselves are crazy. You're looking at about 30 minutes to an hour of wait. They offer a membership which offer unlimited washes depending on how often you'd like to visit. In my experience, I have been a member for all three cars and have found that gradually, the attention to detail have decreased and they were getting sloppy. As a result, I have decided to just drop the membership and go with a non-member wash. So I'm not really sure if its because I'm not a member anymore and therefore its 'marked' so they don't really care about the quality of the washes themselves but in my experience, there is barely a time difference of waiting between being a member vs a non-member. I know their model is to grab as many people to sign up for membership as possible but this is simply not attractive if the service produced is subpar at best. The staff is nice and will allow you to 'rewash' the car but who has the time to repeatedly come and have something re-done when you're paying $180 for all three cars? I won't be back unfortunately. read more

I hated having to drive down to Atlanta for a good hand wash but glad to find this local John's Creek gem online after some searching. I've always been wary about this particular car as it makes me worry if people will treat me and the car differently... But I pulled up around the front (follow the cones) and was greeted promptly. Great guys, I asked for the most basic wash and nothing else but they offered to buff out a rather big scuff on a side mirror for free and now it looks like it never happened. I didn't get to see my car get washed through the windows so it was a little disheartening. They knew automatically that it wouldn't be good for the Huracán since it sits quite low so it was washed outside. Lovely and professional staff, they know what they're doing. I am always a bit nit picky when it comes to details though. Wish that they'd pay a little bit more attention to the wheels and window streaks but overall, great job. Will be back with more cars... (I got major Pixar Disney Cars/Radiator Springs in Disneyland California vibes from the entire place, especially the waiting room which was spacious and fun. It's nice to have a hand wash car wash in the area, as it seems all of the other car washes are machine-based. While your car does go through an automated bay to get hit by water and soap, there are no brushes that rub up against your car and potentially cause small scratches. Then the employees will dry the car with towels. I only purchased the exterior clean, but I was happy with the job. And I really like that they don't upcharge for SUVs. The interior is nice with a few TVs, a kids' play area, and a snack area with free popcorn and candy. read more

They missed some spots inside that I noticed after I left, but I should have came back and mentioned it. This was my first time at this car wash. On a positive note, the staff was very friendly. The Sarah that greeted me as I drove up was great as was Bri who took my payment inside. The waiting area and free food was another plus. I wanted a high quality detailing job done on my car and was ok with paying for it. When I explained to her my two areas were I wanted focus was on the chrome on the back of my convertible and removal of the tree sap on the hood, Sarah recommended I do the mini detail and add the clay n seal package - total of $200. Bri inside took my payment and was very pleasant and said I could have 1 month free of the dream membership included if I signed up today (normaly $74.95/month). I said ok and I would try it. After about 1.5 hrs my car was done and they pulled it out for me to pick up. The hood looked good but the chrome on the back looked the same. I asked if there was anything they could do to this to improve it and the two detail guys talked then one came back to show the other this solution that was on a cotton swab. He put it on part of the chrome then buffed it off and it came out great. The other guys took the cotton ball then going around the rest of the chrome to complete it. As he cleaned the chrome I ran my hand over the rest of the car and found some of it to be very wax like and smooth while other parts gritty... The supervisor came over and asked if everything was ok. I had him feel the two different areas and he said, yes we can make that better, since we did not clean the chrome very well let me put some of the clay and seal on there to fix this... I told him I already paid for the clay n seal and he seemed surprised... He apologized and said he really wanted them to do the car again and he would need more time. I agreed to wait. As I waited I noticed that the same detailer that had been working on my car was going over my car spraying this blue solution in a spray bottle all over my car then using the buffer to buff it out. When I watched closer, his buffer was not spinning all of the time (maybe only 50% of the time) as he moved it around the car... I didn't see them using any of the clay to clean the car it looked like they were only using the blue solution from the spray bottle... I didn't feel very good about the experience so before they finished I asked Bri to just cancel the auto renewing of my monthly subscription because I didn't think I would be coming back. She did it with a very positive attitude and as she finished they were just finishing up my car... I walked outside to look at my car again, the chrome on the back was still not very clean on most of it. I asked the detailer what the blue solution was in his bottle and he said windex... I said are you supposed to spray windex on the body of a car? He looked down and did not answer me... I don't feel good about this experience and definitely don't feel like I got value out of what I paid. I will not be returning and would not recommend this place to others. read more

Bring lots of money. $60 for a hand wash that goes through an automated car wash. I thought they were joking when they told me how much the car wash was. I couldn't care less about free coffee or popcorn. They missed several spots on the outside of my car and barely cleaned the inside side of my car. Also, a tip is expected. They have an ATM inside and when I charged my car wash I was asked if I needed to add more on top so I could get cash back for a tip. So now we are at $70.00. This is the place for very rich people to get their cars washed. read more

Got my car washed and when they finished I noticed a big scratch on my passenger side they told me the owner would view it and call me the following day by 12 never heard anything back had to call them back finally by 3 got a response which the owner never called made the manager call until my husband said he wanted to speak to owner they were unwilling to do ANYTHING for me kept saying they didn't do it took no responsibility for their actions and I was a member paying over a $100 a month so my husband asked for the video to be emailed to us and here we are over a week and NOTHING so unprofessional so hopefully no one that spend all that money don't get a big scratch on their car cause they won't take care of their member or customers so Goodluck if you go here HORRIBLE HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!! read more

With California in the name, you have a lot to live up to. I went once, I'll have to try again another time to see if you're getting there. The place was packed. The waiting areas and snack bar are pleasant. The wash was ok, except I was watching my car go through when I noticed my passenger side back door was open, which it wasn't when I drove in. What to do??!! Fortunately, one of the staff ran up and closed it just as the wash cycle was about to start. Not funny! Despite the crowd, the wait wasn't too long, or maybe the pleasant waiting area helps the time pass. The driver side back door was open when I went to drive off after. I was so excited about this place based on the aesthetics and convenience but my first experience was so bad I won't go back unfortunately. I chose the gold package which covers all the basic cleaning requirements and unfortunately when I got back to my car and had a look around, it didn't look like anything on the inside was cleaned at all, there was a streak on my dash board that was bothering me (which was what made me look up a hand wash place) and it was still there when my car was finished, which told me they didn't even wipe the dash, there was still bird poop the side of the drivers side door (that I had to ask them to wipe off) and my sunroof had black marks in the glass that were not there prior to the wash. It was a brand new car (maybe had it for 5 days) so I know it wasn't from me. The back leather seat had a little dirt on it from me placing a pair of shoes on them, and it was still there when I picked up the car as well. I had high hopes, but def didn't feel very taken care of. It may have been that I went in an hour and a half till closing time and they were in a rush, but still not okay for the price I paid. read more

I always enjoy bringing my car in for a wash, not only because they do a great job keeping my car looking brand new inside and out, but also because the staff is always friendly and professional- the unlimited free popcorn is a nice perk too!
