Thank you Officer Jaime Perez for helping us get an injured dog off of the freeway on Sunday morning. The dog wandered out of its yard when an electric gate failed to fully close. He survived being hit on the freeway, probably Saturday evening or early Sunday morning, and was reunited with its owner Monday, January 20. The owner's name is Angel. The dog's name is Halo. We're getting a lot of credit for doing the rescue but in fact, it was a team effort, which we were able to do safely with the assistance of the CHP. read more

The police officers on the road are very attempt, if u drive well there will be no problems. However the officers inside the chp office are rude corrupt and not helpful they say things that should be illegal and try to keep your stuff from you ! I had an officer scream at me through the phone completely unprofessional on her behalf she was very rude asking me question as if I committed a crime because I was calling on behalf on my boyfriend. read more

Thank you so very much to the two officers that helped me on the North bound freeway just past the 14 freeway. My battery died on my truck & I was towing a trailer. Car was stopped on the side of the freeway with tail touching the slow lane. The first highway officers waited, flashing lights to keep me safe and called for back up to jump the car. AAA could not find anyone to come help to tow truck with a trailer. The officers were very helpful and assuring that they could get me started again. Just had a car seat check with Officer Demasters in preparation for our twins arriving next month. He was very clear in showing me every trick to install our two Graco car seats safely and walked me through pretty much every step while fielding my questions. You must make an appointment, and they only do the child safety seat checks on Wednesday's, but I feel much more prepared now and would strongly recommend this service for Santa Clarita residents. read more

They believe they are above the law. CHP kept my drivers license illegally. They have no legal authority to not return my drivers license. I filed a complaint. They literally deleted any record of my complaint even though again they have no authority to do that. They believe they are above the law and answer to no one. They are corrupt. CHP should never be allowed to investigate themselves because they literally will take your complaint and delete them. They break the law and there's absolutely no consequences where they literally ticketed me for not having a seatbelt on. They will enforce something so minor as a seatbelt but yet when they criminally withhold your drivers license they refuse to even put a complaint in the officers file or a record of it. This is a corrupt organization which should never be allowed to investigate itself. read more

Very disappointed. We were traveling east through the Mohave Desert. Saw a young man walking on the side of the road. Although, we do not normally stop, it is 100 degrees and just could not leave anyone in that heat. It turned out that he had a blown tire. We took back to his car and called AAA. Unfortunately that did not pan out, and his uncle was able to help. What pisses me off is that two patrols passed us with flashers on. Neither one stopped. read more

What a great service they provide. I called August 1st to schedule a vin inspection and was given the appointment for August 23 at 10 am. I show up the morning of August 23 to be told that the officer took the day off. But apparently called everyone to cancel. I never received a call but there's nothing I could do.i asked to see if I could make a new appointment. But was told "he's not in so wait till Monday and call him".... Today is Monday. I called at 8 when they opened. Just to be told he is not in yet to call back later. I called 2 hours later. He was able to take my call just to tell me he is not taking more vin inspiration appointments till September. To call back on September because apparently he's working an important investigation and can't multi task. Really . Wait till then to see if he could give me an appointment. I called to ask about something I received in the mail and the lady who picked up acted like she had no idea what I was talking about and then she hung up on me without so much as asking if she could help with anything else or even saying bye. Last week my 2004 Blue Mach 1 Mustang blew a tire on the 14 freeway near the Sand Canyon exit. I was in a near panic mode and had a very hard time contacting my motor club. They actually hung up on me 3 times (not talking to a real person but a machine) Soon a patrol car pulled up behind me and came to my window. Immediate relief. He called the service patrol and stayed in his car until the my tire was changed and I was able to get get back on the freeway. I wish I got the officers name, for a proper thank you! read more

I just had a very disturbing experience with this office. I am a tax paying citizen that went to the CHP for help and I was met with unchecked aggression and cruelty. I brought in for vin number verification my classic antique show motorcycle that I spent a lot of my hard earned money and time rebuilding. I was early, polite, and presented all the proper paperwork. I was immediately met with a rude, mean, robot like attitude from officer Stevenson as he walked around the motorcycle shaking his head and spitting on the ground several times. He then proceeded to confiscate my motorcycle with no real explanation and said he would call me in a few days. Antique motorcycles are my passion in life and I have gone to various CHP offices to have this procedure completed and have never had this happen so I contacted Officer Stevenson' lieutenant to get a proper explanation as to what was happening. The Lieutenant assured me it was standard protocol and to wait for their call. Two weeks passed so I called and left a message. No call back. I tried again one week later and was told that Stevenson went on vacation starting that day and no one else could help me. I tried again a week later and finally reached Stevenson. He was short and yet again rude and said he'd "let me know". Again, no call back so I tried again and the answering officer said that the motorcycle had been ready for pick up, just no one had bothered to notify me. So after 37 days when I arrived at the office I was met by Stevenson and a commanding officer. Stevenson had improperly registered my motorcycle, drilled and attached a fabricated number plate to my frame, and completely destroyed my $4,000 show paint job and devalued my original 1939 $7,000 frame by hammering another number into it. I attempted to politely ask the C.O. a question and Stevenson took on an aggressive stance and got up in my face and said "God gave you three holes, two are to listen with and you need to shut up and listen!". He also made it very clear that I was being punished for "whining to his lieutenant". I was appalled and frightened by Stevenson' behavior and the fact that his Commanding Officer was doing nothing to correct the situation! I took my motorcycle and left quietly in fear of any more retaliation. This bullying and abuse of power has got to stop! There are other Yelp reviews and similar complaints against this department. Fortunately my girlfriend bore witness to much of this abuse and I am in the process of filing a law suit. Hopefully this will be a wake up call to what was once a fine department. read more

Tried numerous times to report street racing activity on the Old Road that had been going on for 2 hours! I was on hold for so long I finally decided to leave a message but their system said they couldn't do that at this time. I tried calling the Santa Clarita police and they kept saying that was CHPs responsibility. This is dangerous and incredibly loud to the neighborhood. I was there today and giving them an update and more paperwork and luckily the guy that was there the two other times and totally mean, useless, and unhelpful was not there (thank god!) and I was helped by a different officer with a patrol uniform on. This officer was absolutely helpful and actually fun to talk to. He was engaging and actually listened to what I had to say. He treated me like a normal human being. I was begining to think that office was nothing but working robots until this officer joked a bit and smiled! I am giving this officer a five star but that department as a whole a one star because nothing has been done about my case so far. read more

I wrecked my car on the Grapevine, and Officer Lesnet (15436) was called to the scene. He was utterly professional, keeping me informed of the process and all of the steps being taken, including making sure my car would be towed by a AAA company rather than the company first called by the dispatcher. The 911 dispatcher was also great, making sure I identified him as an officer before she disconnected my call. ... and since my cell phone had nothing other than emergency reception, let me thank someone for having put that in place. I was in very good hands, and a high adrenaline situation was made all the better by Officer Lesnet and all of the emergency personnel. read more

This past week out new car broke down in the middle of the Grapevine.... Someone called CHP for us thinking we were on fire... They showed up shortly after and they were amazing! The offered us and the kids water and snacks, they waited with us until a cab came, they offered to help us anyway they could if our belongings didn't fit into the cab... In May 2016 I was traveling south to SoCal from WA state with my son to pick up my daughter from college. Around 5 pm we stopped in Yreka to spend the night. About 5:30 pm apparently a drunk driver ran into a utility pole in front of the motel, which broke and wires were dangled to ~ 14 ? Ft above ground. Several CHP officers were there and one kindly directed us out of the motel parking lot so we could get dinner. Upon our return, we found a road block sign in the right lane 1 1/2 blocks away from the motel. I stopped and tried to get an officer's attention that was standing a block away. He waved me off. I circled around to the other side of the motel- I wanted to speak with one of them for advice as to what to do. I could see that a repair truck was there holding the pole and wires upright and very high over the street. An officer was in the street half block from the motel with a roadblock sign near him. He came up to my car and gave me the worst tongue lashing I have ever heard from a stranger or anyone, much less a public government official. He yelled and threatened me with tickets and didn't allow me to get a word in before ranting more. I was so shocked and confused. He yelled at me more about where I should park and made me feel like an idiot. In between the end of his scathing I managed to say that I wasn't from around there and didn't know where the location was, found it confusing. My, it was so traumatic and his loud yelling made my confusion worse. So, I gingerly and slowly drove to the area, driving past the motel. It was 2 blks away. Really, it wasn't a big deal to park that far away, but the unnecessarily castigating event shook me up. So, we parked there. We sat in the car for a few minutes as I tried to pull myself together. Shook to tears and so bewildered with what so unexpectedly happened. Just as we began to get out of the car, another officer approached. Turned out it was the partner of the officer. He said we were to drive back to the motel and park. Fearfully, I asked him if he was sure?- he also wasn't much for listening as he interrupted and repeated it. I said I really didn't want to because of all the previous officer had said. That I felt threatened and afraid to do anything. He said that I had passed a roadblock sign that was against the law in every state. I did not realize this. I don't think I did but clearly that was their perception. He said his partner apologizes and that I should return to the motel, and that he would walk us in as we drove. He also said he did not see what transpired between me and the officer but I was to follow him. So, the partner did try to make it right but I still feel the fear and intimidation as I write this 10 weeks later. No, I don't believe his partner apologized, but, life goes on. I had never experienced something like this or personally understood stories of police brutality, but, wow, I sure do now. I'm lucky it was only verbal. read more

I called the station and he told me he could help me...after getting out the car manual...low and behold we found them!
